The chances of Taka Michinoku coming back?
What do you think the chances of Taka Michinoku coming back to the WWE are. Taka is a pretty young guy still, from what I understand, and I think he's had a few injures that have handicapped his awesomeness level, but I'm pretty sure he can still go.
Anyway, I know he runs a promotion or something in Japan, but how much of a mark-out moment would it be if Funaki was schduled to face a tag team, with his partner being unnamed. Then when Funaki comes out, his music hits again, but the difference being it plays the old Taka Michinoku titantron with the big TAKA flashing in blue and white (I'm not sure, but this may have started the trend of colours Funaki has become associated with) and Michinoku strolling besides his partner with a Kaientai flag (the same as the Japanese one, but witht he white being replaced with blue and "Kaientai" being written in the red circle) and a microphone. Taka tells us tha "The Bringers of Evil have returned, for they are EEEEEEEEEEVIL! MUWAHAHA..." Funaki then carries on with an "INDEEEEEEEED!" and they do their little ritual before kicking some ass. Sure, it wasn't the most honourable gimmick, but I would mark out everytime Kaientai would come to the ring, and it would be awesome if the WWE went on a tag team hiring spree like they are alledgedly doing with the cruiserweights. |

I would prefer if they returned to being the original (ok, not the original original) Kaientai that didn't take any shit and tried to cut Val Venis' dick off. Less comedy, more legit tag team action.

I never watched the WWE at that time, but I remember hearing about Val Venis sleeping with Kaientai's manager (was it Mr. Yamaguchi?) and making a movie about it called "The Land of the Rising Venis" and Kaientai attempting to take action against Venis, but his pee-pee shrunk just in time to avoid being severed.
I wouldn't mind Kaientai going back to this no bullshit style, but I think that can juggle some of their old promo style into it as well. Kaientai coming out and being dubbed over was a cute act, and it really got people into the characters. If they can transfer that attention into their matches, and if the WWE lets them work to the best of their ability, and give them decent time for their matches, they'd become more of a serious threat to the WWE Tag Team Championship. Imagine a heel turn with them revealing that they only played up the comedy routine so they could arrange for a new hitman character to be brought in. But yeah, a serious act would benefit them more efficiently as far as credibility goes. |

Depends on how recent this pic is, if he was going back to WWE, he could do with dropping some weight.

WOW, he's pretty blown up.
If he was in the shape in which he used to be I'd say he's definitely an asset for the |

I still laugh when I see him splat on the mats outside the ring at Rumble 2000 :d

I do like the idea of an evil (no pun intended) and ruthless Japanese heel stable. Why not make them the first interpromotional stable? Tajiri, Takako Inoue, Sakoda (I think I heard something about him heading back to the WWE) on RAW. Taka Michinoku, Funaki, Kenzo Suzuki, Akio & Hiroko on SmackDown!. I'm not an expert on the previous Kaientai stables, or Japanese wrestlers, but it would be nice if some other talent was brought in to aid the RAW side of Kaientai. |

Sorry Alienoid, but that's a horrible idea IMO. But I have been following Kaientai since before their time in ECW, so I am a bit biased. And the idea of a kaientai with new members, let alone ones who aren't cruiserweights is just unthinkable.
To put it in perspective, it would be like putting Maven, Benjamin, Jericho, and christian in a stable, and labeling them the four horsemen. It wouldn't work. Your idea of a faction of united japanese wrestlers is a good one. But applying the kaientai name is not. Funky, as much as we want to see the old kaientai return it will never happen. Just like the NWO, you can bring it back, add new members, and slap the nwo name on it, but it will never again be what it was in it's heyday. The whole thing has been watered down too much. |

I don't want new members, I just want a good fucking cruiserweight tag team that won't break up 2 months later.

Remember when Taka faced HHH for the title back in 2000 on RAW? He hired the APA to help keep the McMahon-Helmsley Faction from interfering. For a brief few minutes, I actually thought Taka was gonna win (and drop it on SD or whatever, but still win it). Good times.

Iv'e seen Taka wrestle recently. He isn't nearly as good as he used to be. He's still good, but why bring him back if he's not as good as before, and you have a plethora of in-shape, young wrestlers on the roster?
