How to go about the WWE Draft now that it's been announced...

I imagine they will do it similar to last year where 5 guys from each brand are randomly swapped... If that is the case, this is who I propose trading:

From RAW to SmackDown!...

1. Shawn Michaels - a good choice for a title run at any time, so over, such a solid worker, constantly delivering

2. Christian - deserves a main event run as a heel at this point, putting him on SmackDown! with or without Tomko is a good idea

3. Randy Orton - a SmackDown! switch could indeed be beneficial... An Orton/Cena feud can be good and he can work with various people on that roster

4. Kane - a reuniting with the UnderTaker could be better than what's going on for him right now with the Lita angle that is ruining his image and career... Things will only continue to go downhill for Kane on RAW, whereas SmackDown! may actually use him as a heel or as a face...

5. The Hurricane - this guy desperately needs to get away from Rosey and compete for the Cruiserweight Championship

This sends an ambundance of main event talent to SmackDown! so that it isn't so much the B-Show even though it will never match RAW since it is taped... Kane, Orton, HBK and Christian could all get over as legitimate main event contenders on RAW, whereas they will only be buried further on RAW...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

From SmackDown! to RAW...

1. Kurt Angle - matches with the likes of Shelton Benjamin, Chris Benoit, Edge and Chris Jericho can be phenominal... Has served a long run on SmackDown! and can use some time on the live TV... So damn good... An Angle-Batista feud instantly becomes a good option to avoid the title going back to HHH or going to Edge only for his reign to be shat on and flopping...

2. Mark Jindrak - a new Evolution with Jindrak/Masters becoming a full-time team is a very good idea because this gives RAW much needed tag-team exposure and this puts two mediocre workers in a position where they may get over...

3. Big Show - simply going nowher eon SmackDown! and matches with guys being pushed like Batista can really help get younger guys over... Show and Booker desperately need some changes... At this point, putting the U.S. title on Booker and letting him carry the division with opponents like Christian, Carlito, Reigns, RVD and Jordan might be okay to maintain some midcard credibility on the show...

4. Charlie Haas - possibly reuniting him with Shelton are having an IC title feud between the 2 can bring this underused talent back to action... Haas is an awesome talent and there is no use in keeping him on SmackDown! to tag with a sluggish Bob Holly on Velocity...

5. Eddie Guerrero - with the developing trades, SmackDown! could afford to lose this guy since he doesn't look to be getting a WWE title run anytime soon and turning him heel wouldn't make any sense... He can truly contribute on RAW if he plays a face...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Conclusions of Draft...

RAW MAIN FACES

Batista
Eddie Guerrero
Chris Benoit
Chris Jericho
Shelton Benjamin

--------------------------

RAW MAIN HEELS

Triple H
Kurt Angle
Edge
Big Show
Muhammad Hassan

--------------------------

SMACKDOWN! MAIN FACES

Shawn Michaels (can also play the heel if Kane stays face)
The UnderTaker
John Cena
Booker T
RVD & Rey Mysterio (hardly likely for a title run anytime in the near future, though)

--------------------------

SMACKDOWN! MAIN HEELS

Kane (I'd definitely turn him heel and push him hard or turn HBK heel and reunite Kane with Taker)
JBL
Randy Orton
Christian
Carlito

--------------------------

RAW MAIN TAG-TEAMS

Jericho & Benoit (could be tag champs at any time, I think)
Haas & Benjamin (a reunion could be special)
Eugene & Regal
La Resistance
Heart Throbs
Maven & Simon Dean
Mark Jindrak & Chris Masters & Tyson Tomko (any combination of the 3 can join Evolution, preferably including Jindrak)
***any new debuting teams***

--------------------------

SMACKDOWN! MAIN TAG-TEAMS

Rockers (if HBK is traded and Jannety comes to SmackDown!)
Dudley Boyz
MNM
RVD & Rey Mysterio
Basham Brothers
Kenzo & Rene (I see both getting released in the near future)
Luther Reigns & Matt Morgan (could definitely work, in my opinion)
Hardcore Holly & Al Snow (could work if Al still worked, I think)
***any cruiserweight combination***

--------------------------

I won't acknowledge Heidenreich or Snitsky as legit contenders to any division at any time...

