Storm vs JBL and Holly?

Quote:
Lance Storm was the subject of a verbal thrashing WrestleMania weekend from JBL. Several weeks ago Storm, who is currently a trainer at WWE's Ohio Valley Wrestling training territory in Louisville, Ky., had told the wrestlers he was training what to expect when they are called up to the main roster. He made a comment about how the Smackdown locker room is more old-school and thus they are likely to experience more hazing there, something Storm openly frowns upon as being passe and unprofessional. He singled out JBL and Hardcore Holly as two perpetrators to be leery of. One of the OVW wrestlers passed along what Storm had told him to several Smackdown wrestlers, including Holly. Storm had also told advised OVW wrestler Derek Jeter not to abide by the ruling of "Wrestlers Court." Jeter got in trouble with the Smackdown locker room when he made a comment about not liking how he was being relegated to tag team wrestling. JBL and Holly, two longtime tag wrestlers, took exception to his apparent attitude that he was too good for tag wrestling and sentenced him to "Wrestlers Court," which is a tradition within WWE where issues are solved in a usually humorous manner in-house among wrestlers before involving management. Basically, if a wrestler offends members of the locker room, they can be called into court, where a judge (often JBL over the years) hears witness testimony and then issues a sentence. Jeter's punishment was fetching beers for JBL and watching tapes of tag team matches. Storm wasn't pleased and discouraged Jeter from "wasting his time" on the matter. WrestleMania weekend, when Storm and Holly crossed paths, Holly made a comment under his breath toward Storm to "f--- off." When JBL saw Storm, he cut a promo on him. JBL took issue with what he had heard about Storm calling the Smackdown brand second rate and its wrestlers bullies who were more concerned with locker room games than drawing money. It nearly led to a fight. JBL challenged Storm, but Storm managed to keep the situaton from escalating. Some saw that as Storm backing down from a challenge. Others saw JBL as overreacting and looking foolish.

Lance Storm is a god no matter what.

For a second though...I thought you ment that JBL and Holly were taking on the Main event himself, Matt Storm.

I'm torn. I agree that the over the top hazing that Bradshaw is famous for is stupid but there is a point where rookies shouldn't be acting like they're too good for anything. As a fan, I want to see new guys work their way to the top.

So if this is true, jeter bitching about tag matches is pretty weak on his part. And fetching beers & watching tapes doesn't seem like that big a deal. I read about rookies in the NFL having to carry luggage and work the training room lucnh table all the time.

Meh. Storm was right to warn his trainees about the assholes on SD. In this case, though, I just think JBL and Holly were trying to get a young guy to behave correctly.

Both Bradshaw and Holly are just lucky that they haven't ran across the right people in the ring, or in the lockerroom for that matter. If either of these two were working the indy scene, they'd have had their asses handed to them long ago.

Yes, actually. On minor stuff, what would you want the other wrestlers do, take it to management. Tell Johnny Ace. Have one of the road agents give him a stern talking to?

On the ship, if there was some guy living in berthing who wasn't taking a shower or washing his clothes enough ( no matter how many times he was told), you dumped his shit in the shower or you put powdered detergent in his locker. If you went through 'official means' like telling his workstation sup he ended up with a written reprimand and a mark on his record that could effect his quarterly evals.

This is a locker room environment. Stuff like this happens. No one got hurt. A rookie got a little embarassed becaus he was acting a little big-headed. You can out out that it creates 'animosity' but how much 'animosity' was Jeter generating for himself by bitching about his spot whe he just got called up to the active roster?

Putting aside the issue at hand, I kind of take exception if that's really the way the OVW guys were. You're finally in the WWE, and you're going to whine because it's as half of a tag team? Do I have to start listing some guys that started out primarily as tag team wrestlers?

I almost wish Storm fought him. Almost anybody coming out of the Dungeon is guaranteed to be a capable fighter in real life, and JBL is long past due for an owning.

Storm comes off as the better man in this situation, IMO. He's just looking out for the kids.

As much as I would've like to see Storm take on JBL, I think he's a smart man for backing down. Storm, with his Dungeon training, would have taken JBL down easily. But if the two came to blows, which one do you think would more likely have ended up on the unemployment line?

You make a good point El Santo. And with the recent firings, Lance could be going that way soon anyway. I mean, I think we're up to 3 this week? Rhyno, Matt Hardy and Molly Holly? With Lance telling OVW talent all this about the locker room, especially when it concerns a 7-month WWE Champion, what's to stop Vince from releasing Storm?

But yeah: Storm = The Man.
