Exclamation Is this a scam?

I was going to ask my mom for the info to confirm it, but then I realized it looks really fishy. I'm going to call tomorrow but maybe you guys could save me some time.

I got this email:

If you did not authorize this change or if you need assistance with your account, please contact eBay customer service at:

eBay Email ID PP007

When I went to the site it asked me to confirm all of this information (and the site looked authentic), but it was asking for credit card info, drivers liscense #'s, a bunch of stuff that I don't think I ever told eBay about in the first place.

Here is an e-mail I recieved about it from my school. It doesn't give much information on anything but it does make that to sound like the recent e-mail scams.

"Because of the large number of recent e-mail scam messages
that appear to come from Ebay, we have made a modification
to the anti-spam settings.

Normally, our anti-spam service was set to "whitelist"
(always deliver) messages with ebay.com as the sender. We
have removed that domain from the white list.

Over the next few days, we will be testing to see if this
change holds up legitimate Ebay communications. I am
predicting that legitimate communications (such as outbid
notices, etc.) will get through, but you will want to be
vigilant if you use Ebay.

In the meantime, be careful about any "phishing" (scam)
attempts. If you receive any message that provides a link
that goes to a site requesting personal or financial
information. There are almost always a trap!

Let me know if you have any questions about this change."

I just did a livechat with ebay and they said it was a scam, they will never ask for that information, and if you get an email like this send it to spoof@ebay.com
