So i'm just watchin the first KOTR on the tagged classics DVD i just got, and its being commentated by JR, The Brain and Savage. And I make a 'slightly' bold statement when i say - Savage has to be the single worst announcer ever!

Example -

Brain - 'These humanoids are putting Razor Ramon off his game by chanting '1-2-3' thats completly unfair!'

J.R - 'It has nothing to do with that chant and you know it! The momentum of this match has shifted simply because of Bret Hart's in-ring abilty!

Savage - 'Oooooooh Yeah! First King of the Ring Eveeeeer!!! Ooooooooo Yeah!!!

lol, that's was Savage was great though. Cause he just came out with stuff out of nowhere.

And Tagged Classics My DVD player is only American. I thought it was a Multi-Region too. Those DVD's are great.

Savage was hillarious, so was Piper. The best wrestlter turned commentator of that era was Hennig though.

i agree with you on Hennig. Although Lawler was pretty good before 'puppies'. And Bill DeMott is looking pretty promising too. I would like to see Angle as a commentator when he retires though.

I know its a little different from the topic, but who do you guys think was/is the best comedy announcer?

They're only available in Region 2, I believe, which is UK. If you have a region free player, you can watch them.

Savage is not that bad of an commentator. As a rapper... that's a whole different story all together. "Macho Man dot com / on your Cd-rom/ Ooooh Yeahhh!!."

Yes, Hennig was a great commentator. Even as a commentator, he remained so arrogant and cocky that he knew so much about the sport, it just made him a cooler guy in my book. He is perfection.

How can you all forget the travesty known as Art Donovan?

He's comedy gold and had clearly never even seen a wrestling match.

-He asked how much EVERY wrestler weighed (apparently, Tatanka weighed 280lbs)
-He asked who Shawn Michaels was.
-He asked who Lex Luger was.
-He asked who Jim Niedhart was.
-When IRS came down to the ring and cut a promo, he asked if he was a wrestler.
-He said "is this real"

I liked it towards the end when Gorilla and Savage completely ignored every single thing the crazy old fool said.
