What do you guys think about this idea? HHH/Shane potential storyline

I was watching the movie: "Gladiator" the other day and it made me think of what could be a great storyline down the road.

Ok as everybody knows HHH is married to Stephanie McMahon, Vince's daughter. Vince McMahon (the character) would come out and announce to the World that he is retiring as the Chairman of WWE. Triple H could come out as he expects Vince to give him the company since HHH is Vince's son in law. Vince reveals to HHH that his son Shane (not HHH) will be taking over the company. Vince leaves the ring and HHH looks livid.

Later on in the show Vince and Shane are shown in the parking lot beat up and bloodied as if someone really did a number on them. Everyone thinks HHH did it but Trips denies the allogations (although he really is the culperet).

HHH comes out the next week and tells the world that Vince had changed his mind and has gave him control of the company. Everyone else doesn't buy into HHH's tactics as they know something is up. Stephanie (who lies and eventually turns heel) tells everyone else that her father really did give HHH control of the company and everyone is forced to obey Hunter.

A month or so later HHH books himself in a World Title match against Jericho. HHH hits the Pedigree but the referee is down. Out comes Shane McMahon who nails HHH with a Sledgehammer costing him the title.

This could be a start of a great feud IMO leading to a Street Fight type of a match or a PPV. Maybe they could fight in a winner enherits the WWE match with Street Fight Rules. Shane could win due to Vince's interference. Then after the match they can somehow show Vince pass the torch to his son Shane.

What do you think?

I am not scared of the guy who's one big move is pumping up his reeboks!!!

Sounds good, but it'd be better if Vince told Shane backstage that he was getting the company...then HHH does the number on them in the parking lot.

No, it doesn't make since, HHH and Steph are divorced in the story line deal. So HHH has no "rightful" claim to the throne especially when Vince declares Shane as the new Chairman.

Well let's just say that HHH and Steph "got back together" and than JR tells the audience the next week that the couple got re-married in a private ceremony

Still no, to many plot holes. Now, if HHH was named as the new chairman, and Shane got pissed, then...then you might be on to somehting.

Can't say I like it. I'm sick of the McMahon's in the main storylines. I would rather see HHH, put a wrestler over. Not that he would, but I dont want to see McMahons on TV.

I like the idea, but I'd like it built-up differently. Maybe something like Stephanie McMahon has gone back to Hunter for some casual action (Triple H doesn't object, and Stephanie feels the need to go back to Trips), this pisses off Shane who wants Triple H to stay away from his sister.

Shane can tell us that Stephanie's become a sex-driven animal because of Triple H, and he knows The Game is only doing this to get control of the WWE so he can keep the World Hevayweight Championship indefinately. Vince doesn't want to get involved, and Triple H and Shane McMahon have their run-ins with each other. I think some confrontations between Shane & Ric and Shane & Batista could really be interesting.

Eventually Triple H announces he's going to marry Stephanie again, which leads Shane to becomming enraged. Eventually Vince splits the WWE into two (not just brands, but more like seperate companies), and gives me half to Shane, and one half to Steph and Hunter.

I dunno if it would work, but I think getting Shane & Steph back onto RAW in sub-roles could be alright.

They dont awknowledge on TV that Hunter and Steph are married, in storyline purporses they broke up. So if they were to bring it up, they would need to explain. Or else just pretend it never happened (like Edge and Christian being brothers).

The other problem is that the angle would involve a non wrestler in a major angle. At a time when they need to be creating new stars, the last thing they need is to take up a large part of the show on a guy who has no business in the main events, and Shane McMahon.

If they did want to use some type of angle over the control of the company playing off Hunter and Steph's marriage, they should get Shane to bring in a guy to fight HHH for him. At least that way a new guy gets a rub, and of course gets the privlege of laying down for HHH.

Personally, a HHH/Shane feud could be good, but now would be way to early. Stuff like this would probably work better in 5-10 years IMO, and should only be used during an up part of the cycle.

I agree. I can see Shane McMahon as sort of a manager tpye character. He could probably form an Evolution Solution type stable. Have Benoit, Orton, Rhyno & Tajiri be the front-runners in it. Down the line you can have Batista join. I wouldn't mind seeing Maven being brought into Evolution. Although they seem to be trying to keep Maven out of the stable, if Shane McMahon started a four-man stable, Triple H might make the decision to crown a fourth member as back-up. If not Maven, then maybe Matt Morgan?

I believe this anglem and eventual match would draw big numbers as far as ratings are concerned. Shane, along with HHH, can really make this happen

Definately.

And Stephanie McMahon, believe it or not, can really give a decent performance when she's not screeching. To be honest, I'd welcome her if she showed up on-screen now.
