Favorite Wrestling Moment

What was you're favorite moment in wrestling?

I have only been a fan since about 1998 so mine would have to be Chris Benoit winning the World Title at WrestleMania XX. Not just that match, but Triple H tapping out and JR's screaming and Benoit's true emotion. I have been a Benoit mark for quite awhile and I remember him winning the WCW World Title and then getting screwed out of it. I can't describe what I was feeling when Benoit was holding the belt up at WrestleMania, but I will sure as hell never forget it.

Honorable Mention: Austin vs. McMahon Ends With A Handshake (WrestleMania X-Seven)

Wrestlemania 13. Bret has Austin in the Sharpshooter (Back when the sharpshooter was a worth something). I was flipping out because I was sure Austin was gonna tap, but he never did. He was bleeding like a fucking stuck pig and screaming the entire time. But he never tapped. He just let himself pass out. I remember Bret being pissed.

One of my favorite moments because I think it was one of the main defining moments in the developement of the Stone Cold character.

Terry Funk winning the ECW World Title at Barley Legal, not that I was glad to see it come off of Raven's waist, but oh my god, the emotion, the fact that ECW had gotten through it's first Pay-Per-View...I was crying, it was just one of those moments that having been a fan for 5 years (yes I was a fan back when it was Eastern) it was just so incredible.

Honorable Mentions...
Ric Flair's 1998 WCW return, Benoit winning at Mania XX, and of course Mick's RAW World Title win.

Wrestlemania 17. The build-up, the anticipation, the storylines, the psychology and of course, Austin V Rock (probably the finest match ever)

We didn't know it at the time, but that was the pinnacle of the attitude era. It wasnt the same again after that.

Dude, I was going to say the exact same moment.

I became a wrestling fan shortly before this. I mean, wrestling has always been a part of my life, but I actually started to watch it regularly shortly before this.

So this was like the first time I saw a match like this... with blood everywhere and everything.

Plus I had always liked Bret Hart.

And the ramifications from this match with the double turn... sweet.

Favorite Wrestling Moment:
Vince McMahon coming out at WrestleMania XX to say thank you to the fans. I was in attendance and it felt genuine to me.

Also... when Pete Rose was introduced at WrestleMania XX because I was the kid who held up the ROSE 14 sign.

One more... during the Billy Gunn/Hardcore Holly/Al Snow hardcore title match at WM XV when the crowd (including me) chanted "LETS GO FLYERS" when Al Snow got a hockey stick out from underneath the ring.

I'm going to go back to when I first started watching wrestling, not that far, back in 2000 in fact, when Rock faced HHH at Backlash, he slammed HHH and Shane Mcmahon through the table at the same time, i was going crazy when that happened, (i had just started watching wrestling though ofcourse, but thats why i hold it as one of my favourite moments, because its hard to ever get that feeling back)..and also when Austin came out at the same PPV and smashed everyone with the steel chair to help the rock win, was a big fan of the Rock back then obviously to.

That still remains my favourite PPV, though this years Backlash came close. Also Benoit makin HHH tap at wrestlemania for the title, and when he just recently made HHH tap again on Raw, those are some good moments to.

My FAVORITE moment has got to be when Austin wouldn't tap at WrestleMania 13. That was a great moment, and I only saw it on tape.

Some others very high on my list include...

- Benoit winning the title at WrestleMania XX. It made it even more special because I was there live.

- During the Mick Foley/Triple H feud leading up to the Royal Rumble 2000, I specifically remember Mick coming out and announcing that Mankind wasn't going to face Hunter, Cactus Jack is! I marked out big there.

- I was also at the Royal Rumble that year (2000), and the Cactus/Hunter match was and still remains in my top five favorite matches.

Spot on, for me it was the start of a really quality period in the WWE. Loved Bret as a heel and loved seeing him beat Stone Cold, but doing the match in such a way that it made them both look like stars as only Hart could. Quality moment, especially at the time, was so real, definately my favourite.

