Unhappy Gimmicks and Females and Female Gimmicks.
My friend (who's into E-fedding) was complaining about how difficult it is to come up with an original gimmick for a female wrestler. I figured up until said point that the only reason the female gimmicks in the WWE sucked was...cuz...it was the WWE. And they tend to have sucky gimmicks. Not to mention that the chicks aren't usually worth going brain dead to make a gimmick for...

...but anyway, I realized that, holy hell, females ARE hard to come up with gimmicks for. I mean, save for Victoria's former craziness, and Gail Kim being a vague Matrix throwback, about the only real gimmick any females have is being eye candy.

So seeing as I don't have alot of posts and I'd like to establish myself as NOT being a dumbass, I pose this question to you: What kind of gimmick would YOU give a female wrestler? Should females even HAVE gimmicks? It could help out my friend, establish me slightly (at least as a new guy) and give you something to waste time with...all at the same time! It's like Christmas.

Though, for that matter, original gimmicks for guys could be looked at the same way. I mean, almost every gimmick floating around is just taken off of another and slightly revamped. The egotistical youngster. The lady's man. The dark, goth figure. The extreme and/or hardcore punk kid. The big guy that seems unstoppable but doesn't talk much. The Asian martial artist. The hardcore enthusiast that attempts to use weapons in every match. Most "original" gimmicks are just old gimmicks combined, or gimmicks with new features thrown in. Nick Dinsmore has the only nigh original gimmick I can think of in the current WWE...and he's wrestling as a "retard."

Is there really such thing as an original gimmick anymore? Have all the plausibly original gimmicks already been run through? Is there nothing left? Will the future of wrestling involve psycho rappers and people with killer cyborg gimmicks and angry chefs and power rangers?

WILL EVERYBODY IN THE FUTURE JUST BE GENERIC BLUE CHIPPERS?!

I don't think females have gimmicks for a reason. It's pretty tough to get a chick who looks like a million dollars worth of plastic surgery AND be a good actor to go along with it.

IMO, if they can't act, don't make 'em. Just let em wrestle in bikini's and drown each other in gravy at thanksgiving.

I'm not asking WHY women don't have gimmicks on a regular basis--that's pretty obvious--I'm just wondering if it's actually POSSIBLE for a good female gimmick to exist. I mean, assuming there was an actually decent actress out there who happened to become a wrestler (hey, it could happen). Is there such thing as a good female gimmick?

Actually..its hard to come up with any gimmack for an Efed. Which is why I'm proud of my insane characters who don't know they're the same person. Yeah...I was stoned when I came up with them.

My all time favorite female gimmick has been Sensational Sherri.

I'm not sure how to define it. Mysterious, perhaps? Anyway, she was one of the few female managers who seemed somewhat intimidating.

Remember when Victoria was still a heel?

They had a good angry minority gimmick with Jazz.

They had one with Molly Holly still they scraped it.

Females can have pretty much any gimmick a man can have, you just have to tweek it for the character. You can also have the typical militant feminist gimmick. As for their acting they are not bad actors they just need time to learn, look at Molly Holly when she first came she was horrid on the mic but now she's equal to some of the men. The thing about women is they can be both T & A and have good gimmicks and storylines at the same time which makes the womens division such a unique division when done right.

I know someone who's efed female character is great, but it probably wouldn't work in real life. The girl's name is Dollbaby, who's basically a crazy homocidal 20 some year old teeny bopper who takes pleasure in the misery of others and hangs around another character names "The Mime" who as you could guess, doesn't talk, but is extremely homocidal.

I think Victoria's new gimmick is really good. If you think about it, I think Victoria's new gimmick is a stripper kind of a gimmick, you know, the nightclub techno theme song she has, and when she does that dance at the top of the ramp. That is so hot.

Victoria used to be a cheerleader for the NFL before she entered WWE, she asked WWE if she could use some of her cheerleading dances for her character.

My favorite gimmick that I've seen is similar to that of Gogo Yubari from Kill Bill. Other characters make fun of Inoue (the character) by calling her Gogo.

Then she hits a spinning back first to their nose, or possibly, their testicles, and that's that.
