Heel turns you thought would not work out long term. Were you right?

Personally, right now I can think of two:

Hulk Hogan- When Hogan turned at Bash at the Beach I thought it could never work long term because of the face pops he was recieving. I was wrong he proved to be a formidable heel and drew reasonable heat.

Goldberg- I had a feeling that this heel turn would be shit. Why you ask? Goldberg did and still does not have any mic skills. Mic skills are essential to be a top tier heel.

What about you guys?

(NOTE: Edit down your Sig man...no need for so much)

I knew that the Steve Austin heel turn wouldn't work...and don't anyone tell me that it did.

It wasn't that bad. The singing Austin bit was pretty funny.

The Rock's Hollywood Heel turn. It worked up until the matchcagainst Goldberg when everyone started chanting Goldberg sucks and cheering for the Rock.

Eddie Guerrero's heel turn. If I'm right... well we'll have to see.

That's because heel Rock is everyone's fav. The Rock got the craziest cheers when he was a heel with the Corporation too.

Reasonable heat?

He was despised. People were throwing shit at him in the ring and booing him like he'd killed their dog. He was soooooooo over as a heel, maybe the best ever.

Who better to make the greatest heel of all time than the greatest face of all time?

Yeah, what the hell are you on about? He was easily the most despised peron in all of wrestling for years. His match with Sting at Starcade had people in the audience rioting.

My own personal choices....Sting made a sort of turn near the end of WCW's run. I thought that was stupid. I was right. Of all the bad booking decisions they made, this was one of the worst.

Hogan was still being cheered though by the NWO marks and the hardcore hogan fans that is why I said reasonable heat. Hell at least we cheered him up in Toronto...

Hogan was not cheered when he was with the NWO in WCW he got so much heat.

Yes now though Hogan could not be a heel.

WWE's nWo Hogan is not the same as WCW's nWo Hogan.

Hollywood Hogan was amazing back in 96-97. I mean the guy was the poster boy for wrestling in the 80s, then completely reinvented himself and was the most hated guy a decade later.

Another heel turn that I knew wouldn't work was when they turned AJ Styles heel...and then to confuse everyone they turned Jeff Jarrett face....ahhhh the logic of TNA at times.

Tajiri's turns always make me uneasy (well the ones in the WWE are the only ones I can judge). He's too over as the "cute and cuddly face that can kick ass when he needs" Tajiri to be "raw ass-kicking" Tajiri. He aways gets moderate heat, and the fans pay moderate attention to what he's doing as a heel, but as a face he gets the whole place going, and there's much mroe interest in him.
