WXO Wrestling

Does anyone remember that huge piece of garbage? It aired on Fox like once, or twice in the summer of 98, I believe. Could have been 99. Naturally, I assume, it flopped. Anyone know for sure what happened, or how the hell the got air time on Fox?

Yeah I remember it.

It was based out of FL, and had Lane and DiBiase & Chris Cruise doing commentary and all that. It was kinda like the first XWF or TNA in a way, as it was supposed to be the family - themed alternative to WWF. They spent most of their money on getting custom belts (I believe from Reggie Parks or J-Mar, I forget) and then getting wrestlers on some of the baddest deals going.

Then they used some of the shittiest guys around (Devin Nash, The Shane Twins, etc.) since they were FL-based jobbers. Another bad move. They did have some good guys there [Erik Watts, Tommy Rogers, Mike Enos, Stan Lane, etc.], but the horribleness of the production and storylines and matches outweighed the good. It also didn't help that they never promoted anything, and ran tapings out of 1/2 empty buildings.

With the right guidance it could've been something big, but it flopped.