Releasing some talent such as Rosey, Holly, Venis and Suzuki could be a good idea as well since none are really going to get over again at any point and none are particularly solid in the ring... I still think to this day that Venis is a phenominal in-ring competitor, but he has been jobbed so much that he has no credibility left... There is no point keeping him as a HEAT buffer for the rest of his career since Steven Richards has that acclaimed honor...

With the draft done well, some much needed changes can be made to both rosters and this can definitely help build the title picture for the coming year... Lots of new feuds can become possibilities with lots of new potential alliances forming, as well...

Guys like Holly and Scotty 2 Hotty have simply gotten old with the WWE audience and won't get over significantly again... Regardless, Holly is used in such a limited way on Velocity that I really don't mind him staying on the roster...

Rosey, however, it's been a long time coming for him... Unless a Rosey/Viscera team can get over but I highly doubt it... Perhaps for a HEAT kind of atmosphere...

I stick by my idea from before to reunite all the Attitude era gimmicks used on characters that are being jobbed... Guys like Hardcore Holly, Val Venis, Viscera can... Wait, what am I even thinking?

Shelton Benjamin is the future...

Leaving only Benjamin, Benoit, Jericho, Batista and Guerrero as RAW's faces, it ensures title runs or opportunities for Benoit, Jericho, Benjamin and Guerrero when Batista's run is over, which is a really good thing... I wouldn't mind the title on any of these guys, personally...

Snitsky and Heidenreich are going to be starrrrrrs!

Not bad, except I wouldn't move Angle AND Eddie to Raw. Eddie's program with Rey is going to be huge on SD! and SD! is the shoiw with the greater need for talent. All you have to do is look at your ow list and see that SD would still be weak on heel talent.

So, in conclusion, you're list is so-so. Instead of Eddie, trade the draft rights to Brock Lesnar or something just to give the draft more heat, but the rosters would end up better balanced.

Raw List is exactly how I would do it.

Smackdown: Jindrack is crap and nobody cares about him. Focus on guys people give a shit about. Guererro needs to stay with Rey. Haas, Angle and Show are fine. I would also move JBL to Raw. Make HBK your top Smackdown Heel.

To Smackdown:

1) Christian- He pretty much HAS to go and is almost guaranteed to.

2) Shawn Michaels- Bring a big star to Smackdown, can have rematch with Angle.

3) Randy Orton- Another big heel star.

4) Kane- Big monster type dude.

5) Snitsky- To unite with Heidenreich. And have 50 more matches with Kane.

To Raw:

1) Big Show- One monster for another.

2) Charlie Haas- Being wasted currently. Can feud or team with Benjamin and will automatically be better off.

3) Luther Reigns- Yeah. A change might do him good.

4) Hardcore Holly- For no reason.

5) Orlando Jones- In the "split up" of the night. Leaving OJ to have to fend for himself and JBL to look for a new right hand man.

Did anyone else hear the HUGE reaction for Christian on Raw? Moving Christian to SD! would be a bad idea in my book simply because, as a heel(which he should always remain), he's only gonna have good matches with Eddie and Rey. He could have a good program with Cena, but let's face it Cena has the wrestling ability of Lita(cept he don't botch). IMO, I'd keep him on Raw and make him the #2 heel(cause HHH ain't going anywhere, don't kid yourselves). It'd be nice to have two big heels on Raw because that would (hopefully) free HHH up from the title picture. I guess right now Edge is the #2 heel, but he draws more heat from his backstage antics than his cardboard character.

Kurt Angle, John Cena, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, John Bradshaw Layfield and Booker T all need to stay on Smack Down.

Triple H, Batista, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Edge, Shelton Benjamin and all need to stay on Raw.

That gives the WWE room to move Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Chris Benoit, Christian, Kane, Big Show and the returning Rob Van Dam around.

Christian should definitely move to Smack Down! to feud with the WWE Champion John Cena. However, I fear that Batista is just going to squash Christian next week and then he'll just look inferior when/if he defeats John Cena for the BIG title. Basically, if he is squashed next week you can forget about any chance of him becoming a big Smack Down! star.

But everyone is destroyed by Batista. Using your logic if Beniot was squashed by Batista, he would look inferior of SD!. Getting squashed by Batista is expected. HHH was squashed by Ultimate Warrior and within three and a half years he was main eventing.

I am not 100% sure what you are trying to say in regards to Benoit here.

