APC - Vanishing is by far the best opening song a band could ever have

I swear to god, with that, and the weird drum things Maynard has, it's like the perfect opening

feel free to prove me wrong by throwing cool songs at me though.

emo and pop-punk will be greeted with intense hatred.

I don't know Muse opening with New Born was great.
But I'd love to see A Perfect Circle live.

When I saw the Super Furry Animals in March, they had a continuous techno/dance thing going on for 45 minutes before they came on stage, with their video projection playong onstage with crazy cartoons, then when they finally came on it went into the song Slow Life, which is excellent.

But also, Gruff Rhys, the lead singer, appeared at the top of this big structure on the stage, looking down over everyone, then he disappeared before the vocals were due to kick in, and walked on wearing a huge crazy helmet thing with a big painted face, and he put the mic to the side of it, where the ear was, to sing out of it.

That was pretty good.

Just to clarify, unusually large heads, on small bodies, are comedy, and imagine a guy singing out of the side of his head.

Yeah FUCKING WORD

I dunno Incubus opened with a kick ass song. I think it was either Privilege or Nowhere Fast? But yes Vanishing is an awesome intro.

Dave Matthews Band - Ants Marching would be good as an opening song.

They used it to close the live CD of theirs I have though, so I dunno.

Doctor Demento followed by Needled 24/7

Also, when Slayer opens with Disciple, it's works rather well.

Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast and Hypocrisy - Fractured Millenium are by far the best opening songs.
