Where are they going with Eddie Guerrero?
Yeah. So for the past few weeks on Smackdown they've been having Eddie lose to everybody when he gets caught cheating, gets out cheated, or people don't fall for his cheating.
I see this going either of two ways: 1) Eddie gets frustrated and turns heel. He becomes mega agressive. Problem with this is the last time they tried to turn Eddie heel it didn't really work and people still cheered him. 2) Have Eddie remain face but become more "focused" and "serious". He can still retain his basic character, he just wouldn't cheat in matches. I personally like this idea much better as it keeps him a fan favourite, while renewing his character. If the WWE were smart it would even lead to him regaining the title.

Eddie is one of the only bright spots on Smackdown! it seems. He's got a hilarious gimmick, can act great, and is an excellent wrestler.
I would push Eddie as the 2nd top face (since Cena looks to be the #1 face). Have Chavo Guerrero come back and just attack Eddie (I know this has been done before...but make this a Taker vs. Kane type fued)...thus bringing a long bloody fued. |

If they want Guerrero to be a heel, he needs his classic heel-MULLET-look. Right now, Guerrero is pretty much in the same position as Jericho.

After WrestleMania they should turn him heel, have him feud with Rey for awhile, then feud him with Champion John Cena.

He's gonna feud with Booker T.
As much as heel Eddie rocks, he gets WAY too many face reactions to stay heel, and it wouldn't work. |

Exactly. The whole lying, cheating, and stealing thing is way too hilarious and over with people. I think the funniest part is that look Eddie has on his face when he does it too....its perfect for the gimmick.

very easy to say "turn eddie heel and make him feud with rey."
However, you can't just turn Eddie heel. By all rights, the way he wrestles now is as a heel. |

He might be able to get heel heat against Rey, who I think he's facing at Mania, but outside him, I dont see it working.
I see some logic in turning Eddie in the sense that they need a top level heel after Mania, and Eddie is really good. But the problem is that he's way too over to turn. Ive said this a million times, but we all know what happens when a company tries to go against what the fans want. I think down the road they probably want to do Eddie (heel) vs Cena (Face), I wouldn't be suprised to see that built up to Summerslam. But I wouldn't mind seeing what would happen if they just kept them both tweener faces (Cena would need more edge than he currently has) and just let the fans decide. The risk is that Cena, who the company wants to push as the top face would get totally turned on by the fans infavour of Eddie. That would likely force them to turn Cena, and that seems counterproductive at this point (although the 'net fans would love it). I could see it working out where most crowds are 50-50 in temrs of who to cheer for. That would be really cool actually, because it guarantees hot crowds, kinda like NWO vs WCW. Some fans liked WCW some liked NWO. It might even work out where Eddie would have "home field" in the heavy Latinos markets (like Cali and Texas) and Cena would have the crowd support on the East Coast and the flyover states. But like I said, thats risky. |

Eddie Guerrero's popularity has worked against him, IMO. He can't really turn heel, unless they really have him turn evil, and I don't know if that will even work.
I think the easiest thing to do with Guerrero is send him over to RAW. I know a lot of people are creaming themselves over Triple H vs. Batista at WrestleMania, but why not have JBL vs. Batista vs. John Cena in the main event and have Triple H vs. Eddie Guerrero for the World Heavyweight Championship as RAW's lead match. I do think Eddie Guerrero would make an excellent heel, though. Have him as the slimeball that plays the heel, and even if he gets cheered it doesn't matter. I think with great writing and character developement, Eddie would eventually become really hated. I would LOVE to see a video start playing with Eddie Guerrero in the stands of an empty football stadium with a member of the hometown team (one that lost recently) telling them how much they suck, in person. He would probably get a lot of laughs, but he's be the slimeball and the guy who deserves to have his ass handed to him, and that makes him a heel, IMO. If he's a heel that sells merchandise, all the power to him. |

If Eddie goes to RAW he'll be buried faster a squealer who crossed the mob. No way should that be allowed to happen.

Apparently any planned heel turn has been binned already.

To make Eddie heel, all he has to do is go overboard with the cheating, say, hitting a face with a chair about ten times in a row to get a pinfall, the fans will be all "Once is enough, Eddie. You don't have to injure him!"
you know? |
