At several recent RAW and SmackDown! brand house shows, wrestlers have been instructed by road agents that if the crowd is cheering a heel or booing a babyface, they should go with the crowd’s reaction instead of tring to fight it and keep to the conventional script. This was evident at the show in Manchester, England when Edge cut a heel promo before the match and clarifying Ric Flair as the babyface for the match as he has always been a crowd favorite in England. On RAW a few weeks back from Montreal, Shawn Michaels was kept off camera because the company is pushing him as a face for his Hell in a Cell Match with Triple H at Bad Blood and for obvious reasons, Michaels always gets major heat in Montreal.
