Rate the Game: Week 105
Good morning, y'all. I've actually got a lot on my plate for today so I'm going to try to squeeze this sucker out as quickly as I can. That's what SHE said, am I right?
![]() Anyhow, we keep rolling on here as we're set to look at our 105th game for this endeavor. Last week, Cole McGrath got a decent amount of love for his PlayStation 3 hit, Infamous. How infamous does it end up becoming as we place it on our glorious leaderboard? Infamous comes very close but unfortunately doesn't break that critical 4.0 barrier as it ends up sharing some room with Gordon Freeman with a 3.83 average. Well, the 4.0 section is crowded as it is. That's my takeaway. There's more fuckery to be spread around, though, as we need a new game to talk about and rate and what not for this week. Let's go to the bowl, this time with a new camera behind the...camera.... Hope that looks a bit sharper than the other times I've filmed this process. With that said and done, your game to rate for this week is the high-octane, rubber-burning, open world cruising racer from one of the more prominent driving franchises, Burnout Paradise! It's the same Burnout you know and love...sort of. How did this different approach take to you? Let's do that rating thing we do and show this week what for! Until next week! ![]() No matter what may happen to me, just remember Lzzy Hale gave me the bedroom eyes... ![]() ...again. |

Absolutely love this game. Maybe it's bias but damn it's an easy 5 for me. Just pure fun.

I actually preferred the premade tracks of previous games over paradise's open world. But this was still a fantasic game. Burnout needs to make a comeback. |

I'll preface this by pointing out that I never played a Burnout game before this one and haven't played one since. The reason why I know about this title and managed to play it was because of two of my friends and my boss at the time who were all about it. It's one of those titles I got sucked into playing. It's certainly fun as hell and there's a lot of polish on it. It's just frustrating when you're playing something you're not particularly good at. I don't know how or what the fuck but I always somehow managed to find myself in the fucking mountains no matter what I was doing. Handling the vehicles took me a while because I'm not particularly great at driving games by default.
None of that, though, really ruined things to the point where I'm calling this a bad game. There's tons to do, the vehicles and the world look stellar, and the soundtrack is very fitting. I even have it downloaded. The only thing that I didn't get around to was the DLC stuff. Even without that this one's hard not to recommend. |

It's certainly no Gran Turismo. It feels more arcade than most racers. I do know that I absolutely loved the Montgomery Hawker vehicle. Oh, and the bonus cars like the one that looks like Ecto-1.

It was very arcadey. Just didn't have the awesome crash mode of previous games. Which was a huge letdown but the core racing game was still excellent without it.

There was some sort of crash mode. You were able to bust into it at anytime during the free driving sections. You had to rack up points and get multipliers by hitting buses and what not. Unless there's a different mode in the other Burnout games you're talking about.

Some of the devs tried to make an indie version of basically the crash mode a few years ago. It was very scaled back tho tbh. Cant remember the name of it. |

didn't care for the racing at all. then, i think the studio who did burnout took over the need for speed series and the controls sucked.
Want a new NFS Most wanted TBH. |

I'll say I did enjoy that they tried to have a variety of events to obtain higher and higher class licenses, but I got bored or it midway or so through "A" license.
