Still, I wonder what folks think? This was a law seeking to ban sales of games depicting violence against cops to minors in Washington State. It was then deemed "unconstitutional."

I'm kind of confused. The seeming argument behind such a law would be that video games promote or glorify violence. And yet, we're only targeting games where you shoot at police/law enforcement? It's okay to kill as long as it's not a cop?

Now, I'm not saying video games do that, just making the apparent argument and pointing out an obvious flaw.

Well there was some dumbass kid in my state that was arrested and while he was in custody at the station, he grabbed a cops gun and killed 3 cops and stole a car. And the defense team is saying that since he played GTA: Vice City non stop all the time is the reason he did what he did. Now there is being a suit being brought against Sony, Wal-Mart, Gamestop, Take Two (who is the parent of Rockstar). And now like the show 60 minutes was in town for the story and all kinds of crazy shit. And it brings up video games is what made him do it. Its sad that a dumbass kid cant take responsibilty for his own actions.

Such fucking bullshit. Video games (along with movies and music) do not make people kill people. I don't understand why people can't take responsibilities for their actions, instead of passing the blame off onto something they seen in a game. If you're going to go and rob a 7-11 because of something you've seen in a game you need to seek help, becuase mentally, there has to be something wrong with your brain. It's bad enough you can't take responsibity for waht you do, but then to go and blame it on your t.v. or radio. It's like what the fuck. They're fucking it up for people who can decypher reality and entertainment.

How old was the kid?

I personally disagree. I think it's sad that our dumbass nation actually buys this bullshit. Tons of people make stupid defenses and stupid excuses. We should know better.

If their was fault, and their isnt any except on the kid because he is a dumbass, it certaintly doesnt lie with the first 3 companies.

You cant sue sony just because they put the game out on your platform.

I read in the paper they are trying to sue Walmart and Gamestop because apparently the kid bought the games their and them being mature games required him to be 17+ to by them, but was never carded. I have worked at albertsons for 2 years as customer service and I know for a fact that the companies are not liable for what 1 person did wrong. They have shit all over the store that says we card for this and that, which immediately makes them non-liable for anything, as long as it is present and viewable. The person who sold it to them probably wouldnt be sued either, just fired from the company.

Now Take-Two however, can be sued. Its sad to know that, but is very liable to happen. If the suit does go through, this is the only company I can see losing the case. The argument is that the game made the kid violent, and the counter will be that it didnt. Then the judge and jury will see the game and be like "oh all that is horrible!" and then judge to the plaintiff.

Shit like this just pisses me off. The kid should be taken out into the middle of the street and shot in both of his knee caps, then clubbed to death with a bat.

Nobody looks into how the parents of the little shit raised him. The parents were probably letting the kid do whatever the fuck he wanted whenever he wanted to. Who knows, his parents might have been crack heads....that couldn't possibly be! White upper middle-class people don't do crack! They're all good parents doing what good parents do.......put their kid on so many drugs he lays there fucked out of his mind like a good little boy.
