Windows Update

every once in a while my computer gives me some update thing from Windows that I should download, so I do it. it gave me one yesterday and it installed this whole new windows security thing, and it just put on a firewall and all this stuff, and I still have Norton running. now my computer is just going really slow. usually I could open a webpage in like two seconds now it takes about 40. it is affecting ths speed of programs and overall performance.

I'm pretty sure that it is the new Windows security that is causing everything to go slow, because it just started once it installed. has this happened to anyone else, or do you know what I should do?

It sounds like you downloaded SP2 and if that's the case you can just disable the Windows Firewall and the those things. There may be an icon near your clock where you can just right click and disable from there or there are some Security options on your start menu and control panel. Just open it up and disable.
