My Resident Evil 2 Review (Some spoilers)

Well this morning I woke up looking forward to seeing this movie....thats right...I was looking forward to seeing it. Unlike most people I actually liked the first film and I really wanted to see this one so I woke up this morning with that in mind. I went to the first showing at the theatre to beat the rush (and because tickets are cheaper then)

There is one thing for sure. This movie made me jump alot. Unlike the first movie which made me never jump out of my seat this one had alot of those moments. You can always tell when something was gonna happen because the music would go off and it would go silent but still even knowing that it was gonna happen made me jump even more.

The movie is action packed. There are few scenes with no action and basically they are trying to tell a story that makes little sense. It does show what happened during the time when Alice was in her little sleep thing which was pretty cool.

Sadly the action scenes ruined the film for me. Every time there was a hand to hand combat fight going on the camera would move around and switch from really fast to really slow and it just made me want to throw up. I was getting dizzy by what was going on. It was really hard to follow most of the action with all this going on.

The graphics for the movie were horrible. The graphics of the lickers and of Nemesis at the beginning were really bad in my standard. When I saw the graphics in the trailer I was hoping that they would be different in the film and boy was I wrong. Thankfully you dont have to sit through much of that because there are little scenes like that.

The movie has great comedy in it thanks to Mike Epps. What he does and says in the movie is basically reason alone to see it. If you dont laugh at the stuff this man does and says then you are basically crap. Thats right...I said crap.

Now the worst part of the whole movie is the ending-----------

Ok if you didnt like the ending to Alien vs predator then you are not gonna like this one. They turned the Nemesis from something that we feared in the games into something that we would all want as a friend. Instead of having Nemesis be bad and then having Alice kill him they actually have him turn good at the end. It was horrible but worked a little bit. And sadly the very end was horrible. They leave it open for there to be another movie but it was just crap. They could of left it open in a different way. Instead they leave you to go on thinking that she has ESP and that she is under there control.

The ending is crap but I encourage any fan of the first one to see this one. You will get your moneys worth....unless you spend $9. But just stay and leave before the end happens. It will make you look forward to the next one a whole lot more.

I hope this review was helpful to some because it was my first big review to post on here. HAVE A NICE DAY

Oh yea and stick through half the credits for the This product was brought to you by Unbrella thing. It wasnt great but I laughed a little bit.

Agreed,I just watched it this afternoon and it was great.Mike Epps really stole the show he was funny as hell.My rating 4/5 stars didn't get the full 5 because of a lackluster ending.

I'm going to see it tonight, but I kinda knew I would be expecting another ending to set up for Resident Evil: Afterlife

Does anyone happen to know the name of the song that played as the credits started to roll? I know Slipknot was the next song but the first one sounded pretty good and I wanted to listen to it again.

Would it happen to be the song in the trailer, if so, it's Papa Roach - Not Listening, but then again, you may be talking about a different song

I wan't impressed by what I saw of the first movie (kept flipping back to TV without pausing due to lack of interest), and it sounds like the second is more of the same.

Movies based on videogames...

I saw the movie last night. I enjoyed the first one, and was really excited about seeing this one back then. However, time passed and my excitement died down to the point where I wasn't expecting much out of this one. It was a poor story plagued by outdated effects and horrible acting. "I'm good, but I'm not that good" The chick that played Jill can't act her way out of a paper bag.

It seemed like they were trying to rely on those cheap scare tactics we've all become so familiar with. As soon as the music cut away.... OMG LOUD NOISE!!!! *theatre jumps*

The fight scenes were very reminiscent of AVP, I wish the filmmakers were able to find the zoom function on the cameras so the could zoom out some on the fight scenes. Every single fight scene involved lots of camera movement, too many closeup shots to know what was going on, then camera slows down and shows somebody hit a wall. *theatre says ooooooh*

Finally, this movie has what I call "A.I. Syndrome." It has too many endings for its own good. This "syndrome" is when you're sitting in the theatre thinking, "ok it's over now," then you realize you've said it 4 times and the movie still isn't over. It's when the movie should end, yet they add another 20 minutes to it with several more endings mixed in. They give you each ending point, then leave you with the worst one at the end causing you to leave the theatre feeling let down.

The more I think about it, the less I can remember anything I actually enjoyed about the movie (other than Mike Epps). This one gets 2 out of 5 stars in my book.

One more thing. I'm really surprised that they didn't play up the fact that the helicopter crashed into running water. Y'know if any of the infected blood were to get into the water supply they could be in some serious trouble. I thought for sure that's where they were headed with the 3rd movie, but instead they managed to drag the movie out for 15 more minutes and change it again.

That Hitch movie with Will Smith looked funny as hell. Plus that Static movie with Michael Keaton looked pretty interesting.

Not even half of those songs were used in the movie. Those are just songs put on a soundtrack CD to promote both the movie and the bands. Same as all movies these days.

Sorta like the soundtrack to that movie with Jet Li in it The One. Not any of the songs that played during the movie were even on the soundtrack I dont think.
