Shelton Banjamin
I hafta ask...what is so great about shelton Banjamin.
I mean, on the mic, he is only average. and inthe ring, all he does is punch and splashes ppl in the corner. He does have a brilliant look to him, but other than that, what else does he have? |

True, Jazz does appear to have male genitals tucked in her feminine ring attire. But for now, I'm giving her

Shelton Benjamin has "IT".
Eventhough his in ring is good it is not as refined as it could be and his promos are by no means stellar but he has the X factor and that makes him very valuable as a future star. He reminds me of some old tapes I have of Sting (and not just because of the splashes) he wasnt amazingly good on the mic like he became. And his ring work wasnt even as good as Benjamins but he had the X factor that made all of that ok because he was fun to watch and you knew he would only get better. |

Benjamin is great in the ring. Watch his matches on SmackDown!, and his matches with Triple H on RAW. Plus he works the crowd into his matches with a special blend of charisma. It was magical watching him slap Triple H on the face. He may not be a Rock on the mic, or quite a Benoit in the ring, but he will get better both ways, and he will be making the company money in the future.

At this point, it's mostly Shelton's ringwork which is great.
He is VERY nervous on the microphone, which reminds me a lot of early Benoit. I don't know if he'll ever get over that...maybe he'll just have to get angry on the mic to really show what he's made of. The only thing, Shelton suffers from "latter-day-WWE/John Cena" syndrome... which is a lame finisher. He's either using the Super Kick (which everyone from Lance Storm to Steven Richards uses) or that weird T-Bone Powerslam deal. I think the most mediocre wrestlers can make their matches -that- much more interesting if their finisher adds up (would anyone say they'd be hyped over Petey Williams if he didn't break out weird X-Factor looking moves and the Canadian Destroyer? And how lame was Scott Steiner in WWE without his Steiner Screwdriver?)... while WWE is playing musical chairs with their finishers as of late, a lot of the new crop is missing out. Soon, we'll see someone using an umpteenth Flatliner for a finisher. |

Shelton was great in WGTT.
but lately, he seems to me to not offer anything to the table, so to speak. He seems pretty limited in most aspects of in ring work. I;'d say he's destined to be a tag team wrestler unless he can get some new moves or something. Charlie on the other hand...BRILLIANT TALENT! |

I think Shelton's just suffering from return-o-phobia. Not to mention he may not be comfortable with the RAW style. If you had him on SmackDown! he'd be like a shark in water, but on RAW he's a bit more like a scuba diver. When he fully adapts, though, I sense big things for this kid.

Shelton is very good in the ring and his promos aren't bad. I think quite frankly that him and Haas are destined for success in the WWE.

WTF is everyone talking about? Shelton Benjamin is one of the WWE's best current ring technicians, especially on Raw. Of course he's not gonna be able to show it all off because he's in there with guys like Cripple H and "Geriatric Boy" Ric Flair. Does anyone really think HHH can handle that much chain wrestling at his size and injury frequency?
If you notice, since coming to Raw he's had to do much less technical stuff (more punching, less suplexes, more Stinger Splashes). He keeps from being boring by maintaining his intensity throughout the matches he's in. He's a lot like Randy Orton on the mic: not so good to begin with, but he's getting a little better. With more practice, he'll seem more natural on the stick. The only downside I see with him is that he's surrering from crappyfinisheritis. |

I think he is great in the ring. I just dont like the Benjamin character. It just seems odd to me. He has had some good matches for a new comer but his character just seems to original to me. Plus I hate how his finisher is just like a scoop slam. When they let him beat wrestlers with that move I was thinking..."There is no way in hell a tiny guy like that can beat these guys with a freaking scoop slam". So like yall I agree....better finisher is needed.

Shelton must be blackmailing HHH. What with all the wins he gets over him and how HHH hasn't squashed him yet.

Benjamin has a lot of raw talent (no that isn't a pun,) he has true enthusiasm, and from everything I've heard, he's very likable backstage. He's everything you want in a young guy, and if Vince knows anything he'll be wearing the IC belt by WM21. |

Elevated Texas Cloverleaf
Rings of Saturn Funky, these could be winners. Both can be applied relatively fast and look painful. I'd like these ones. |

If they keep Benjamin up as a strong character, he will be more than established by then. He's been in the WWE since 2003 (I think), always in a high profile situation.

I actually wasn't that big of a fan of Shelton until his first match against HHH just after the draft. It was probably the most entertaining match I had seen him in. Shelton, being a rookie would keep one-upping HHH. So that match really made me a fan of his.

plus Orton got the belt about a year and a half after he came in. Shelton has been here since 2003, like Alienoid said. That's 3 years then. In WWE terms, that's a lifetime.

He's only been on Raw for a year, give or take. And yes, he's been beating HHH, but H just seems to ignore him. I dunno, maybe I just don't see that angle bein' played in a year. But hey...I don't own the company.

The thing I like about Shelton is that he's got great ring speed and his set moves are really fun to watch. Calling him a great technical wrestler is a little premature. He's had some good matches, but not enough ones past the 10-15 minute mark where you could really judge his technical abilities.
His mic work is pretty terrible, he sounds scare don the mic, but that should come aorund in time. He's also up in the top way too soon. They obviously dont want to seriously push him, but they like having him around to wrestle Hunter. If they had done a slow build with him he'd be more over, but nobody gets slow builds. You either get no push or too much too soon. |

People respect the kid for the great wrestling talent he has, nothing more. He's not that great on the mic, I agree with that, but in the ring, he's absolutely amazing. I just love watching him wrestle, I don't care about the storylines and feuds they give him.
