How Should the Undertaker return in his deadman gimmick form at the Royal Rumble

Should he return at the RR as a participant at the Rumble, just as a person who walks down the ramp with his old music playing, or just his old music playing and Kane gets eliminated while paying attention to the Titan Tron.

I think him returning as a participant to knock out Kane is the most illogical reason for him to comeback (although by me now saying it, the WWE is currently writing it into their storylines as we speak)

Let's assume that Kane is one of the Final Four (my other 3 predictions are Goldberg, Jericho, and Benoit with Jericho winning the Rumble, you heard it first from me) Now Kane is just dominating everyone and then suddenly the lights go out. Now you know the pop is going to be huge, but once those bells go off and we hear his old music I will mark out like never before. The very old blue lights will come on and people will be going crazy as the UT is walking to the ring. I for one will be at a local restaurant and will probably be the only nut going crazy for this but oh well. Regardless UT starts walking down to the ring in either his old ring garment or what was suggested in an earlier post, his clothing that he wore for the buried alive match now all tatterred and ripped. He will walk to the ring shouting things at Kane and Kane will just look absolutely shocked. He will turn around and catch a spear by Goldberg that will send him over the top rope. Now, the thing here is that I would have Kane land on his feet. As he begins to get back in the ring I would have the lights shut off and when they come back on both UT and Kane are gone.

The other option is that Undertaker's old music goes on but no one comes out. A distracted Kane will then be knocked out by any of the three final four and then when he goes back into the ring the lights go out and when they come back on he is gone.

Basically, I think to add more to this storyline you need to have Kane get knocked out while being distracted by either UT or the thought of UT being there, and then having the lights go out and have Kane disappear when they come back on.

Thoughts/Comments/Flames???

I think that all the lights should go off following by the Undertaker's vintage blue lights near the entrance way showing a sign on the Titan Tron like "Rest In Peace". This would be enough to distract Kane which would allow him to be eliminated in the process. This would be much like the promos the WWE had for Kane back in 2002, "The Fire Still Burns".

They should keep showing creepy promos with Taker talking on the Titan Tron at Every Raw, before Wrestlemania XX, where he challenges Kane for a match. Undertaker should finally make his return at Wrestlemania XX. I think it would be a good idea because It would allow Taker to grow his hair back to as long as it was back in 1996-2001, and it would make it make people watch Wrestlemania to find out what Taker's going to look like when he returns to destroy Kane.

Personally, I wouldn't have Taker actually appear at the Rumble.

I think something along the lines of what has been already written would be alright. Either have a bell toll while Kane is in the ring, or maybe have TAker's voice on the PA system threatening Kane.

Then what I would do is run promos between the Rumble and No Way Out that say "The Deadman Returns" and the date of the NWO PPV. A couple of weeks before the PPV I would have Heyman get a letter or something that says The Deadman wants to see you at No Way Out.

At NWO, Heyman comes out and then Taker with his old school look and old entrance. Taker says very little except that he 'demands' that Heyman get a contract with Kane so he can wrestle him at Wrestlemania.

Heyman goes to RAW, but isn't allowed in, so he cant get the contract. Heyman then shows up on SD and is confronted by Taker, who chokeslams and tombstones him. The next week on RAW Taker starts messing with Kane, and Kane breaks down and demands form Bischoff that he makes a match between himself and Taker for Mania.

Then Bichoff tries to get into SD, but is denied by Heyman. SO the next week on RAW Kane beats up Bischoff. Finally Taker shows up and the two are about to go, but Austin comes in and agrees to make the match for Mania.

Taker's first match back is at Mania against Kane, where he obviously wins.

Taker should NOT appear at the Rumble. As I mentioned in my fantasy-booking, I'd have Kane make it to the last handful (maybe last two) before the lights go out and an ominous message flashes up on the Titantron. An irate Kane is screaming at the ringside crew, which allows someone (Benoit?) to dump him out.

The Rumble would be an awesome place for a 'Taker tease, but I don't think he should be there either.

He could always be involved in a gangrel "Bloodbath" -style run in in the dark (Of course, that doesn't require there to actually be an opponent).

I think it's better to go with the Titan-Tron tease concept though. Bell ringing, ghostly images flashing, even possibly something Tazz- or Jericho- like.

what'd be even better is if, the night after, someone (I'm not sure who) comes out and tells Kane that HE set up the images/sound, not Taker, and further set up this while "Undertaker is gone" line. Maybe even a mini-feud for a couple of months over this, ending with the same image deal hitting, a shocked look on whoever "set up" the scam before, the lights going out at the next PPV, and both people ending up laid out.

Presumably, of course, by the Undertaker.

I think the bottom line here is that would entertain me, and I'm the only person I can speak for.

I'd have Kane keep saying until the Rumble that the Undertaker is no more and he's gone forever, he buried his brother etc. etc. Come time for the Rumble Kane should be the RAW favorite to win. Have him dominate when he enters and make it down to the final two (Kane and Benoit). Kane is set to toss out Benoit when the bell hits and the lights go out. On the titan tron the words "i will never rest in peace" appear. Kane is staring, looking scared almost. Benoit kicks him over ala Maven to Taker and Benoit wins.

No! Do NOT ever advertise the Undertaker's return. First of all, he's "dead." So it wouldn't make sense in that storyline arc. Secondly, you can get just as good ratings by making it pretty obvious that he returns at a certain PPV just by having the arena go dark, having the bells toll, or whatever.

His return should be a "surprise," resulting in a huge mark-out moment. I hate it when they hype the return of a superstar. At least try to make it seem unpredictable. It's actually better that way, since it invests interest into the future, rather than end all steam at the actual debut.

You know what surprises draw? NOTHING!!! Take a look at RAW. In 2 consecutive weeks they gave away the returns of two of the biggest stars in pro wrestling history in Foley and Rocky. What good has that done for the ratings? The answer, none. Ratings have not gone up even with football going off the air for the this season.

The lesson is that its best to take advantage of these returns by making people pay for it, and increase your bottom line so you can stay in business. Taker isn't "dead" he's just not on TV, at no time did they say "Undertaker died at Survivor Series". So the best way to make money is to run some promos saying Taker is coming back at a PPV, and make people pay to see him.

IMO, Taker returning at the Rumble, at ALL is bad. They'd have four months to basically over-hype him vs. Kane, and kinda kill off heat. I would say one or two months before WrestleMania would be the time to SHOW 'Taker, but teasing might not be bad.

You dont need a ton of time to hype the match. The foundation for the fued has already been laid out. You have their immense back history and the recent stuff where Kane burried Taker and at the Rumble where Taker will likely cause Kane to get eliminated.

As long as the match is booked within a couple weeks of Mania so they can produce some really cool features on their history, it'll be all good.

It's already been said, but why do they even need a lot of time to hype the match? All Taker really needs to do is return at this point. That basically solidifies an angle that's been suspended for quite some time now...

Then again, it IS banking on the WWE's fans to have an attention span, which is far more than the WWE generally gives us credit for having...After all, we have to remember back a couple of months to when Kane interfered, helping Vinnie Mac bury Taker, and then performed a Eulogy berating his brother.
