Charlie Chaplin
I watched City Lights a few days ago in Film As Lit, and I fucking loved that movie. The physical comedy was so genius in it. The boxing scene is one of the best sequences ever, IMO.
This turned me on to getting some more Chaplin movies, so I'm getting The Charlie Chaplin Collection Vol. 1 (The Great Dictator/Limelight/The Gold Rush/Modern Times) where 3 our of the 4 of those movies are on the IMDB top 250. What is your opinion on Chaplin movies? ![]() |

Chaplin is a comedic genius.
City Lights is awesome, such a great love story. Modern Times is just hilarious. If you enjoy his stuff, try watching some Buster Keaton too. |

Eventually going to start renting Chaplin stuff from library. They have a good collection of his stuff. First I'll probably finish some other foreign stuff and go with some more W.C. Fields. Looking forward to watching Chaplin though. I am a fan of intelligent physical comedy.
