Re-Used Theme Musics

I was just watching a old Bret Hart match where he went against the Patriot and realized that The Patriots theme song is almost the same as Kurt Angles....it just seems Angle is at a higher beat. I dont know why I never realized this before.

Does anyone know of any other theme songs that have been re-used?

I realised it the third time I heard it. It was nagging me that Angle's theme sounded familliar.

I noticed that aswell a while ago, can't remember what I was watching at the time.
I think its cos Kurt was asked, after the olympics, to join WWF but he refused at the time.Maybe they had music and character set out for him to use and since he said 'no' gave it to someone else.

Was Mark Jindrak's theme the same as narcissit Luger? I don't know.

I noticed the Kurt Angle/Patriot thing the first time I heard Kurt's entrance music. Of course, this was a dark match at the Raw following the 1999 King of the Ring, and at the time, I figured he just got that for dark matches and would have something else on TV. Turned out that that wasn't the case.

A lot of WCW themes were re-used by jobbers on Saturday Night/World Wide. Jericho's old school face theme and Steve Austin's WCW theme come to mind.

I can remember Dean Malenko's WCw theme being used over and over again. I think it was Chavos at one point in either late WCW or early WWE.

I don't recall Chavo with it, but I do recall Chris Benoit with it.

Chavo, however, DID use both of Eddie Guerrero's WCW themes, first using his first long after Eddie stopped using it, then after Eddie left the promotion, he used Eddie's second. At one point in late WCW, Chavo even had a remix of Eddie's heel WCW theme, but when he debuted in the WWF, he had the old version of it.

This is a little off topic but anyone seen commercials using wrestlers themes?

I've heard Chazs' theme from Del Computers
The Dudleyz first WWF theme and The Hardyz "Team Extreme" theme used for DragonBall Z commercials.
I think theres one or two I'm missing.Anyone heard any others and does WWE get paid for giving permission to use themes or is it cos the themes are done by others and not WWE?

Hardcore Hollys original theme is used during Spike TV segments...

The Hardy Boys "Team Extreme" Theme is used in the trailer for either Crow 2 or 3...which ever one had Kirsten Dunst in it.

When Barry Windham, and both the late Curt Hennig and Bobby Duncum Jr. first formed the West Texas Rednecks in WCW, the "Good 'Ol Boys" theme they used (Before "Rap Is Crap"), originally had no vocals, and was used for Jeff Jarrett's first run in WCW back in '96.

I was still watching WCW when RAP is CRAP began, and I am pretty sure it had nothing to do with Three Count. IIRC, it was something to with Master P & the No Limit Soldiers?

You are talking to the theme master right here!

Oh, and the Patriot's theme isn't exactly like Kurt Angle's current theme...there are slight differences. Listen to both of them and you'll see.

Several themes used by WCW and WWE/F are licensed from outside production music companies. Check out http://themes.xylot.com/members for a full listing of all the theme's titles and which ones are licensed. Themes such as the Hardy Boyz's last two themes ("Chase Manhattan" and "Loaded") were licensed from www.extrememusic.com. The nWo theme ("Rockhouse") and the Outsiders' very first theme ("Crazed") were licensed from www.nonstopmusic.com, etc., etc...

And here are some more themes that are the same for different wrestlers:

