Hogan can't even make friends among other guys who have reputations of holding the talent down. That's got to be a new level of asshole that hasn't been invented yet.

Oh well, who cares. It's his decision to not show up, and we should all respect that. At least he didn't act like a baby and talk shit about Hogan *cough*MachoMan*cough*, he just didn't bothering going to the HoF show.

I look at it like this. Should Undertaker have been there? Probably. However, not showing up might have been a good thing, because if he were there, they may have had some words, and that wouldn't be good at the Hall of Fame ceremony. Backstage at Raw, SmackDown!, or even a Pay-Per-View is one thing, but at the Hall of Fame ceremony?

Yes Pepsi Man because the wrestling HOF is such a grand event.
You see, it's not. I'm pretending it is in a sarcastic manner. In other words, I'm making light of your post. I hope this explanation hasn't spoiled the joke. |

I think its becoming a big deal.
I never expected Taker to be there because of the gimmick stuff. As for his heat with Hogan, its kinda typical between top guys. Austin has heat with Hogan, Rock has heat with HHH, Flair has heat with Bret and Foley, Hogan has heat with Savage, etc etc |

Think aboot it eh.
A Hall of Fame for pro wrestlers. A scripted form of entertainment where you become a hall of famer because of the bookings and political bickering that goes on. I find it absurd. |

Still though, political bickering and bookings don't always make a superstar - or else Steve Blackman and Bob Holly would be the WWE and World Champions right now, as they have had more undeserved pushes than anyone.
I think of it more as a lifetime achievement award for giving a lot to the company and the business as a whole. If they were putting people into the hall of fame for "most wins" or "most championships held" it would be absurd, but because they only induct those who have made an impact on the WWE in some way or another, it's okay. Then again, the fact that Pete Rose is in there kind of blows my whole explanation out of the water... someone should be shot for that decision. |

Maybe once the WW(F)E starts putting unknown wrestlers in their hall of fame. Don't forget that too, it's not a true hall of fame, as you had to have had a WW(F)E affiliation, then it'll truly mean something. As far as I'm concerned, the hall of fame was a great idea until it became reality. |

Pete Rose.
Exactly, that's shameless WWE Promotion. Pete Rose can't get into the baseball hall of fame, so they put him in theirs. LOLzzz so funny. |

Can't see it being true. It's not 1991 anymore. Everyone saw the Biker Taker gimmick and the real Mark Callaway. Plus Taker worked with Hogan a couple of years ago and there were no talk of beefs then.

It's not really a Hall of Fame. You can't even really cal it a WWF/E HOF as Bruno Sammartino isn't in it. It's a "we're going to let Vince use our name one last time so as not to burn any bridges the next time we need a paycheck" ceremony. What's funny is that there actually is a pro wrestling HOF in upstate NY that's non-promotionally biased, has an international voting committee made of wrestlers, promoters, and longtime writers, that Vince refused to be a part of or recognize because they wouldn't give him Final Veto on their nominations. Undertaker is a classless and jealous sack of shit...with an oversized ego.
If Taker had any common sense, he'd be thanking Hogan. Because of guys like Hogan, Vince McMahon, Rock, and Austin, the wrestling industry enjoyed huge booms. Undertaker became more well known as a result. If anything, Taker should be kissing Hogan's feet. Taker "no selling" his appreciation for Hogan. Imagine that.

Taker not at 05 HOF
Taker is respected as a veteran. I'm sure his reasons for not showing at the event were legit. I'm pretty sure Vince doesn't want to be backstage and an induction ceremony in which someone asks Taker's thoughts on Hogan being inducted and hearing " I hate that son-of-a-bitch and his career was never good and I personally can't stand him" . Although a confrontation like that would be hilarious, I don't think it's what Vinnie Mac wants.I'm sure both guys would get hurt in a legit shoot fight against each other. If Hogan really did make untrue comments about Taker earlier in his career, his not showing up at Hogan's induction was justified..... I've always wondered why wrestlers were jeolous of each other. They quite oftenly make comments against one another[by way of interviews, writing books, etc] and make it public knowledge, when it shouldn't be made public. Oh well, that's life and pro wrestling for ya

Mind you, Undertaker is my favorite wrestler ever. I don't find it too far-fetched that Hogan felt like Undertaker wasn't ready to be in a main event position. Odds are there is a wrestler or two out there that Undertaker has told management he did not feel were ready to be in a main event position. |

Taker probably uses the "dead" excuse all the time to get out of everything, whether he is "dead" in the storyline or not, which would be stupid. Taker not going to Hogan's HOF ceremony is justified, especially when you think about if Taker got to the HOF first, Hogan would have done that to Taker too and you know Hogan will do this when it is UT's turn. Hell, you don't see Hogan or Taker going to everyone's HOF ceremony so what's the big deal?
I doubt either care for each other, so whatever. |

Is the likelihood of Hogan attending a Taker Hall of Fame induction limited NOW? Probably. Also, as big of an Undertaker mark as I am, I think IF the story is true, it would be pretty funny if Undertaker were told that he was being considered for a Hall of Fame spot, but wouldn't be inducted because it would mesh with his character. |

You cant discredit what Taker has done for the WWE.
Of course guys like Rock, Austin and Hogan have made more money for the company, but Taker has been a constant, and has been loyal to Vince, even when the compnay was at its lowest points. Also, Taker has been a major part of some of the biggest shows in the history of the WWE, as well as a few of the top rated matches on TV. So its not like he hasn't contributed to their success. There is also the fact that Taker and Bret kept the comapny afloat during the time when the likes of Hogan and co left for WCW, so Vince should always show him loyalty. Granted Taker could do more to better the company, in terms of putting guys over, but that can be said for just about every main eventer, except Rock. |
