Can someone please explain the situation between Bruno and David Sammartino? When did they stop talking? And why? And have they made amends? Thanks in advance!

I can't believe I missed this when you posted it. I guess I have to come around here more often. This used to be the KayfabeMan Q&A Forum

Anyhow:

I believe this is/was the situation, but you may want to try to get your hands on a Q&A with David or Bruno where they might have discussed it for the exact details; if it's something you're really curious about. Anyhow, Bruno retired from the business, but was lured back by David who was promised gold from McMahon if he could get his father involved [Vince couldn't give a shit about David, he wanted Bruno back].

Sooo...Bruno, being a dad, goes back for his kid. Managing, doing commentary, even I believe some tag matches with David and the whole nine yards. In a short story, after a time Bruno got tired of it, and wanted out and left. David was kept on, but was fired after hitting a fan. The story goes that a fan spit on David, David punched the guy & was fired. It's still debated if McMahon had this guy take the fall, so to speak, just to get rid of David - which I wouldn't doubt.

But back to your question, I believe after all of this, David started using steroids - which is something that Bruno is 1000000000% against, and they had arguments over the steroids, and I think David blamed Bruno for him not gaining success, etc. and that lead to all of this.

As far as if they've made up, I don't believe so. I know as of 2004, it was just about 10 years that they hadn't spoken in; and IIRC, back at the WrestleReunion in January, Bruno said he still hadn't spoken with him - but I'm not 100% sure, as the room was quite loud, and Bruno wasn't.
