Could JBL possibly make a star when he puts someone over?
I think so, I'll explain why when I come back on.

JBL isn't credible himself so the answer is no. Beating him will not make you a star.

I agree with Gouda. Since JBL himself hasn't had any credible victories, he himself looks like a mid-carder out of place. JBL has a tremendous gimmick, but he's arguably the WORST world champion of all-time. JBL can't put over anyone right now. He can help low-card wrestlers like Paul London become respectable mid-carders, but he can't take someone like John Cena and make them a "tremendously respected" main-event champion. The only guy who has the 'credentials' to do such a thing on SD, is Undertaker (via clean job). |

True, JBL has not gotten any credible victories himself, but that's also a reason why I think with good booking, that he can actually give someone a rub when he jobs.
In almost every title match (besides Shannon Moore) someone has helped him out. So imagine if at Wrestlemania XXI, assuming the rumors are true and Cena will be facing him. His entire cabinet runs interference at different points in the match. Cena hits the F-U, Amy distracts the ref and gives JBL time to recover and kick out. The ref takes a bump, The Bashams come in and double team, etc. So if John Cena were to overcome all of JBL's cabinet, as well as maybe take a few of them out, it could get him over and give him a much more meaningful title win. Thoughts? |

BJL -the only reason this guy is a champion because there is no one else.

There is no novelty in defeating Angle anymore (atleast in terms of taking an 'already' established upper-card wrestler and turning him into a potentially drawing main-event champion). Taker on the other hand, has only jobbed cleanly to Austin and Lesnar. The next guy to defeat Undertaker cleanly (especially at Mania'.......where Taker has never been defeated before), may get associated an "Austin" or "Lesnar" type status. The WWE are better off having John Cena defeat Undertaker in a non-title match at Mania', than they are in having Cena defeat JBL for the WWE title. |

I don't watch Smackdown because it sucks. So I don't care.

Totally agree about Cena. The marks still love him, but he could've been soooooo much better....had they kept him more serious. I was hoping that the 'stabbing' angle would've served as a pretext to make him more serious, but it didn't work like that. ![]() That's one thing that worries me about Batista. If Cena, Orton, etc. is of any indication, the WWE will find a way to ruin Batista once he makes the full-fledged turn. A month or so ago, I seem to recall you saying that Batista might be better off staying heel. Come to think of it, I just may agree. I'm thinking that after Mania (where Batista faces Triple H either one on one or in a triple threat match with Orton involved), Orton or Batista (depending on who wins) cuts a heelish promo the very next night. In Batista's case, he can talk about how he's glad that he stood up to Triple H (and whopped his ass), but he's not "Austin" or "The Rock". Batista can then say that he couldn't care less about the fans, and that he owes them nothing.........or something like that. He can then say that he's not "gonna be their savior" or any bullshit like that. |
