DISCUSSION - THE ROCK's (back full-time...non-wrestling role) impact on ratings

DISCUSSION - THE ROCK's (back full-time...non-wrestling role) impact on ratings

If The Rock were to come back to the WWE on a full-time basis, but was used in a NON-wrestling role (for the most part I guess), how much of an IMPACT would he have on ratings?

Let's say that The Rock became the new General Manager or something.

Potential Advantages:

-Ratings would increase (atleast for short-term)

-Great for Live Audiences. Higher overall attendence?

-Unlike Austin, the fans would be entertained by just listening to The Rock talk (i.e. trash talk). Unlike Austin, The Rock doesn't need to wrestle (that much) to be entertaining.

-If The Rock's character grows stale, he can always turn heel. Since The Rock is so damn good at being a heel, his character will be EXTREMELY easy to refresh (think - early 2003). The Rock as a face GM would *OWN*, and The Rock as a heel GM would *OWN*. No one in the entire wrestling world right now can make that claim IMO.

-The Rock being "on-air" on a constant basis, could actually help his movie career. The Rock keeps a fresh face with the fans.

-As a GM, The Rock doesn't have to "tax" his body. He can appear on WWE TV and please the fans...........while saving the WWE in the process.

Potential Disadvantages

-The Rock's on-air presence may prevent other top faces from emerging. However, it's not like we've seen any mega-faces emerge anyways.

A) If The Rock is bringing in ratings, then who gives a fuck if other faces can't "emerge" as much.

B) If The Rock is not there, will Management even allow someone to steal Triple H's "thunder" anyways? If the last few years have been of any indication, then no.

-The Rock may demand too much money for on-air appearances. However - Dwayne Johnson is also a good guy (from what I've heard). Perhaps he'll cut Vince a break, and make full-time TV appearances for a reasonable price/contract.

-If the roster split remains in-tact, then The Rock's "full-time" appearance on one show may completely sink the other one (although this is debatable I guess). Whatever show The Rock appears on (full-time), will automatically become *THE* show to watch. The other show would basically become the clear-cut 'B' show.

So - what do YOU think?

Is there anyway possible for the WWE to get The Rock back full-time? (in a non-wrestling role).
