Windham just felt the WWF wasn't right for him anymore because at that time they were very MTVish and relied on characters. Windham just wanted to wrestle and didn't like the whole character thing and the traveling was tough on him so he quit.

Mike Rotundo went on to WCW to become a sailor so I don't think characters was an issue with him.
