When you say gone gold, you mean it's sold a bunch of pre orders already or what?

It means it's in it's final version ready for the cd production to start proper.

Yeah basically what Jonster said. The final master copy of the game is burnt onto a gold CD (hence the term) and is then ready for mass production.

Wanna know why millions of young men won't vote November 2nd..? Because it's 7 days before something important. I know I need a week to get ready. I have to clean my room for the inevitable guest that will worship Halo 2 with me. Gotta break it to this chick that no; she isn't the most important thing to me right then. Have to stock up my little cool-box with snacks and stuff. Have to give Halo 1 a proper burial. And then there's writing a goodbye letter to life outside of XBox Live. (GT: Kalyx triaD)
