Exclamation I think Friday Night Lights is one of, if not the best sports movie of all time

Simply for its ability to make a high school sport that important. In high school, you could only dream of actually being important like they were in Permian, and the movie did a great job of showing that. The story isn't a tacky underdog story, its a big team getting second place, even though its a true story (they actually lost in the semi's) its original. They bring great emotion into it, you just got overcome with emotion at numerous parts of the movie, at the end when they are getting pummelled and cheated and there is nothing you can do about it, like everytime you see Boobie Miles, some of the hits and stuff, it really gets you. I thought the acting was good, the way they used the talk radio to explain things was brilliant, and even though some of the football scenes were a little phony, I don't think they took away from the film, and the rest of the shots were really good. I just think that it captured what football was really like in Texas at the time, captures the ultimate dream for a high school athlete, wen't at it from a different light then the traditional underdog miraculously becomes amazing and wins it all (or loses at the buzzer), and was an overall really good movie.

I have seen lists of the tops sports movies, usually with Hoosiers on top. Well to be personally honest, Hoosiers is a good movie but it doesn't relate to me anymore, and I don't think it is the best. Small town team goes to the state tourny under a new coach, nothing about that stands out to me as the best. The lists usually include Jerry McGuire, meh is that even really a sports movie? Some of those golfing ones don't need to be on there, Tin Cup and stuff? Come on, sports. Even movies like Field of Dreams, its a great movie but I don't consider it a sports movie as much, I forget how it ends, but I remember it being about Costners life more then sports.

The two movies that are always left out, Prefontaine and Without Limits. I can't decide which one is better, I haven't seen Prefontaine lately, but both are unbelievable movies. I don't think you have to be a runner to be completely moved and motivated watching Pre.