I don't know, Batista squashing/defeating Christian right now seems pretty unnecessary. I would be alright with it as long as it eventually led to something between Batista and Christian down the line, but this is the WWE and it is a safe bet that nothing between the two will occur down the line.

BTW, HHH was not even a mid-carder by then. Just some opening match guy. Christian is a mid-card wrestler deserving of a main event spot, who is on the verge of being stuck in mid-card hell 4 life if something does not change quickly.

After seeing Christian on Raw talk about how he wanted to go and kick Cena's ass for the title I got into it. I hope they take him to Smackdown and let him have a heavyweight title run.

It would be great to see Edge and Christian celebrate like Beniot and Guerrero did at Mania holding both Heavyweight Titles.

Most people seem to forget that last year, each brand got six picks.

RAW
Shelton Benjamin
Nidia
Rhyno
Tajiri
Edge
Paul Heyman (who quits, because he doesn't want to work with Bischoff)

SmackDown!
Rene Dupree
Mark Jindrak
Triple H (who is later traded for Booker T and The Dudleys)
Rob Van Dam
Theodore Long
Spike Dudley

Afterwards, Rico and Miss Jackie were traded for A-Train and Chuck Palumbo. Wow. Who'd have thought that a year later, only one of these four would have a job...?

SO, here's who I'd move and why.

RAW to SmackDown!
Chris Jericho - Although I hate to take him away when he's on the cusp of an IC Title feud, no one will see this coming. Plus, if he turns heel, imagine the promo wars between Jericho and Cena!

Christian - Gives SD another top heel. He's being wasted on RAW, and a surprise win over Batista on Monday hurls him into a new role as threat to Cena's title.

The Hurricane - Simple. The Cruisers need a "name," and the crowd is full of Hurricane marks.

Ric Flair - Evolution is dead. Let him take on a managerial role for someone with talent in-ring but not on-mic. Maybe Mark Jindrak?

Rob Conway - Could turn out to be a Rene Dupree-esque "rookie" pickup for SmackDown. If he can stay healthier than Rene has.

Shawn Michaels - This continues his feud with Angle while simultaneously getting him the hell away from Triple H.

SmackDown to RAW
Big Show - You know Vince is creaming himself for a Big Show/Batista feud.

Danny Basham - WWE likes to split up tag teams during these things, and I think the "Damaja" could benefit from a brand jump.

Hardcore Holly - Vince thinks it's because he'll put a locker room leader on the brand with the bag-shitter. Really, he'll just make things worse.

Heidenreich - A move to cable (and a later timeslot) will let him go a little farther with the poetry gimmick. He and Snitsky work really well together in backstage segments, so let them have a go of it.

Luther Reigns - He's big and he's scary, and Vince loves 'em that way. Get him to RAW, and he's an instant midcard threat. It doesn't hurt that he's talented.

The Undertaker - Man oh man does Mark Calloway miss live TV. With him only making periodic appearances, a RAW role works for him. Plus, he gives HHH another washed-up has-been to hang out with.

I could be wrong but I think that both brands got a total of ten picks last year. I do not remember all who were drafted last year to back it up but I'm pretty sure that it was a total of ten for each side.

Actually, Jericho to SmackDown would be absolutely perfect. He could be the top runner for the US Title. Although I doubt it, he could also feud with Cena.

Is that even a sentence? And he should get a towel or something to clean that up.

But, assuming you're reminding me that Show's a face and calling me a douchebag, I'd turn him. He's better as the scary monster than the funny fat guy.

Ah, yes, the WWE draft. Coming in a month. Well, there are NUMEROUS changes that need to be made. I don't think it's gonna be just 4 or 5 guys involved though;

Recent rumors[rumors mind you] insist Cole & Tazz are tired of being treated as "B team" announcers. Now, I dunno if anyone noticed, but, after McMahon made his announcement of a new WWE draft, Lawler said "EVERYONE?!". Perhaps announcers will be traded as well. Think of the possibilities. The main one I'm thinking will happen is JR w/Tazz & Cole w/The King. I'm not sure who will call which show though.

As far as which superstars go to which shows, it's not hard to guess;

On RAW guys like Orton,Kane,HBK, Jericho, Christian, and Maven should go to Smackdown;

Likewise; guys on Smackdown like Guerrero,JBL,Jindrak, and Rene Dupree should go to RAW. The only reason I included Dupree to RAW was because his run as a singles competitor has flopped. He was better in a tag team and seems lost in the shuffle on SmackDown; perhaps a reuniting of the original "La Resistance"?

