He didn't seem to have an ego when he didn't get the ball in Oakland so I think he can fit in with the Seahawks and hopefully get deep into the playoffs for one last time.

he's earned the right to play, I thought it would have been better if he ended up in detroit for 1 or 2 years... Williams and Rogers would learn so much from him, not to mention he has leadership he would bring.

He didn't have an Ego?

I dunno, asking for a trade due to lack of playing time sounds like an Ego to me... Which is something he was never known for in the past... maybe he just wants to prove he can still do it...

You can look at it that way. What I meant was that I don't think he will make the team any better, he will be the third wide reciever at best. Remember when Cris Carter played for the Dolphins in his last season? It didn't matter at all.

And its not like he is a Karl Malone type, where he hasn't won a championship. He's just an aging guy now.

This is a great trade for everyone involved.

Rice wanted to play on a team that would actually use them. Oakland is finally starting to get a bit younger, so they decided they didn't want him anymore. Personally I would've still used him for this year and possibly next, if I were Oakland, but that's their call. Jerry doesn't have an ego, he just wants to play. It had nothing to do with money or glory or anything, he just wanted to be on a team that would let him play. So this is good for Rice.

It is a great move by Seattle. With Robinson likely out for 4 weeks because of his suspension, they get a great fill-in for him. Rice can step in and be their #2 guy right away. I think Rice and Holmgren played together (well, played/coached) in San Fran, so Rice won't be going into a completely new system or anything. And even better, the 'Hawks only gave up a 7th-round pick for him.

And for Oakland, it was a pretty good move. They avoided a potential media disaster by giving Rice a chance to go, and they still ended up getting something in return, when they could have easily just released him. Granted, it's only a 7th-round pick, but that's better than nothing. They got rid of a player they aren't using at all, freeing up salary and a roster spot, and got a draft pick out of it.

I guess the only disappointing thing is that, to fans, the greatest receiver in NFL history was traded for a 7th-round pick because he was basically dead weight on his team.

Make no doubt, I am a fan of Rice and want to see him finish his career in a good way. It was a sad day when he didn't have a catch a few weeks ago. Just realistically I am not expecting that much from him on Seattle. Just a real solid #3 guy.

As a raiders fan, i think its pretty bad the way they treated him, him not being in there plans is fair enough, but do the decent thing, dont break a record that i think i heard went back to 77, and dont embarras the guy as he is deffo hall of fame bound, sad to see rice go as he was my favorite player, but im glad he will get the chance to bow out like he deserves too and a plus we got something from it

77? Is that counting college and high school? Cause he wasn't drafted till the 1980's...

a great peice of work by the New England Patriots back then... They delt I think the #14 to SF which became Rice and the pick they got back on the 1st round too TE Trevor Matitch, which the only thing I can ever remember him doing is catching a TD for the Jets to beat the Pats in a game.

Yep. KR's dropped more passes than Rice has caught.

Dropped passes is what beat them against the Pats. So maybe this will give them a lift?

THIS JUST IN, Cowboys get Morgan from Cleveland for Antonio Bryant. Not surprised seeing as there was a little bit of history between Bryant and Parcells. I think Bryant had potential but for some reason never broke beyond no.2 on the depth chart. And Morgan has talent but not having his best year, so I guess this is good for both sides.

I was hoping that Bryant was going to turn into a star in Dallas, but it just didn't work out that way.

Here's looking at Quincy Morgan.