Sounds a bit markish, but my honourable mention goes to Kane's entry into the WWE. He just looked so massive and such a real threat when he ripped the cell door off to confront Taker with a bloodied Micheals cowering away, was an awesome moment for me after a really intriguing hype to him coming in.

I have a few

1) Even though i'm a Rock fan i enjoyed the ending of the Rock Vs Austin match at Mania 17. It was a memorable end to a fantastic PPV.

2) Eddie winning the title last year.

3) Backlash 2000 (see above)

4) Undertaker Vs Foley at King of the Ring '98

I've got osme

Austin passing out form the sharpshooter at 13 sticks out as #1 since that is my all time favorite match.

Rock/Austin at XIX since that would be the last time those two would go one on one.

Benoit winning the Royal REumble being the number 1 entrant and going on to WrestleMania and becoming the NEW WORLD CHAMPION!

Eddy and Benoit in the ring, both as champions at WM XX. Truly a moment in wrestling that could not be forgotten.

When Austin left the WWF and joined the Alliance. Personally, I just didn't see it coming and I thought it was brilliant.

DX re-forming before Survivor Series 1999.

Vince and Shane on Nitro (The very fate of WCW is in my hands).

Benoit winning the title. I was watching the PPV live and it got to about 3.00 am. The show had been a letdown so me and my mates who were sleeping over decided to go to bed, thinking Triple H would retain. And I wasn't taping the show either.

Finally saw the match when I bought the DVD. Well worth the wait.

But Personally, my Best moment would be WMXX, Undertaker's Return to the Dark Side.
because he's the reason i started watching wrestling in the 1st place, and i hated big-evil.

Not to knock ya Pete, I am totally fine with you being a Taker Mark...but come on! He wasn't reborn to the dark side, they took the shitty looking bandanna off him and put a shitty looking cowboy hat on him. That isn't much of a change.

But hey if it made you want to put down some more money towards the McMahon Family Fund, I guess it worked.

com on man, ofcourse that's not what i meant.. but you know that there's a huge part of undertaker's persona that makes fans really love him.
and i guess you already know that wrestling's not all about low blows and chair shots, there's also the spectacle side of it... and don't get me wrong, but if you wanna talk about spectacle, you can't not mention The Undertaker, with his Ring Entrance, persona, and the effect he leaves in the ring or in his fans souls..
although i've never been to a wwe show live, sometimes when Undertaker enters an arena, it brings me the chills, and it's not the fear factor ofcourse, it's the excitement that comes along with the show, specially if he's ur favorite wrestler.

That's my top selection as well. You sure you don't live in my head dude? Almost all the posts you have submitted I agree with.

Jericho winning only to be stripped later of the Heavyweight belt from Triple H was huge.

Thinking that Flair was going to beat Triple H for the belt on Raw a couple of years back.

Final Nitro Flair vs. Sting. Hard not to cry at the end of that match.

Davey Boy vs. Bret at Wembley. (even though I was cheering for Bret)

Macho Man vs. Ricky Steamboat WMIII (even though I was cheering for Macho Man)

Rock vs. Hogan WM X8 it was just surreal.

When the Roadwarrior used to come out to Iron Man.

- Benoit winning title at WMXX

- Rock winning 2000 Rumble.

- Anything I saw live.

- HBK winning SS2002 Elimination Chamber (Although it was obvious, I only just started watching wrestling again like the week before, an absence of a whole year, and was so happy to see HBK back)

- Anytime I heard 'Are you Ready...' DX's theme tune. (When I was a mark, I was crazy about D-Generation X)

Royal Rumble 2003, being there in person as part of the standing ovation for Benoit. He seemed truly touched by it. I watched it the other day, they only showed half of the actual ovation and it was much louder in person.

Seeing the Cactus/HHH streetfight 11 rows away. And earlier in the show meeting Ted Irvine, Jericho's dad.

Benoit winning the Gold

Eddie winning the Gold

Jericho's WWF title "win"

I think i might change mine to last night when Vince McMahon, Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman were all in the same ring and did the ECW segment. Absolutely a mark out moment when the imfamous ECW theme started to play.
