Question JBL

i was watching Smackdown today and saw JBL do his promo about if he loses, he will leave smackdown forever and it got me thinking that because he's been on TV so long he might actually lose the title and then go to raw, lets say after armagedan. and that got me thinking what would he do over there and i thought he could probably fit in with evolution as he seems to have the look down, and if they do turn ric flair face he would probably fit in pretty well....or they might have him lose by DQ, leave smackdown with the belt, return at WM and have him and trips have a unification match and join the belts and make it one roster again.

thoughts

(just idea's, pretty unlikely...... except the one with JBL leaving till WM and having no title for Armageddan or No Way Out as that seems to be the way the WWE would do things )

No, he doesn't fit evolution at all. He is to much of a cowardly goof. Evolution aren't goof, and they aren't exactly cowards either.

I could see JBL going to RAW, and maybe start off by screwing us all over and running RAW while Eric Bischoff is out, somehow finding a way to override the stipulation of the RAW Elimination Match at Survivor Series.

I think JBL would fit Evolution, because he's got that toughness factor (he's almost a bridge between Triple H & Batista's characters). I could definately see him taking the WWE Championship with him after he loses to Booker T, and refuse to hand it over. I could really see a RAW vs. SmackDown! thing established with Armageddon and New Year's Revoluiton competeing in terms of innovation and matches, while the Royal Rumble brings an actaul RAW and SmackDown! split match.

That's what I'm thinking. Maybe we will see Eric Bischoff as a "support" General Manager on both brands, or as an extra representing the "Board of Directors" or something of the like? Maybe an Eric Bischoff vs. Theodore R. Long feud on SmackDown! for control of the blue brand? I would love to see Eric Bischoff start a revolution against Theodore R. Long, by taking Velocity hostage, and holding matches for all championships on it, etc. This could really turn around the way we look at "B" shows, and the way talent is utilised.

Another idea is for JBL or Bischoff to manage RAW, while Teddy Long manages SmackDown! and Bischoff/JBL (whoever isn't managing RAW) handles Heat & Velocity. Or JBL could just be the reverse of what I posted first with the new brand or the hostage thing, and try and take SmackDown!.

Yes! That would be great (in my mind anyway). JBL could then pretty much start a RAW vs. SmackDown! feud. Maybe even change the name of the RAW brand to "WCW"? It would be interesting to see how Orlando Jordan would react. He would be the suspected mole type character, and thus lead to him revealing he was loyal to SmackDown! (or the "WWE"), and he defects to WCW.

Actually, why stop there. Maybe JBL could "purchase" both RAW & SmackDown!. I'mnot sure what would happen then, but we could see RAW & SmackDown! split as seperate entities under "Layfield Corporations". You can keep them as RAW & SmackDown!, or you can change them to WWE and WCW. Then you could have Bottom Line changed to "Nitro", and Afterburn changed to "Velocity", and Afterburn changed to "Thunder", and have them serve as five hours a week of each "companies'" build-up.

Sadly, I think you're right.

I'd rather see JBL lose though, and have him show up on RAW and rename everything to WCW. Have him "seperate" it from the WWE, and have Vince McMahon come out pissed on SmackDown! stating that Bradshaw betrayed him and took his live slot. Vince McMahon then tells us he's announcing SmackDown! will air live Monday nights. McMahon says he's not going to give his only competition any room to breathe, he's just going ot flatten JBL into the ground and make him wish he was Justin Hawk all over again.

Another idea is to just have JBL "purchase" the WCW rights, and have him appear on RAw & SmackDown! to advertise his new promotion. Nitro will air every Monday night in an attempt to compete with RAW, and Thunder will air every Thursday night.

Ive heard that too.

I was reading Meltzer's preview of the show, and he made a good point about them needing to do make the shoe noteworthy (the RAW match stip just doesn't do it for me). And more importantly, I think they need something to shake up the whole company. I've been saying for a while that I dont feel any kind of spark for the things they are building to (HHH-Orton/Taker-Angle). So if they can do something to skae up both shows, I'd be all for it.

The problem I have with JBL dropping and then going to RAW is that SD would once again lose another top end guy. For better or worse JBL has been the focal point of SD basically since May, and for them to lose him with nothing in return would be another sign that SD = "B" brand.

The other problem I see is that without JBL on SD, they all of a sudden become dangerously thin on the heel side. You've got Angle as the top heel, and then Carlito (but he's hurt) and after that you've got very little. Heidenreich could be squashed tonight, and Jindrak and Reigns aren't exactly legit top guys. After that there are the CW's, and unless they are really going to push that division as a top level thing, there will be a huge gap.

They could always turn somebody, but who?

I guess if they went with the idea that was rumoured where Benoit would jump to SD and link up with Heyman as a heel, that might work. And then there is the "lets turn RVD and push him" fantasy, but that aint happening.

On the positive side, they've done a decent job building up BT in the last month, and if he goes on last tonight and wins the title that will perhaps make the SD title look more valuable. And then if you go on to an Angle-BT program over a few months, I think they could really help the title's credibility. Which would lead into whatever they want to do at Mania.

Meanwhile JBL would add a new element to RAW, and I guess would be used to heat up Orton going into Mania.

I guess we'll know what decision they've made relatively early on. If Angle survives in his match, then they've likely went with the title switch (set up BT vs Angle), if Show is really dominant and wins the match, then JBL likely retains and they do JBL-Show at Armageddon and Show-Angle for the Rumble in order to get the title on Angle prior to Mania.

I agree. I'm not really feeling the programs developing in the WWE right now. I could really adjust if they sent Shawn Michaels to SmackDown!, and head Angle vs. HBK headline Mania main event for the WWE Championship.

Booker T could win the title (which I hope he does), but I'm really smelling a six-man Hell in a Cell or an Elimination Chamber coming along at Armageddon. I can see Bradshaw defending in that match much more easily than I can see Booker T defending the WWE Championship in one. Anyway, I'd put the title on Angle at Armageddon, then have HBK as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble. HBK goes on to win, and then faces Kurt Angle at Mania in a classic build-up, one-on-one match WrestleMania 21.

JBL shows up on RAW after losing, and proceeds to "turn RAW around". He makes the matches seem more valid, and he fires talent that he's paying too much for just eating company time (Chris Jericho, The Hurricane, Stacy Keibler etc.). All of them go to SmackDown! a fuel a Vince McMahon's SmackDown! vs. JBL's RAW.

I think the JBL/Benoit switch is most likely to happen if JBL were to lose tonight.

Let's say JBL does end up on RAW tomorrow night. JBL comes out and does a promo about how he was responsible for making Smackdown a better program, and now he hopes to do the same with RAW. JBL mentions how he'd like to win the RAW title, but shows respect to Triple H being champion, and decides against it (typical ploy).

I could see JBL in a short feud with Orton, going over the former WWE Champion in the end to give him more momentum going after Triple H's title.

If JBL wins the title, Booker will have some sort of rematch the next PPV and THEN he'll win

I'm predicting a Hell in a Cell at Armageddon with JBL vs. Booker T vs. The Undertaker vs. The Big Show vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle. This is where they'd take the title off JBL, and put it on Kurt Angle, The Big Show or Booker T.

I can see that happening, and then that would lead to Bischoff getting pissed and a start to a RAW vs. SmackDown! thing. I'd actually rather see the match a Hell in a Cell, because it would have that 2000 feel to it, and would make Armageddon sound like a more traditional PPV if annually there is a six-man HIAC.
