NFC East
Lets have an area to discuss probably the strongest division in the NFL. You have the revamped Redskins, the NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!, the Eagirls, and the Cowboys.

With guys like Portis, now Eddie George, TO, Eli, Warner, added to the mix, it looks like it is up for grabs.go big blue

Right now though on paper as much as I hate to say it, G-Men 4-life I would have to give the division to the skins.

Giants have an AWFUL season, 'Skins look good on paper but choke as usual, Philly DOESN'T make the NFC Title game and therefore doesn't lose it either, and Dallas does aiight.

I wanna say Dallas wins the division with Parcells winning ahead of schedule and all but I dunno. It will be them or Philly.

if you think any team other than the Philadelphia Eagles will win this divison, you are fucking retarded. the Eagles have a REVAMPED OFFENSE adding TO, regaining Brian Westbrook and with TO on the team, he single handly opens the field for Pinkston, LJ Smith, FredEx Freddie Mitchell and Buckhalter.
The defense which was completely destroyed is healthy and we added the pass rusher threat that we lost when Hugh Douglas left with THE PHREAK, Jevon Kearse. Plus, second year man Jerome McDougle is now healthy along with Jamaal Green, Paul Grasmanis, Hollis Thomas, Sam Rayburn. What we lacked at the end of the year was depth which wore everyone else (LBs and DBs) down. We REACQUIRED Jeremiah Trotter who was made for DC Jim Johnson's scheme. He provides depth and versatitly with the linebackers.
Plus not many people know that Taylor and Vincent were both down for HUGE portions of last season. Only playing together in 5 games! Brian Dawkins also were hurt, which means that Lito Shepard, Sheldon Brown and Clinton Hart (bench still) had lots of playing time and chances to progress... which they did considering we won 9 straight last year.

Also, if you look at the Eagles' schelude... it is unbelieveablly easier than any other team in the NFC East. For example, the Birds HOST Baltimore, Green Bay, Carolina, and others while Dallas plays Baltimore and GB ON THE ROAD!

This team is on a mission. There is no stopping them.

Eagles: Elite
Dallas: (as much as I hate to say it) good, rising, few more years
Washington: Joe Gibbs needs time to get back into the swing of things, plus many unwise signings, many vets
New York Giants: No offensive line, 1 Washed up QB, 1 Rookie QB, 1 TV QB.... no where near ready.... PLUS THE QUIT LAST YEAR AND THEY ARE PUSSYS. NY should be ashamed of them for quitting.

Don't even think anyone other than the Birds will win the Division (4 Straight) and go far.... this time REALLY FAR into the Playoffs.

I am a G-Men fan. I think that T.O. is a bitch. Last time we played his ass we ruled him until the gay defensive coordinator changed to zone coverage on one of the last plays. Our D can shut him down anytime.

Clinton Portis is the real deal, he will win the Skins 3-4 more games than usual.

Dallas repeats last year, either that or worse. There is no way they can do better with their QB situation.

Clinton Portis looked pretty stellar last year (with the World Heavyweight Title belt on the sidelines) but lets see how well he does with the Redskins Offensive line thats blocking for him. Denver's line and scheme is unbelieveable. They made 3 or 4 different backs in 1,500 carriers. Portis, Anderson, Davis and wasnt there another one? Denver made the trade because they can make anyone succeed in their offense (Hearst). Lets see how the "Real Deal" Baby Ruth can do it with the Skins OL.

Dallas: unfavorable schelude. 9-7

They are pretty strong overall, but no team from the NFC East has a shot at winning the NFL Championship except for MAYBE the Eagles, but I don't see them ever getting past the NFC Championship game.

Cowboys still have a question mark at QB, I just don't think Quincy Carter is really all that good. Plus their RB situation improved, but anything was an improvement over Hambrick or whatever his name was. Redskins have gotten better but I am not sold on Burnell coming it at all, I think they shoulda just stuck with Ramsey. If he had some protection last year things would have been a lot different. Giants aren't going to do shit in the NFC East IMO...Cowboys, Redskins and Eagles are all a lot stronger them

I read someone on ESPN actually said that picking up TO changed everything about the Eagles, and changed Andy Reid's philosophy, and altered the team completely, but he was glad.

What happens if Andy Reid can't get to sleep in the bed he's made for himself? What if he CAN'T coach TO and this Eagles team? What then?

It's very easy to do, too. If you can't make it with the talent you've got, then what's missing isn't talent. The Patriots and the Bucs and the Rams did it on their own. The Bucs picked up Brad Johnson who was basically a cast-off... McCardell definitely was; the Rams did it with Marshall Faulk and Kurt Warner, both cast-offs (Faulk was kicked out for being too old, and replaced with Edgerrin James. Good one, Colts).

Redskins have been loading up on imported talent, stealing it from other teams. The players aren't allowed to grow together, so they can't play as a team, and when the sport they're playing is the most dependent on trust and teamwork of any sport ever, then that can lead to a major problem.

Basically, every team has up and down periods. Giants are heading for a down, the Skins are going to flop again IMO, and the Cowboys and Eagles are a top the division right now. A few years down the road this is going to change. With the exception of maybe the Cowboys still being decent, if Parcells sticks around that long.

They need a new HB, new WRs, and new lines on both side of the ball.