I think McMahon realizes the SmackDown product sucks compared to RAW. So, he will shake things up. The ultimate swerve though would be sending HHH to SmackDown; as they teased this last time. Sending him to SmackDown takes away his opportunity to be an 11-time World Champ .

Whatever happens, I'm sure it'll be interesting and make both brands exciting again.....

The easiest way would just be to book Smackdown like a viable show again. It was winning in the ratings before they killed it to make Raw look like the dominant brand.

Yes, this is true. Back in 2002 when the rosters were first seperated, SmackDown completely kicked RAW's ass[although RAW wasn't as bad then as current SD now].

I remember the ladder match Edge had with Eddie Guerrero on Smackdown back in 02 or 03[can't remember which], but, it was AWESOME, with Edge doing his Edge-cution DDT off the top of the ladder

At that moment, Smackdown rocked. Lesnar[Undisputed Champ], Rock, Hogan, Jericho,Storm and others were on SD[even HHH was on SD initially, before going back to RAW].

I think SmackDown can be as good or better than RAW again. We just need more top talent shifted to Smackdown; I would love seeing Christian vs. Cena, Christian vs. Guerrero, and Christian vs. Kurt Angle. Christian has emerged as one of my fav future talents and I think sending him to SmackDown might make him a main-eventer.......

Anyway, back to topic: The draft can only mean good things. It means Vince realizes that he finally has to switch things to make WWE interesting as a whole again. I just hope that don't stop the shaking things up part once they arrive on USA Network. If they are having another draft, it may just be an attempt to impress USA long enough to sweeten the deal[and probably up the money amount ] and then they might go back into the dumps again Hopefully, I'm wrong and Vinnie Mac will keep his product interesting all-the-time, seeing as it would benefit us the most.......just wishful thinkin' though

BTW, so last year the SD GM traded ATrain, Palumbo, and Triple H and in return got a Dudley Boyz team that's been MIA for months now getting "re-tooled," Booker T, Rico, and Jackie Gayda....

Did Mitch Kupchak GM the Smackdown brand for a few weeks while I wasn't paying attention?

Hmmm, you guys are forgetting the dumb picks. The ones that make the GMs laugh at when the other picks it. Like when Spike was picked and Heymen was picked. I feel they are going to have Stevie go to Smackdown as that pick.

Well I think Charlie Haas going to RAW would be a good think, it can give him a push, BUT they could put him on HEAT like Velocity and team him up with Simon Dean and Maven...

No, but that announcement was kind of big, considering i was under the impression that it wouldn't be happening this year. So it would of been a nice surprise is all

Eddie turning heel not only makes sense, It would be a great decision. Despite Cena being the face champion, Eddie is still getting cheered the most. Turning him heel will allow the casual fans to focus more on Cena.

Should be easy t odo too. Make him snap. Turn on RMJ, and go all "Viscera at a buffet."

Of course, the better thing to do would be "not make Cena stale."

The problem with a face Cena/heel Eddie program to me, is that I believe alot of fans will turn on Cena in favor of Eddie, but eh, I guess we'll see.

You know what would be cool?

One month from now, on draft day:

Instead of there being a draft, the wrestlers revolt. The wrestlers from Smackdown don't want to go to RAW, while the RAW wrestlers don't want to go to Smackdown.

Basically - the wrestlers on each brand have developed a sense of loyalty and pride towards their show.

What we see instead, is a flat out war develop between the two rosters. RAW vs. Smackdown. This sets the tone for the WWE for the next 9 months.

Ya, I would like that, but Smackdown needs to get better. Next year that would be cool, if they fix Smackdown this year.

What I posted was the draft list from last year.

The previous draft, when it was Vince (SmackDown) vs. Flair (RAW), when they were first starting the brand extension, they each got to pick ten guys, while the rest of the wrestlers were "randomly" assigned brands.

Vince took
The Rock
Kurt Angle
Chris Benoit
Hollywood Hulk Hogan
Billy Gunn & Chuck Palumbo
Edge
Rikishi
D-Von Dudley
Mark Henry
Maven

Flair took
The Undertaker
nWo
Kane
Rob Van Dam
Booker T
The Big Show
Bubba Ray Dudley
Brock Lesnar
William Regal
Lita
