Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - We Have the Planned Release Date for Season 2

This past weekend we relayed the news that the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series would see a new DVD release in the Spring of 2005. One of our regular news contributors, Pavan Badal, has followed up with Lions Gate on this and reports that they have penciled in a release date of April 26th for what he describes as a "Season 2 DVD" release. Of course the date could move, since it hasn't been officially announced yet, but right now that's what we're looking at. Our thanks to Pavan for letting us know! Stay tuned for more info about this as we get closer to that timeframe.

Yessssss

I was so disappointed with the Season 1 DVD, because there were only a few episodes.. And those bonus episodes sucked ass.

It'll be nice to see a bigger bulk of the old episodes though.

Of course those Bonus Episodes sucked. That was when the turtles were going downhill.

I cant wait for season 2. I picked up season 1 the first day because I saw it by accident. Cant wait for season 2. ...I just wished season 1 had a few more episodes on it but it was well worth the $10

There are 5 "Season 1" eps and 4 "Never Before Seen!" eps. The NBS eps are from the tail end of the Turtles' run.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - "Heroes in a Half Shell" are back in action

Earlier today DVDEmpire.com posted release information for the second season of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They've listed April 26th as the release date for the next 13 episodes in the series. Episodes include:
  1. Return of the Shredder
  2. The Incredible Shrinking Turtles
  3. It Came from Beneath the Sewers
  4. The Mean Machines
  5. Curse of the Evil Eye
  6. Case of the Killer Pizzas
  7. Enter: the Fly
  8. Invasion of the Punk Frogs
  9. The Catwoman from Channel Six
  10. Return of the Technodrome
  11. New York's Shiniest
  12. Splinter No More
  13. Teenagers from Dimension X
The 289 min DVD will include English stereo sound, and a 1.33:1 picture. DVDEmpire has cover art on their site, but we'll try and get some unmodified artwork from Lions Gate directly. We were unable to get ahold of anyone at the studio to ask about special features; DVDEmpire doesn't list any. The SRP for the disc is $14.98, though Empire is preselling it for just $9.89.