• The bomb-drop used in the house-produced Dudley Boyz themes is the same (only altered) as the one in the beginning of Adam Bomb's 2nd theme.
• You will notice many similarities between "California" (the WrestleMania 2000 theme), several of Rodney Mack's themes, and Teddy Long's "MacMilitant" theme.
• Drew Carey's theme (the one he used one time) was also a promo theme for King of the Ring 1998 ("Trash Talk").
• Jesse Ventura's theme (the one he used one time in '04) was also a promo theme for SummerSlam 1999 ("Burn Out").
• Jamie Noble's 1st theme was the same theme used for John Cena's 2nd theme (just before his white rapper gimmick).
• Mark Jindrak's 1st theme, Orlando Jordan's current theme, and the "WWE Live" commercials all use the same theme, "Too Much Mustard," which is a production theme. Oh, and The Kat used it as well, with some alterations.
• The Quebeceur's 2nd theme and Leif Cassidy's (later known as Al Snow) 2nd theme (after the New Rockers split) are one and the same: a production theme called "Alice's Folley".
• And yes, Stevie Richards' current theme is in fact the same as Kronik's. Good ear! I didn't pick that one up. Rep for you.
• Stevie Richards' 1st theme and Dudley Boyz's very first theme (they had one before Spike Dudley's current theme) are the same: "Big Style", a production theme.
• Which brings me to the fact that Spike Dudley is using the Dudley Boyz's 2nd theme as his own.
• Johnny Nitro's theme (before MNM) was, of course, the theme to WCW Monday Nitro.
• Jacqueline used Marc Mero's rock theme ("Rough Rock") at one point, as did Renegade (WCW) for his 2nd theme and for the WCW Halloween Havoc 1997 theme.
• Val Venis' 2nd theme is the same as Chavo Guerrero's 1st theme ("Euro Euro").
• Faarooq's 13th theme is the same as Chuck Palumbo's 9th theme.
• Paul London's theme bears a striking resemblance to the "Rockers" theme.
• The squealing tires are the same in Razor Ramon's theme and Mick Foley's theme.
• Bull Buchanan's 2nd theme was also used for One Man Gang at the Gimmick Battle Royal in WrestleMania X-7.
• Crash Holly's 1st theme was also used by Hardcore Holly and Molly Holly (of course).
• Lita's 2nd theme (the techno-ish one) was also used by Terri later on.
• After his hippy gimmick was scrapped, Van Hammer used Big Bubba Rogers' theme.
• Brian Nobbs' 3rd theme (WCW) was also used by Barry Windham after his 1998 return.
• Curt Hennig's 1st theme was also used for Fit Finlay's 1st theme as well as the theme for many jobbers.
• Damien and Ciclope used the same theme.
• For a short time, Bobby Duncum Jr. used the theme for El Dandy & Silver King.
• Evan Karagias' 1st theme was also the theme for WWF Shotgun.
• The Hollywood Blondes, Greg Valentine, The Extremist, Marty Jannetty, Blitzkreig, and Van Hammer all used the same theme ("Satin's Sister" [sic]) at one point in their WCW careers.
• Lash Leroux's 1st theme was also used by Stevie Richards (WCW) at one point.
• Lenny Lane's 1st theme was also used for a WWF promo.
• Lex Luger's WCW theme in 1995 was also used for a WWF Superstars Hotline commercial.
• The Outsiders' 1st theme (mentioned at the top of this post) was also used for WCW Bash at the Beach 1996, as well as a WWF Raw Magazine commercial.
• Rey Mysterio Jr.'s 1st WCW theme ("March of Death") was also used for Zodiac (one of Brutus Beefcake's many WCW gimmicks), as well as an Undertaker/Diamond Dallas Page promo.
• Rick Steiner's 1999 theme, "Twisted," was also used by Mike Enos at one point.
• Vampiro's 1st theme was also used for Billy Kidman's 2nd theme in WCW.

That's all that I can remember right now. There are more, I'm sure, but I just can't recall them at this point. More than you bargained for, eh?

I can't agree with all of those.

• Val Venis' 2nd theme is the same as Chavo Guerrero's 1st theme ("Euro Euro"). for instance. There are others, but that one springs to mind first.

Well, that's the only problem I saw about my list. (This was a list I've always kept, by the way.) According to this site here, Val Venis' 2nd theme was titled "Euro Euro". But when I listened to the real song from www.extrememusic.com, I heard Chavo's 1st theme. EIther there's a mix-up or someone has the wrong information. But all of the other ones should be correct.

The Godfathers theme sounded familiar to Flash Funks. At least the start did - I think

Also I think that on the English show named 'Soccer AM' they use the old RAW IS WAR theme when they go into adverts, can anyone back me up here?

SuperNinja has done some stupid things
The Heavenly Bodies WWE theme was originally the New Foundation's

The Rock & Roll Express used The Rockers theme during their 1998 WWE run

The Iron Sheik's theme was originally The Sultan's and later on Tiger Ali Singh's

The Ministry of Darkness theme sound a little like Demolition's, without the lyrics

I'm preety sure Trot Nixon of the Red Sox's comes out to Triple H.

Also Steve's Blackman's music is used on a milkyway commerical.

Plus the intro to Razor's and Mankind's music both starts off with the same car crash sound.

Vince McMahon's theme was originally the Royal Rumble 1999's theme. Or was it the other way around? What music did Vince use, if any, before the Royal Rumble?

Also, Linda's theme is WrestleMania 14's theme I believe. I know it was used for a WrestleMania.

Actually, the sounds ARE somewhat different, although I thought the same thing at first.

Yeah I've recognized quite a few of the SmackDown! game BGMs; they sound very familiar most of the time. Probably a few promo themes thrown in there.

Whcih makes me wonder: Why not put unused generic-sounding themes for some of the "Original" themes int he games? As opposed to the crappy, overused, gimmicky themes (the pipe organ theme, the ballerina theme, etc.).
