Am I the only one who hates......

Am I the only one who hates it when they schedule the same damn match for more than one ppv. I hate it when they play the whole "he will get his chance again" or "The Rematch everyone has been waiting for". Why the hell do they do this. Why must they put HHH Vs Beniot yet again at another ppv after they just had the match less than a month back. I hate it when they do that. Just like when they had Austin and Foley facing each other for like 3 different ppvs back to back to back. It just sucks. People are tired of it. Was I the only one who was tired of seeing Rock and Austin do battle at Wrestlemania in the main event over and over again. God this crap pisses me off.

Now if this thread offends you and you are a person who likes this kind of thing then Im sorry but I just had to get my opinion out on this.

Frankly I still think the news of the HHH/Benoit rematch is bull. Somebody wants to start us up about HHH stealing the title back and all that jazz. I've seen it once before when somebody said that Benoit was going to have the great "screwjob" put on him back at Backlash.

They do that because they want to stretch out feuds that they have going as long as possible. This usually involved some regular wrestling match the first encounter, followed by some kind of gimmick match after building it up on Raw/Smackdown in between the PPV's. I will agree that it does get boring, but if two guys just had one match and that was it, then they would run out of main eventers after a while and the same guys would be fighting each other after 3 or 4 months (assuming one guy holds the title that long). However, building long feuds is the main reason in my mind

I dont think it makes sense for a program to end after only one month all the time. As has been pointed out, if its a good program, why not see more than one match?

But in terms of why do they do it? Its just because of the brand extension, they have fewer main eventers on each show, so they have ot stretch out the programs they have.

feuds ending after a single month led to everyone despising HHH. RVD, Kane, Booker, all lost to HHH in a month and didn't get a rematch.

I'd much rather see Benoit/HHH for the second time than HBK/HHH for the god-only-knows-how-much time

True. What they could do, though is to have different types of matches. Now that we've had 2 Triple threats and a singles match, HHH should challenge Benoit to a street fight. This way, Benoit is out of his element. The next match should be a submission only/I quit match, so that HHH is out of his element and so on.

They've only ever faced for 2 consecutive PPV's (Unforgiven/Over The Edge 98) and both matches kicked ass

Also on your point, each to his own I guess, to me it really depends on the quality of the matches and the overall quality of the fued. Jericho/Benoit have done it before, and they put on stellar peformances PPV after PPV (not suprising). My problem is with a program like HHH/HBK which lasted for ages, had numerous PPV matches, was drawn out on TV for a long time, but each PPV match turned out to be fairly disappointing. Then, I would agree with you. But generally if you want a good fued, it's gotta last for more than 1 PPV. Look at the HHH/RVD & Kane fueds back in 200, they lasted a month, the challengers got dead and buried, and have never really recovered.

They generally do that though. Bakclash was the only time I can recall (in recent memory) them doing a straight rematch with no extra stips. But that was in part because they felt they had a strong selling match in Orton-Foley and there was a ton of positive reviews about the Mania TT, so why not do it again?

With Summerslam, I'm sure there will be some type of stip added tot he match, maybe Eugene is in there as a 3-way, maybe Eugene refs, maybe its 2/3 Falls or something.

They better make it something that hasn't been done in at least 1 year.

Cactus Sid took the words right out of my mouth. Except I'm a little more satisfied with the HHH/Benoit feud than he.

It depends on the match. I could watch Randy Orton vs. Edge for the next six months. But yeah, they seriously need to find another contender and not have HHH get shots until Wrestlemania.
