OMFGTISA!!!!11 Star wars battlefront 2






The first Battlefront was a fun game, but it's lack of maps, game modes, and it's lacluster starfighter combat held it down. As fun as it was, if you didn't have online capability, it wasn't really worth more than a rental.

This game looks like it addresses all the problems of the first one. 16 maps in addition to the previous ones.(which although there weren't many, there were some really fun ones.) The gameplay isn't just, "take over all the bases". It's objective based, taking inspiration from the film.

The space battles look like they are going to be a blast. Part of the reason the flying vehicles didn't work out quite so well in the first one, was that the maps weren't big enough. You being told to get back on the battlefield every other second. But with these expansive space battle maps, and more in depth control of the ships means we'll finally get some true dogfights. Also, boarding an enemy ship as big as a Star Destroyer, and capturing it sounds sweet as fuck.

Finally the ability to play as the jedi, solidifies this as the star wars game I've always wanted.

Ever since Battlefront came out, I've looked at it as not a gret game, not a bad game, but the base for what could be the greatest star wars game ever.
Judging from these previews, I may have been right.

Sweet. I liked the first one, but it bothered me that there wasn't a pre/post-game lobby to chat with your buddies before working with them. I never really cared for being a Jedi or a Sith; there's other games for that. But it'll be great from the sound of it.

Not only can you play as Jedi, but also as Han, Chewie, and both Fetts.

New class types are Bothan spy/rebels, Imperial officer/empire, Magna Gaurd/CIS, and Clone Commander/Republic.

I'm still playing the first one because I like it so much. I think this one is coming out November 1st or something like that. I'll be buying it.

Bumping, since this comes out Tuesday. Cannot freaking wait. "Game Head" on Spike did a special on the game last night and, even though the host knew jack shit about Star Wars, that half-hour just made me want the game even more.

They ended the show with the full-length trailer and ! There's a freaking RANCOR in this game!

Yeah. I guess there's like an "all-star melee" mode (don't know the real name. The programmer was calling it "Celebrity Deathmatch"), where you can set up arena battles between all the "name" characters in the game. Emperor, Vader, Maul, Obi-Wan, Anakin, Ki-Adi Mundi, Jango Fett, Han Solo... Very very very cool.

I liked the first one, but I tried the closed beta for the sequel and didn't like it at all. The vehicles controlled like total shit.

Saw the commercial for this, looked hot. What kinda game is it? Never played the first. tbh the only Star Wars games I could really get into were the X-Wing vs TIE Fighter type, space combat sims ftwwww

Going tonight at midnight to pick this up and Episode Three on DVD.


I'm really hoping Battlefront 2 improved on the few faults of the first one. I still find myself playing Battlefront to this day though.

I love the original BF, but after I pick this up, I hope it's so awesome that it makes me never desire to pick up the first one again.

Great game. It's a lot different than the first Battlefront, though. It's a lot more objective based. At least in the mode I'm playing. Rather than just running around, taking over bases and killing droids, you're destroying shield generators so you can get inside and collect crystals and get them back to your jumpship.

The space missions are pretty cool. Really hard to get used to, imo, but it's so much fun to fly a starfighter into an enemy ship then disembark and kill droids. Very cool.

A lot of fun. The addition of space warfare was nice, though it could be improved a bit. It is awesome how you can go from fighting in starfighters to fighting on foot though.

Ill bet its the shit online.

The new Galactic Conquest mode is way better than the old one. A lot more strategy involved this time around. And playing as a Hero is so so so so so so so so so so freaking cool. Playing as Darth Maul is seriously the most fun I've had playing a video game in a long time.

The game rules, especially with four players split-screen (no live this time). I can only imagine the online mayhem going on without me. I wish they considered giving more control over which Heroes join a battle instead of it being map specific.

Agreed. And I wish they had included more. It's a petty thing, but there are so many Jedi you can play as, but when you play as the Empire in Galactic Conquest, you get sort of sick of Boba Fett on every damn map.

Also, I hate the auto-reload feature. It always kicks in at the absolute worst time.

This game is pretty cool. I'm not sure if many people look at it as the whole "conquer the points" so much as just killing as much as possible. At least from my experience from the people I've played against. It is definitely excellent though, and when they patch it, it should be even better.
