I won’t say this is a “game changer,” but DAZN pay out the ass for stuff, don’t they? If there’s an influx of cash it could allow Impact the means to make some stronger plays for talent.
It’s still Impact. It’s got a long way to go when it comes to drawing a crowd, etc. But hey, if they can put together something meaty, they could potentially do a big show to try and kick things up. I don’t like their chances though. Unless WWE gets into bed with them somehow. I read something about a big India show coming up? That seems insane because you’d think it would be announced. But you could tie Heath Slater into that by having him team with Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal, then you have those guys show up in Impact and do an eight-man with Heath & Rhino. |

Is Impact now the third biggest wrestling company in the world with this move?

The question is can the company use the cash influx to build off of. I say no. The brand is too tarnished to repair. There is something about lineage in wrestling that makes a rebounding exceptionally difficult and TNA has had a black eye for far too long.

There isnt a lot of talent in free agency though. I hear CM Punk is free but you gotta watch out Teddy Hart could show up and run him off again

I realistically don’t see much changing. It’ll probably make for some good Christmas bonuses and they’re now possibly profitable. They potentially have the weight to throw around when it comes to negotiating with free agents now. But will they want to upset their budget or just keep the money for themselves? What is realistically going to turn into an increased scope for them?
I think it’s possible for them to do some big things and catch up to AEW, but is it even worth it to them? If the executives are getting paid and Impact is sustainable, do they care? I’d laugh if this was a scheme to get Jarrett to suggest Tony buy Impact for the international distribution, and Jarrett ends up running the show again. |

I can see them having a good shot at signing Nick Aldis. It’s not exactly like signing Lesnar or Cena, but he’s got a good aura about him. You can tell he’s a star even when he shows up in the NWA.

I was just thinking about how good TNA’s tag scene used to be. They had some pretty great modern teams come through there. Beer Money, LAX, XXX, America’s Most Wanted, Motor City Machine Guns. There’s even acts like The British Invasion that a lot of people would probably kill for these days. |

Tag teams have always served a functional spot. They’ve arguably been treated better in WWE than AEW all along. That coupled with the change in management throws things up in the air. But you might be right in them working elsewhere at least for a little while. Get that truly independent run in before they go back to the regime.

At some point AEW has to shit or get off the pot with Miro. I can see him and AEW parting ways and Miro maybe getting a spot with Impact if Triple H thinks he’s too much of a headache.
If I were Impact, I’d be hiring CJ and having her prep the Impact Zone for the arrival of her “hot husband.” |

He wouldn’t have exactly been a hard guy to get per se, but Impact have snatched up Jonathan Gresham.
I’m thinking the DAZN money might help them make plays for Nick Aldis and John Hennigan. |

I could see them getting Mandy Rose, at least on a part-time schedule if she has bigger things going on. That might justify bringing in Sabby Piscitelli.
I doubt Sasha Banks would go because there isn’t much scope there (right now), but if they can put the money together, she’s probably better off having a program with Mickie James than Britt Baker. I’m really pulling for Impact right now. |
