Team Orton...

How the hell is the Raw face team for SS being lead by the young, and arguably the most inexperenced guy on the team?

I mean come on, they really should have thought this one through, can Orton expect to be respected by Beniot or Jericho, both veterns of the business, with decade long careers?

Now, it can be argued that Orton gained a measure of respect from Beniot when Orton beat him for the Heavy Weight title (if forget was it clean?), but was it enough repsect to follow Orton?

But with Jericho, I don't believe it at all. Jericho is an ego maniac, his character shouldn't let him follow Orton's lead. Also there should be a measure of tension between him and Beniot, what with their storied past.

Maven is a bitch, so I don't care about him.

I love how they have the heels all playing against each other, but the faces really should be as disorganized as the heels are. I mean a few weeks ago when the faces were all unifed against Evolution that was good, but it should have started to crack by now.

I look at Bentoit as the leader. I still see him as the bigger name.

I mean at RAW when Triple H was talking about how no one could beat him the fans didn't chant RKO they chanted "You Tapped Out".

I think they have to let Bentoit pick up the ball again.

I think the team should really be leaderless, with Benoit & Jericho trying to maintain control, while Maven & Orton scatter for the head positions as well I think before the match at Survivor Series,we should really see soe tension between the members of boths teams.

Orton did beat Benoit cleanly, but I agree. It would be cool if there were dissention in the ranks on both sides.

I don't see how Orton shouldn't be the leader. He's currently feuding with HHH so it makes sense.

Least experience? The man has 24 years of experience. He's a 3rd Generation Superstar. It's in his blood. It's like saying Kama Mustafa should have lead the Nation instead of The Rock

Because:

1. Orton has spent the lats few ears trying to destroy these guys.

2. Jericho & Benoit respectively have twice as much experience as Maven & Orton put together.

3. Benoit believes he is the best, Jericho believes he is the best, Orton believes he is the best and Im sure Maven believes he is the best.

4. Orton has barely any leadership experience.

I'm glad Bischoff just called it "Team Orton". Maybe we will see Benoit, Jericho & Maven all refer to it as their team in pre-match promos to cause conflict.

Well Faarooq helped make The Rock a star, just like HHH did for Randy Orton.

Now that Orton is an established name, it only makes sense for him to lead his team.

That is why, to me, it is team Jericho!
Jericho is leader, no doubt about it! Benoit doesnt care about being leader, because to him, all he wants to do is kick ass, and it makes no different if he is assigned leader.

I like the idea of him being the glue, and then turning heel at the PPV. That's why they should have made this match before when they did. Have the match signed maybe as soon as Unforgiven, then have the faces try and adjust to Orton, but when they finally "accept" him, he claims he is the leader. This just eats up Benoit & Jericho, but Maven says they should just stick together.

Anyway, with Maven the only glue this team has, at Survivor Series when he turns, we then see a breakdown on the face side of things. This could be carried all the way to the Royal Rumble, so you have a complete warzone in there with emotions running wild.

This whole thing is about Orton vs. HHH. The entire Survivor Series style match is just more build-up for the eventual Randy Orton vs. Triple H World title match at Wrestlemania 21. You think the WWE cares about Benoit or Jericho right now? They aren't doing anything except being part of Randy's team. They have no storylines or feuds.

On Smackdown, the teams are constantly shifting because all of the members have something going on. Mysterio leaves his team to wrestle for the cruiserweight title, Carlito is the US Champ, Guerrero has been feuding with Reigns and Angle, and Big Show is dealing with them as well. **SPOILER** Now, Cena is back in the mix and it all works out because of his history with Caribbean.

On RAW, the story is completely different. Everyone in that 8-man match is a pawn in the chess game that is Randy Orton vs. Triple H.

I still think it should of been hurricane instead of Maven in the group, since most people would care more about a Hurricane heel turn then a Maven one...which would be forgotten 2 months later, then 3 months after that he would magically be a face again....

Anyway, with Maven the only glue this team has, at Survivor Series when he turns, we then see a breakdown on the face side of things. This could be carried all the way to the Royal Rumble, so you have a complete warzone in there with emotions running wild.
WAIT!!!! so...you mean, the WWE fucked up!
Thats umpossible

It's too bad that Orton is getting the shot at HHH. I'd rather Jericho be in that spot.

Just like to correct Mr sunday night, benoit is in a feud with Edge, dunno about jericho though, guess he'll feud with Batista after survivor series? Also, ive just realised in the UK we have to pay for the next three PPV's- Survivor Series/ Armageddon& Royal Rumble, fuck.

They totally fucked up Hurricane. I was really looking forward to his heel turn (which I'm not sure if they went though with or not...haven't watched heat in a while). They show something that has promise, then back out at the last second so they can air more HHH promos.

Orton is way over-rated anyways. That match with Batista was awful. Not good at all, which proves the fact that he only has top notch matches with guys like Benoit and Jericho etc.otherwise you cant yet expect Orton to carry wastes of space like Batista. Orton just isn't leadership material right now, nor is he even as over as Jericho. To me I'd have the two guys who have been in wars throughout their careers lead, as they should..not this kid who still as of yet cannot cut it in the ring compared to the 2 chris's.

Batista rules, dick hole.

Anyhow, yeah, that match was kind of lacking, and I blame Orton because Batista held his end up...I wish Batista wouldn't sell so much, and just went out and destroyed.

Personally, my question is not so much "Why is Orton a captain?" as it is "What the FUCK is Snitsky got to do with ANYTHING?!" Why the HELL is he in that match?! But that's just me....

What's he got to do with anything? He may look like just a big guy thrown in there for no reason other then to make the heel team look menacing.... but he DOES fit in. How? I'll tell you. That baby he punted? Maven's!

I love you.

One reason why Orton is leader now, simply put: He is ratings now and is fueding with HHH. Sure, Jericho and Benoit could be the leader but they will have their turn when they fued with the main event heel.

And there is a reason why Benoit and J are teaming up with Orton: their hatred for Evolution and equal amount of respect for each other. Benoit shoke hands after the title match, J and Benoit are friends, J and Orton have teamed up before, and Maven just likes everybody.

*EDIT - I GOT CUT OFF BEFORE I COULD WRITE ABOUT MAVEN..*

You know, you have a point there... A lot of times when I really REALLY hate a babyface, like I want to bash their brains in with a ballpeen hammer, I find that after they turn heel and everybody boos them I can stand them. It's like little Spike Dudley. Before he was the little prick with a napoleon complex he was the little prick who didn't do anything except ruin the credibility of up and coming heels. Hated him then, don't mind him now. So yeah. Turn Maven He----oh wait...JBL. Never mind. I take everything back. Kill JBL and Nuke India.

Having Maven in the elimination match is a slap in the face to the rest of the hard working roster that deserves his spot more than he does. What has Maven done to prove himself capable of wrestling in RAW's main event match? Nothing and it's gonna bite WWE in the ass when Maven's gets heat during the match.

I also think Jericho or Benoit are better leaders than Orton, but it's logical since he's being pushed the most.
