Will TNA ever get big?
Do any of you think that TNA will ever get big like WCW? I mean, I'm seriously hoping for TNA to get big and battle with the WWE. Looking at the Monday Night Wars dvd and others...I remembered how interesting and fun wrestling was back then. Now it's a mere fraction of what it used to be. Competition is indeed good for the fans, and TNA getting big could be the best thing to happen to wrestling since the Monday Night Wars.

Well, why do you say that? I'm looking for a reason as to why or why not.
Didn't WCW start off the same way when they were broadcasted from MGM studios? |

No. Hell in a year and a half they lost more money than ECW did in it's entire existance. Plus TNA is already politically heavy, it took WCW at least a couple of years to get to that point.

TNA has lost alot of money already (so I am led to believe) TNA have no television deal of substance. There are a host of problems with it. And also, whose to say TNA even want to get big? Their aim may simply be to survive and stay in business. Not all businesses want to become conglomerates |

Let's see I give the answer no. Because I happen to agree that TNA is just going to bomb. Why? Because they waste all their money on guys who can't wrestle anymore, Kevin Nash for example. See, they show it on Friday at 4 and not many people get FSN to begin with. And if that isn't enough. They can't even sell DVD'S anywhere besides E-bay and the actual website. Now, maybe if they expanded their possibilities. By putting DVD'S on AMazon or at Best Buy or something. That might help. But, comparing TNA to WCW and ECW is like comparing a I don't really have a good anology for this. Truth is TNA has never and will never be as big as WCW and ECW. If you ask me ROH has a better chance.

Was watching the byte this with heyman promoting the ecw dvd, he said similar things theyre meant to have lost around 15 million already. And in other news, seems to have been since that byte this that heyman disappeared from wwe tv, he was a little "outspoken" on some things regarding to wwe in it. |

I think TNA is on its way up. I think if it just had a better timeslot that more fans might be able to see it. As for the fact that it comes on early in the day it gives people little time to look for it. I always forget that its on. Thats why im happy they have the replays playing now. Im sure that in time they will move it up and finally the NEW Monday NIght Wars will begin.

I believe I read a few months ago that Ted Turner was interested in returning to the wrestling business? Is that still going to happen? Why not just buy TNA? I'm just hoping that another Monday Night War begins..b/c quite frankly (I'm sure most of you will agree) the WWE just plain sucks ass now..and is a mere fraction of what it used to be when it had competition. |

Well here's the thing. Yes, TNA has lost money, a lot of money, and when/if Panda Energy pulls out of the deal, they're fucked.
Now, TNA has been doing great these past few months in terms of the PPV's and the Impact Ratings. Each PPV, they draw more and more people and they deliever on the PPV's. There product on the PPV's was definately better then the last couple of PPV's the WWE put out mnus the Rumble. The Ratings for Impact are no where near bad at the timeslot they have. I think they will get a better timeslot soon as it looks inevitable. But this all depends on Panda Energy. |

TNA has a shot at gettin big but things have to change. Impress the right people. Otherwise TNA will sit in the place that it is and eventually disappear... off TV

TNA won't go anywhere because its owner has no core vision outside of seeing Jeff Jarrett always being on top, and letting the cruiserwieghts just do preposterous moves that kill the supension of disbelief.
Plus, they have that silly hexagonal ring. |

Too many factors in this whole thing.
If major changes aren't made to a number of things, it doesn't look too good for TNA. I would say that the problems begin where they usually do in wrestling - right at the top of the promotion, and work their way down. TNA is chugging along OK, with shirts, figures, merchandise, etc.. - still nothing big with DVD, which is where it's at - but they have yet to prove that they can DRAW PAID FANS to their events. Even having the event for free every week they are in the rough when it comes to filling the place. As much as they have distanced themselves from NWA, that's how close they should have stayed [they even changed their site from nwatna.com to tnawrestling.com]. I mean that, with all the NWA members, it'd have been smart for TNA to utilize it's big promoters nationally and internationally to help produce TNA events in their area, and test the waters - so to speak. |

They have no chance
Not enough talent, not good enough TV, and they look too minor league to ever get over big. |

The only way TNA has a chance of making it "BIG" is if they run a commercial during the Super Bowl. Even then, if the cost of the advertisement alone does not backrupt them, Kevin Nash and company will.

They stand a chance only if people back them. After all Vince did admit that at one point he was going to sell up during WCW hayday.
They need money, they need stars and TV Exposure. THAT IS WHAT KILLED WCW & ECW NO TV EXPOSURE. When Vince bought a majority of shares in the TV companies that shown them, he could dictate programming to a certain degree. |

I think Aussie gets it.
Now on to why TNA won't get big. Besides the main event players, almost every other wrestler in TNA is a sloppy worker. And sloppy workmanship will show the weakness of any fed. I mean...even in the WWE there's not a whole lot of sloppy workers. Well...except for JBL and HHH but that's about it. Everyone else is solid. And keep following the money trail. What you'll find will surprise you. |

I caught TNA Impact last night and I have to say that I was not impressed.
The wrestling is good, I'll give them that. AJ Styles is probably one of the best wrestlers in the world today, and I really enjoyed his match (although I can't remember who it was against). The problem I see is simply their production values. WCW NEVER looked that bad. They may have come from studio-beginnings as well, but it was never as bad as what TNA currently looks like. The backstage segments are terrible: poor acting, poor sound, bad camera-work, and terrible lighting. ECW's production values were better. TNA can get big if they get over a few things: 1 - Jeff Jarrett as the star of the show 2 - Dusty Rhodes (I cannot stand this asshole, and I don't think much of middle-America, who does NOT know about his history in the business, would stand him either) 3 - The six sided ring 4 - Bad production values 5 - National exposure (better timeslot, better station, etc) They have what it takes, there's just a few major changes that need to be made. |

It all depends on 2 words: Ted Turner.
When that no compete clause is up, I suspect he'll want to get back into the wrestling biz, and what better way to do than to acquire TNA, cut the crap out and broadcast it during a better timeslot? |

No.
No Turner Money...No Bischoff Manipulation...No. Now do I think TNA will one day turn a profit...that is a different question completly. If given more time I think TNA can become a profitable wrestling company (which in this industry is a success on to itself) but it will never become a "Threat" to WWE. I could go into great detail on how ever Ted Turner couldn't save TNA, but I will skip it and simply say that for the next decade we are looking at a WWE globally dominated market. |

The problem with Turner aquiring TNA is the Jarretts. They love the wrestling business, but they don't love it enough to realize that Jeff is NOT the answer to their problems. He isn't a good enough talent to push as their top guy, and if Turner buys TNA, what happens to the Jarretts? Surely they'll have some say in the company, and if that's so, it'll be WCW all over again.
So many questions... |

I'd say a no, but slowly and surely, TNA have been catching up by adding the replays and the PPVs and maybe one day, they just might get close.
What really kills it is the timeslot and the fact that at the moment it is known as "the home of the wwe low-carders," at least to me it does. When I think of main event, I don't think of Jeff Jarrett or Jeff Hardy. Sure, they have some good talent but some is not good enough when WWE has great names and yet even they are slacking off and are still number one in the wrestling business. |
