Triple H Belt Info

Since September 2, 2002, when the title was brought back

Triple H held the title for 538 days
that's 538/829 days

so for the past 2 and 1/4 years, triple H held the title 65% of the time

Benoit had it for 19% of the time
Goldberg 10%
HBk 3%
Orton 3%

so yeah, only 4 other people have held the title, and if you add the time of those 4 reigns together, it still doesn't equal close to the amount of time trips has held it. The only title switch that did not involve triple h was Orton/Benoit. And to top it all off, Triple H held it for 9 and a half months straight once!

RIDICULOUS!!!

oh yeah.. numbers may not be exact, sorry if i calculated anything wrong, but i'm pretty sure it was done correctly.

We all complain about triple H, and all knew this to the point of estimation, but I thought some near exact mathematical statistics would be fun

you have to admit that this is overkill, if it stopped at benoit i'd be fine with it, plus I didn't post this to argue the issue, just wanted to show the actual numbers for anyone who was curious (i calculated cuz i have no life and was curious -_-)

but yeah long reigns are good, but the thing that bugs me is that everytime he loses it, he gets it back in such a short period of time, he just can't let go of it.

Sorry Gohan couldn't resist.

But seriously, we're talking about atitle that was considered little more than a joke. His reign gave the title a lot of credibility. Long face reigns aren't as entertaining as long heel reigns. Fans enjoy watching a face chase the title more than they do defending it. So naturally Face reigns aren't going to be as long.

Thanks for posting that, Gohan.

I don't mind long-title reigns, but I really think guys like Edge should get just as much chance with the title. And whatever happened to the classic Triple H/The Rock close competition title swapping feuds. It doesn't exactly make the titles credible, but when it is swapped between two people regularly, it makes them look main event calibur, and makes the competition for the title look tough.

A long title reign can bring prestige and crediblity to a title however it is not a guarantee. Merely having a reign last long does not mean the title is credible.

Yeah TNA been in existence for like 140 weeks and Jeff Jarret and AJ Stlyes have held the world title for like 130 of those weeks.

I'm all for long title reigns. I enjoy seeing talent get held down.

Key phrase is in the quotes.

Too bad during his reign, he's buried Kane, Booker T, Jericho, and depushed Orton to an extent. The only guy he didn't personally bury was Benoit, and he was just kinda abandoned by the writers after he dropped the belt.

He sure did bury Benoit. When Benoit had the belt, his programs were 2nd to HHH's. That's not what a Champion is suppossed to have. The Champion should have the main programs on a show.

Yeah, HHH's reigns have been long and it's good to an extent, but it loses credibility when he loses the Title only to get it back later and hold it long again and the pattern repeats

Triple H is the franchise on Raw, and I am pretty sure that the marks all see him as the best in the business since he keeps on winning the titles. Unfortunately, this does not do the smarks any favours because most of them are sick of him holding down talent that haven't had the belt before, but that is the way that it goes when you are the son in law of the boss.

long heel title reigns are good.

I guess that is why JBL's reign is so cool now. And that is why the World title looks as good as it does. I mean now whoever wins the belt will actually look like a real world champion. Although still I hope that Edge doesn't win it. I mean as a heel he is gettin better, but I still don't see him as world champion material yet.

Seeing those numbers, I for one will now refer to Raw as "The HHH Show" from now on.

Like LC said, Benoit's championship reign played a supporting role to Triple H's lead. It's like when you know the show is called "Family Matters" but you always call it the "Urkel show" because every storyline revolved around that character. But worst of all, if HHH is holding ANYONE down, it's the other heels. We had a chance to see Kane take the lead heel role on Raw, but it was shot down. We saw the rise and fall of Team Christian (which doesn't even appear onscreen with Trish anymore...) and no title run anywhere in there. Edge recently had a chance to win it and still does, but we all know how it'll turn out.

I have a bad feeling that HHH will slap us all in the face very soon by winning the championship from....well, himself. He'll be a 8 time champion (or is it 9?) just because he wants to break some new record and make himself something bigger than what he is.

Granted, he is still entertaining, and by no means is he undeserving of the top heel spot, but not backing down to let others into the spotlight is exactly what got WCW in trouble. Maybe he should take a look at history and learn to let the company take a few risks from time to time...

Well, Triple H is World Heavyweight Champion no MORE! So I am curious to where the days of NO CHAMPION will fit into this mathematical equation. Anyways, Triple H can now brag that he never lost his title, which will make the winner of the tournament look like a loser in the end after all.

Triple H should have just dropped the title to Orton at the Rumble 2005 or Wrestle Mania 21. Then after that loss, Triple H can never ever win another World Championship because it discards his loss to Orton, just like Benoit's win over Triple H has been discarded because Tripel H was once again champion after like five months.

Long title reigns CAN have their advantages but not when you put on shit matches on a consistant basis.

However, we should never again mention CREDIBILITY and a WWE title in the same sentence ever again .... because it is never going to happen.
