The difference between me and how my friend views wrestling is fucking weird

Alright been meaning to say this for a while now but anyhow, my friend who i just became friends with at college last year, has been into wrestling much longer than i have, can't quite rememebr how long but definately longer than me. But he's still a mark and i'm amazed at how different we view it. I mean here's an example, during the Eddie V JBL cage match when Angle interfered as El Gran Luchador, he said he was amazed it was Angle when the mask came off, but for some reason i knew it was Angle(no i didnt check the spoilers before!Atleast if i did, i didn't remember reading them) and wasn't so surprised cos i could easily figure it out before hand.

There are other examples i can't think of, oh yeah here's another ..when Cena got the title ripped off of him my friend was talking about how much of a son of a bitch Angle was, where as i view it as good for the show itsself cos it makes it interesting. Damn i miss being like that...i remember once back in those days when i screamed the fuck out for Mick Foley turning the decision to restart the match between Benoit V Rock when i hated Benoit, now i wish that didn't happen. It's strange when you think about it..anyone got any friends like this?

Well, my brother isn't a huge fan of Cruiserweights, and he thinks Booker T sucks. Basically, yeah, there is, has, and always will be a difference in how marks and smarks view wrestling.

I love talking with Marks...mark that know it's staged, but still get into the characters. Those ar the best. Hearing them talk about how Hogan is the man and why Kurt Angle SUCKS...it's just fun.

Yeah that's basically when I was in high school. I never used to go on wrestling websites and relied on my friend for 'inside info'. I was a huge mark back then. It's hard to say if I would rather be a mark or a smark. Nothing really surprises smarks because they have a general idea of what will happen in the future, but marks are usually shocked. I come on this site mainly because of boredom I suppose.

I wish I could be a mark again...I tried, believe me I tried...remember my year hiatis from this site, I just wanted to watch and be suprised, but I STILL could see it all miles in advance, and try as I might I just couldn't bring myself to boo Chris Jericho (he was a heel back then)....ahhh...I miss thinking Randy Savage was the bomb...though to be fair I always did like all the members of the Horsemen...

Personally, I love being a smark. Because i can call hogan an asshole and not get looked at like i am a complete idiot.....

It really hasn't changed my look at wrestling all that much as far as "excitement" goes. I just am more aware of backstage stuff. I also have gotten better at writing essays and stuff too.

THANK YOU INTERNET!

I actually find that I'm kinda of somewhere inbetween. When I'm sitting watching Raw or Smackdown I'll boo and swear at the heels and cheer for most of the faces, despite the fact that away from the TV I most of the heels are my favorites. I still get caught up in the show when I'm watching it.

I dunno, it's kinda hard to explain.

I don't enjoy being an obnoxious smart, nor do I enjoy being a dumbass mark. I like to keep it in a middle ground. I can enjoy people who aren't masters of workrate, and I even hate some who are.

Let's take the Global Warning Tour for instance. I watched that on DVD last night. I watched it as if it was a real sporting event. I loved Hurricane vs. Jamie Noble. I didn't think of how they aren't being allowed to work the Cruiserweight style, but how good they were doing in that match. Edge vs. Jericho was fantastic. I was legitimately excited to see HHH and Brock Lesnar fight for the first time in their triple threat match with The Rock.

So I like to keep it to a middle ground, and that way, it makes it easier to talk with both marks and smarts, and I don't feel like I'm criticizing something I love all the time.

I'm very much the same. I remember attending Global Warning back in 02, my first live event, never been so excited in my life lol.

I try to not think about what I've read online or anything like that when I'm watching. I let myself get caught up in the show. It's nice to have that balance.

Actually that's pretty much how i am aswell, i guess it's better off this way. I still do get enjoyment out of it, but atleast i know when i'm watching crap or not.And i try not to be too judgemental about it all the time either.
