Full Smackdown Spoilers
Big Show beat Matt Morgan by DQ when Carlito hit Show with a chair. Morgan tried to put Show through the announcer's table, but couldn't do it. Show then put Morgan through the table.
Orlando Jordan, by himself, pinned Bob Holly using the ropes for leverage, to retain the US Title. Heidenreich came out to the ring. He did a poetry reading. The Divas came out and interrupted him. Then MNM came out. Melina shot on the Divas. Melina got into it with one of the Divas. Heidenreich tried to pull them apart and was laid out by MNM. JBL came to the ring with Orlando for his match with Taker. Before the match, Chris Benoit came down to the ring and brawled to the back with Orlando, leaving JBL alone. Taker and JBL brawled all around the building. JBL was on the offensive for a while, choking Taker with electrical tape. Taker came back and was about to win with a tombstone when Randy Orton ran down and hit the RKO on Taker. JBL then got the pin. Randy Orton then took the mic and ran down The Undertaker on the mic, and then announced he was the draft pick and was coming to Smackdown. After the taping ended, JBL and Orlando came out and beat on Undertaker. Benoit came down and the four began fighting. The faces got the upper hand and laid out the faces. (prowrestling.com) |

you forgot the first part
JBL did a promo ripping on ECW. He tore them up on the mic, kind of like last week. Chris Benoit pinned Doug Basham. After the match, JBL, Orlando Jordan and Danny Basham attacked Benoit. The lights went out Undertaker came out and made the save. JBL ran down Taker for getting involved. Teddy Long came out and said that JBL would take on the Undertaker tonight in a No DQ match. There was a huge reaction for Undertaker. Eddie Guerrero beat Paul London with a Sharpshooter. After the match, Rey Mysterio came out with a chair and went after Eddie. They brawled to the back. London got some offense in, but not a lot. After a long delay, where nothing happened, Guerrero was chased back to the ring by Rey. Rey laid out Eddie with a chair to the head. He then got pulled off Eddie by the refs. Sounds like they were doing some kind of re-shoot of the angle from the previous match. Eddie and Rey were shown on the Titantron fighting in the back. They were separated by an electric gate or fence so they couldn't get at each other. They did a backstage skit where the Cabinet teased dissention. The Bashams then quit the cabinet. In Carlito's Cabana, Carlito interviewed Booker T and Sharmell. Carlito said that Sharmell could get drafted to Raw, which would hurt their marriage. Booker then attacked Carlito. Sharmell and Booker threw apples at Carlito. |

Just thought I'd note, this is the first time Undertaker has been pinned since his return at Wrestlemania 20.

I dunno, with all the talk that SmackDown has gone down the shitter, this doesn't seem like too bad of a show. But Taker did have to be brought back so they do have some star power.

If you look at the bigger picture though, right now the US title is smackdowns biggest title. And OJ is the US champ, so it probably makes sense after all for now. Ive got a feeling though that the WWE title will switch hands at Vengeance, to Christian, and he will be drafted to smackdown and then that should balance things out abit. |

I'm picking Jericho will bring home the Undisputed to Smackdown, just because I suspect the WWE wants to continue the Cena/Christian feud on Raw that they've been building up.

Thing is i think Christian would fit into smackdown more, and besides, jericho was the one who attacked Cena so there's a potential feud there to.I wouldn't mind Jericho winning though, but i do reckon the winner will be drafted to smackdown after Vengeance either way.

I like the sound of the Cabana this week, and the possibly feud stemming from it. Carlito's enough of a smartass to pull off a line like that without sounding too forced. Of course, this makes two veteran/"legend" vs. young gun/"legend killer" feuds...but Carlito's character is different enough from Orton's that (hopefully) it won't seem too redundant. (How long, I wonder, before Carlito starts lusting after Sharmell? Or before Matt Morgan alleges that Sharmell "touched his p-p-p-privates?")

Orton is Smackdown
![]() Nothing surprising here. He was my first pick like 3 months ago when we started talking about this. |

That JBL/Taker match was pretty good.
Too bad JBL wasn't on my Fantasy Team. Coulda got major points for all those finishers he kicked out of. Not to mention all his appearances. And winning the match. |

I think SD is dead it does not matter that Orton is now apart of SD. SD died when Cena was drafted to Raw last week and the point was made more clear when Angle showed up this week.

I've got a bad feeling that Rey or Eddie will be drafted week after next, since they're having a match next week. They even had an ad for that match next week after Smackdown went off the air. This is one of the rare times that I'm going to be hoping for a DQ finish or something.

They debuted young Randall really well. Came off like a total badass. Now, he just needs to show some ass (and in a feud against the Undertaker, that's not unlikely), and he'll be able to regain his huge heel heat.
I'm not sure if it was on this board, but I recall reading someone noting that Orton's big failure as a heel was the fact that he never "showed ass" - the faces never really got the best of him, because the WWE wanted to protect him for his waaay too predictable and predetermined face turn. It's because of this that I really like seeing Orton on Smackdown, and I like the looks of this feud with Taker. Finally, he's going up against (and, presumably, over) a "legend" who won't just vanish once the feud is over; he's actually in a genuine feud with another WWE wrestler! Because Taker isn't just showing up to get fed to Orton, there's valid reasoning for saying that Orton may not go over - making it more impressive when he does. Other Taker thoughts: -I was really impressed with his match. First of all, it moved much quicker than I expected (Taker wasn't in full-on zombie mode); secondly, seeing him go for a pin after a big boot/leg drop made me nearly fall out of my chair laughing (after, of course, I realized that, no, that's another legend's finisher); and third, the psychology of the match was impressive. It had a very "real" feel to it. -There was, however, a discrepancy between his in-the-ring mannerisms and his outside-the-ring character - he moved soooo slowly to the ring, but came alive inside. Maybe this feud with Orton can allow the Taker character to evolve (hehe) a bit? Randy's character is so real, and so much about personality; whereas Taker's character is very gimmicky. If it were me, I'd shift Taker toward the "cult leader" sort of character he played in his feud with Austin (another personality-based, rather than gimmick-based, character). |

No offense to your amazing Pretercognition, BTW. I mean, people were calling this kind of trade at the same time as you...And a lot of them, because it seemed unlikely that the Taker/Orton thing was going to end at 21. But darn it, you are special, and we all know it. Last edited by Kane Knight; 06-17-2005 at 10:56 PM. |

Ultimately, Smackdown still has some talented performers, and will probably get a few more by the end of the draft (people are crying "Jericho!" and "Christian!" wherever you turn; frankly, I'm sure at least one will shift shows), and once they figure out how to use these new wrestlers (that is, which skills to emphasize and "sell" them on - like Benoit's grappling skill, or JBL's mic skills), Smackdown will get its stride back. So, while the brand identity we've called "Smackdown" from the initial brand split 'til present day may be dead, another version of "Smackdown," based on a new set of superstars, will emerge. |
