What I think will/should happen at Summerslam: Benoit vs Orton *Possible Spoilers*
I believe that it is way too early to strap the belt on Orton and I am desperately hoping that this whole "Orton winning the belt' rumor is just a work. And if it is a work, it should be a HUGE work and throw everybody off.

One idea that I thought might hapen is that Orton cheats to win and goes around celebrating for a good 2 minutes or so so everybody thinks that he did it. Then Bischoff comes out and makes a massive face turn, saying that he can't have something like that be on his conscience. The match restarts and Benoit starts getting the upper hand. A bit later, on the Titantron we see Bischoff laid out in the hallway with no one else in sight. Both guys get knocked out in a spot of some kind and HHH makes his way to the ring. Trips goes into the ring and looks to Benoit as Orton is getting up. Trips turns to Orton and nails him the the Pedigree. Benoit locks in the Crossface on an unconscious Orton and Benoit wins the match.

Trips will claim that if anybody in Evolution is going to win the belt, it's gonna be him. It'll lead into a fat HHH vs Orton fued which will eventually pave the way for another Orton title shot and victory. Hopefully Trips will be grascious enough to put Orton over.

No Way. You can't, or I should say, you shouldn't do the falling out between Orton and Trips in one single shot. I would draw it out over weeks and maybe months until HHH and Evo. finally turn on Orton.

I agree. I also think the way you described might be a bit confusing to the casual fans. It would seem more like HHH is trying to turn face and help Benoit.

I know a lot of people cheer for Orton anyway, but I'm not sure how their reaction would be during the match. HHH runs down to the ring, the fans boo. He acts like he's gonna attack Benoit, fans boo some more. He turns and nails Orton instead, the normal fan reaction to such a move would be to cheer. It would all make sense the next night when we get the explanation, but I think that situation could ruin the initial heat that would be key to start such a big fued.

I agree with this and like AareDub said that would surely make people cheer HHH as he is helping the good guy Benoit and since the plan is apparently for Randy to be the face it would not be the best time to start the feud.

I dont find that to be a bad idea, but LC has a point in that they should draw it out...

A modified version of this would be that Trips Pedigrees Orton, then Benoit has a perplexed look on his face and he gets Pedigreed too... That way if they DO cheer Hunter, he would go back heel/stay heel...
