as a Pitcher in baseball
who has the most single season wins? Just asking because I know it's pretty much impossible for a pitcher to go the whole season getting a decission in the game, but Willis and Garland are already 7-0 and it's not even 25% into the season yet.

might want to check all the stats if you want. Could be off by some. Did that blind.

Nobody will ever win that again though. I still can't believe Joe Garland right now. Got him on my team off waivers in the 5th week of the season

Never heard of that many before. Maybe. I don't like to count anything before the 1890's though cause the game was completely different.

Yea, just looked in some of my books. Lots of guys won 50 games back then. But the play back then was so ridiculous and some of those "stats" are probably not realistic anyway.

Did anyone see Baseball Tonight? I heard something about Walter Johnson and Christy Mattewson pertaining to Willis and Garland. I had my eyes shut, so I couldn't see. I'm thinking it was about 2 guys from each league starting off the season winning 7 games.

Also, they'll never get to 41, but 30 is a possibility, Last NL guy to win 30 was Dizzy Dean in 1934. So, the odds are against them. McClain won 30 in '68 for the Tigers though.

25?, no problem. Well not "no problem" no problem, but we'll see that again. 30? I think so, I think baseball may yet see teams go back towards guys getting more than the standard 32 starts. IE 4 starters

30 will not happen again. Denny McLain was the last to do it in 1968, and in 1968 Yaz won the batting title with a .301 average. The only hitter to hit above .300 that year.

I think 30 can happen again. I mean Bob Welch won 27 in 1990 and it seems like we're heading into a pitcher's era again so who knows.
