Dustin Rhodes was not at the TNA taping on Tuesday because he was arrested for a domestic dispute with his girlfriend at the Double Tree Inn hotel in Orlando, Florida, as we reported earlier in the week. His father and head TNA booker Dusty Rhodes falsely hinted backstage to those who asked about his absence, before his arrest was made public, that he wasn't there because the budget was too tight.

Monty Brown was not at the tapings on Tuesday either, but for drastically different reasons. Brown is currently in a contract dispute with TNA. Brown recently signed on with famous agent to many WWE and former WCW stars Barry Bloom, who proposed a contract renewal for Brown. TNA officials reportedly turned it down and didn't even propose a counter offer. Monty Brown had been recently working without a contract, so he is currently free to sign with anyone. That could also explain why he was the guy who did the job in the big six-man main-event match at last Sunday night's Lockdown PPV.

Diamond Dallas Page was not asked to attend this week's TNA tapings because of budget cutbacks.

Sean Waltman gave his notice to TNA unless they agree to catch up on backpay he feels he's owed. A recent incident was Waltman not being written into a recent show, but not being told not to attend the taping of the show. Waltman, assuming everything was as usual, attended, despite not being used, and per-his agreement with the company, should have been paid whether he was used or not. He wanted a steady income agreement with TNA if he were to opt not to take dates on the indy scene, Japan, Puerto Rico, among other places he would have no trouble finding bookings. Waltman is currently in negotiations with TNA to resolve this issue.

Several sources are reporting that TNA is claiming that they're on the verge of signing a huge TNA deal in the United States. An announcement is expected to be made within the next few weeks, however, they are bound in a confidentiality agreement and cannot publicly comment on it right now.

Most expect that since SpikeTV didn't express much interest, the deal is with WGN. WGN's name had been thrown around as a fallback option in case the deal with SpikeTV fell through.
To recap, for those of you too lazy to read: It looks as if Dustin Rhodes, DDP, Sean Waltman, and Monty Brown are gone from TNA. Addition by subtraction IMO.

And the rumors of TNA going to WGN continue. I'd throw the bullshit flag, but the net was right before when there were rumors of TNA going to FSN.

Good ddirection or re-arranging the chairs on the Titanic?

Personally, I think its a good decision except for the Monty Brown situation. Dustin and Dusty should both leave, DDP is kinda washed up and old, X Pac just plain sucks and is pointlessly being paid. The only reason why I say the Monty Brown situation is bad b/c even though I think he's goofy, he's pretty over with the TNA crowd. So I guess he must have something special to him???

Whatever, I think it's a good step in the positive direction though. The show needs to be centered around Styles, Daniels, and others.

I think it's a good move if they got rid of Dustin Rhodes if they want to make budget cuts. Cut Rhodes, Monty Brown, Waltman, and Daddy Rhodes. That money could be better spent on securing other talents. What TNA needs to do is also cut their fucking jobber roster. If those guys are getting $50 a taping that's too much.

They need actual matches, with actual competition. This isn't a WWF Superstars show from the early 90's, where it's OK to have job or squashes the whole card, and then a legit main event. You have a ton of name guys in Florida and the surrounding area - utilize them for glorified enhancement talents if you have to; at least they're actual established talents, and putting your regulars in the ring with them will make it seem as if they're a challenge.

You have Norman Smiley, Kid Romeo, Glacier, Jason Cross, Tony Mamaluke, Mosh of The Headbangers, The Warlord, Jimmy Rave (of ROH), and a whole shitload of other guys right in their local area. At least if people are seeing recognizable faces, they'll buy into a match being competition - and if you don't know who you're going to see when you tune in each week, you've got something to watch for. Just an opinion that would help a bit.

If TNA wants to bring in a familiar face that'll shock viewers, it has to be a bigtime WWE wrestler and not washed down and/or rejects. Stone Cold or Rock would really boost them completely.

SCSA is under contract with the WWE, and with him being set up as the star of their direct to video movie division, he's probably there for life at this point.

And there's no way in hell The Rock goes from the biggest wrestling company in the world to movie star, to headlining for a glorified regional company like TNA.

The best they could hope for as far as names go is Goldberg or possibly signing Brock Lesnar if his lawsuit setlement involves his release form the WWE.

The only REAL loss there is Monty Brown. The WWE might be able to make some use of Monty Brown, DDP and Dustin.

Have Dustin come back as Goldust, and continue that "I Still Remember..." thing. Have DDP signed as a manager, because the WWE could really use a few guys like that. Monty Brown would make an awesome bodyguard heel for Christian if he went over to SmackDown!, or a great animal face if they chose to use him in maximum capacity.

I wasn't saying guys who would shock the audience, just different talents that make for better enhancers than Buck Q, Lovett, Capone, etc. No one ever expects them to pull a win over any of the established guys - nor should they. At least with other guys who come off as credible, it not only makes for better matches - but also makes their wins a bit more 'important'.

And now we are seeing the results of over spending on pointless talent, i hope the people who run TNA are kicking themselves now, it was stupid to spend all that money in the first place, and now look where it's got them.

WWE would most likely be interested in The Alpha Male...people cmon this is a golden opportunity to have HHH away from the main event for a possible 2 months. First Brown gets a title shot, then HHH buries him a PPV after.
