Is Adrian Beltre a one year wonder?

Do you think that Beltre's numbers will flop next year? I remember Bret Boone had that one MVP type year with the M's when he lead the league in RBI's. Also Esteban Loazia, who sucked prior to coming to Chicago, had a Cy Young type season two years ago with 21 wins and Last year he sucked hardcore.

Is Beltre going to suffer the same fate with the M's?

Tough to say, he's still incredibly young and was quite the prospect. I think that guys like Loiaza exceed their potential, while with Beltre it was just a case of him living up to his potential. I don't think his next season will be a flop but I doubt he'll put up the same numbers as last year.

I think last year was something special, but I don't think he will be a complete flop, just not quite that good

Look at the guys who are consistently good. A-Rod, Bonds, Vlady, Pujols, Clemens, Johnson, Pedro, Rivera, etc.

Do you think in a few years time Beltre could be considered among these greats?

ok, he's a tough call. He's 25/26, so he's got plenty of time still. He's not like a older guy who has one career year and then sucks afterwards. I don't see him being a "superstar" calliber player like the guys you mentioned. He's only hit over .300 once and really hasn't come close any other time, except for one season.

But I think he will be dam good the next few years and I think he will make a couple of all-star teams. So if your putting together a fantasy team, I would pick his ass up if he's still there late

BTW: only 170 pounds he weights.

He probably won't be up as good numbers, if he wasn't for Mr. MVP Barry Bonds he would have won the MVP last year probably. He will still be very good though, it's not just offense either. He's pretty good in the field I believe.

He had not reached over 90 Rbi's or 25 Hr's before last season that sounds pretty fishy.He nearly doubled his best HR totals and had a 35 RBI improvement as well in less games.*cough roids cough*.I say if he hits 30 homers and 100 RBI's he will be lucky, if he isn't busted for roids first

Yeah, did you not see what I posted about his weight. Roids does not = 170 pounds.

He is listed as 220 on Yahoo! too. I don't know for sure, but 170 seems awfully small for any major league baseball players, especially if they aren't like a 19 year old rookie. 5'11 170 is about what I am, and I don't think an established pro would be that small. Who knows though.

Beltre is at least 210

I was so surprised when I found out how small Pedro was. I always thought he was like 6'6" and badass

I agree with House on his potential stat line.
