Exclamation Alex Rodriguez

I went to the Twins-Yankees game tonight, and it was my first time seeing A-Rod live. After tonights game I decided that I have a lot of respect for him as a player.

Yeah I know, we all hate A-Rod. I'm not saying I am a fan of him, don't get me wrong. As far as I am concerned, he is the enemy, the villian, not a guy I would ever cheer for unless he was on my team.

Anyway, what I was going to say is that when you see him play in person, it really is something different. He plays the game with an energy that I have never seen an MLB player have before. He runs on and off the field with enthusiasm while the rest of the team walks of slowly jogs. The way he plays third base, he is always ready, you can tell he is just extremely confident. He honestly has a presence to him. I really wanted to see Jeter play, he is the man, but A-Rod was really a show in himself.

I don't know what to think of him as a person. In one way I hear about how he is laid back and a simple man outside of baseball, but in another way I remember watching him slap the ball out of Bronson Arroyos arm in the ALCS. What I can say though, is that now after seeing him live I finally understand why he is considered one of, if not the best player in the game right now.

That being said, I love him on the Yankees. Honestly, where else is a better fit for him? He is probably the most high profile player on the most high profile team, just looking at him out on the field he just looks like the guy from New York who knows he is going to kick your ass (in baseball terms of course). He represents the Yankee image that we love, because it is so goddamn fun to hate.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that. If you ever get the chance, I thought Alex Rodriguez alone was a treat to see play. Something you definately don't see every day.