We definitely need to look into a new HB and some WR's. Ours are decent right now, but aging. We have a whole new starting linebacking corp and the new MLB Nick Greisen is going to look like a solid starter for years to come. We drafted Reggie Torbor out of Auburn, a specialist on defense that can rush the QB from the OLB spot. I hope Coughlin can take us to the promised land.

I also think that the Eagles are going to blow big dick this year.

Also to add, the Redskins just needed coaching, I think with Joe Gibbs they have definitely found it.

Greisen is the only weak linebacker if Green steps up on the weak side.

I think the o-line will hold up as long as Petigout's back holds, him and Snee would make a good left side of the line.

I've never been sold on Tiki. He's a great guy but the man has the most fumbles in the NFL. 17 in the past two seasons. That one game two seasons ago against the Eagles he had 4. Thats unacceptable and Coughlin knows that. He'll be happy to bench Tiki...leaving us with...Dayne.

Toomer and Hilliard are doing fine. Toomer's numbers dropped off because by week 6 the G-Men had no offensive line. Hilliard is still in his 20's.

As for QB, if the o-line holds Warner will also, making way for Eli.

Does anyone else remember that in the past NFC Championship games, the Eagles had a less than 100% Donovan McNabb (2002 with the ankle, 2003 taken out due to his ribs), does anybody realize that the Eagles went to 3 NFC Title games with James Thrash as their #1 WR? James Thrash. Are you serious? TO makes the entire offense that much better by getting extra attention his way. Double Teams Galore. Thats how he opens up the field.

Freddie Mitchell totally sucking? 4th and 26.

TO uncoachable? He has already bought into Andy Reid's system. He WANTED TO COME TO PHILADELPHIA TO WIN A SUPERBOWL. Why would he be uncoachable? He wants to do everything possible to win.

All of the other NFC East teams are just jealous that they are not as good as us.

Redskins: Not a Team, too much imported talent. Will eventually become team, but not now.
Dallas: QBs suck, RBs Suck, Old OL.
NYG: NO OL, Washed up QB, Rookie QB, no lines, older LBs.

When I say 9-7 fucking blows, its probably because the Eagles have been 11-5, 11-5, 12-4, and 12-4 the past 4 seasons. We haven't experienced a shitty 9-7 season for a long time nor in the near future.

Oh yes, by the way, lets what what Julius Jones has. If he was so good, then why did Dallas sign Eddie George? Explain that.

Oh and one more thing...... what was Notre Dame's record last year? Yeah, thats what I thought. A great running back could carry his team to a couple more wins (Larry Johnson; PSU)

They signed Eddie George because Parcells is smart enough not to start a rookie @ RB this year without absolutely needing to. Same reason Marshall Faulk will be starting in St. Louis. It's called depth.

And about a good RB being able to carry his team to a few more wins... seriously... WTF. Did you WATCH the games? Have you EVER seen him play? I'm guessing no. And by that logic, Ladanian Tomlinson must just be awful since his team was so bad last year. If he was good, they would have won a couple more games.

Giants: Really, I would be willing to bet money that the Giants secondary can shut the Eagles WR's down. Easy. Two years ago when the Giants opened up the season with the 49er's we shut T.O. down the whole damn game going man up with Will Allen covering him all over the field. The other WR's did jack shit. Will Allen is capable of covering the best in the game, and he is going to be a shutdown corner down the road in a few years. Will Peterson, is a slightly bigger version of Allen, who is also a very exceptional cover man.

Our LB's aren't old at all. Barrett Green is in his prime. Nick Greisen is only around 25. Carlos Emmons is the only "old" guy of our group. If they mesh well, they will play well. We have a good rotation on our defensive line, and some very good up and coming talent as well as solid veterans. Our defense is going to be head and shoulders better than last year, that is for sure.

The question mark lies within the QB...we have an O-Line. Petitgout and Seubert are a hell of a couple of lineman. We picked up Shaun O'Hara from Cleveland, for center. David Diehl stepped in last year at G and played very well. We need to just fill the other T position.

You need to watch every game of your team to know them, and some of the points you people make are just utterly moronic.

The Eagles will not even get as far as the NFC Championship game this year. McNabb is good, but he isn't even one of the top QB's in the league. T.O. is overrated and "The Phreak" gets turf toe walking across his kitchen. The Iggles are going to choke this year.

Can someone clarify something for me?

The Eagles seem to have a history of injuries. Both of their CBs and their star FS last season, Brian Westbrook, Correll Buckhalter the year before... McNabb frequently is injured... they tend to have a lot of injuries on the Defensive line...

Are they playing on turf? :chin:

Because I get the feeling that Kearse might not make it a full season... and if he ends up slowed by injuries, remember one thing: The Eagles signed him for a very long time for a very large sum of money.

And when I mentioned Owens being coached by Reid... what I said was, someone on ESPN.com stated that Reid has changed his philosophy to fit TO into the scheme.

If Andy Reid has changed his philosophy to allow TO to run free... how will that affect the team as a whole?

What if he has to let Owens run his mouth and do whatever he wants, which leads to more and more players running their mouth, to the point where Reid no longer has any power?

Lots of what-if's... but we can speculate, because Andy Reid has admittedly changed his approach to coaching. This is not the same Andy Reid who makes it to the NFC championship every year. Oh no. This is an Andy Reid under the thumb of his star receiver.
