I agree. I've always had a problem with people who 'find God'. It's like Forrest said to Lt. Dan when he asks if he's found Jesus yet..."I didn't know I was s'posed to be lookin' for him." I know I don't have to look...HBK will tell us where to find him!

So, does anyone on this site actually understand the religeon that they continually bash?

Christianity isn't about your past sins, so don't bash the organization for honoring a man who made past mistakes. By pointing your finger and shaming someone, you're making yourself look like you're worse of a person than the people you point your finger at.

Secondly, HBK isn't that much of an asshole, and he doesn't thump his religeon. Practicing your religeon isn't thumping it. Don't be disgusted because he's wearing a shirt with a cross on it. It's not like he comes out, points to the camera, and says, "KK, you're a bad person because you touch your wee-wee."

Christianity is about setting an example, and real Christians are about trying to liberate us from shame. If somebody does otherwise and claims to be a Christian, they're not a very good Christian. Just like there are good and bad Muslims. We shouldn't hunt down and kill every Muslim because a vast minority of them are terrorists. Be angry at the individual, not the organization.

I think it's just that most of us have been jaded by the religious freaks that shove their beliefs in everybody else's faces and put themselves on a pedestal above the other "heathens" and atheists. I don't want to have to get dirty looks when Christians find out I'm an atheist. Maybe if ALL Christians accepted people of other faiths as equals, then we wouldn't have a problem with Christianity at all.

There's a bunch of Christians in suits carrying bibles who camp outside my uni trying talking to people as they walk past. Needless to say, that don't get a lot of success. That is perhaps the only thing about Christians which annoys me.

Whether you believe in God or not isn't my concern. A lot of Christians feel that the only way they can be a good Christian is if they convert somebody, and although part of Christianity is to go out and spread the word it doesn't mean forcing people into it.

Those of you who know me around here know that I'm not one to bring up religion a lot. In fact, I think the concerns of a lot of Christians in these types of situations are that atheists won't accept us if we say we're Chistian. You say that Christians put themselves on a pedestal above "heathens," but a lot of times I feel that atheists put them on a pedistal above "Brainless Jesus Freaks". So there's a lot of fear of one another on both sides.

One of the teachings of Christianity is to love your enemies just as you do your friends. It's to show by example how everyone, be you Christian, Jew, Muslim, or Athiest, should live your lives. Christians SHOULD be more concerned with peace than with morality. I can't speak for my fellow Christians on TPWW, but I for one am all about that. So maybe you'll change your mind about being an atheist in the future, but I'm not going to try to force my beliefs on you. We're cool.

As for the people who started this thread. I'm not trying to make you feel like crap. I'm just speaking what TerranRich said from his point of view. We don't want to be looked down upon because somebody else soiled our names.

Yeah. That's kinda what I was saying. Rather than chasing after you and bugging you, they should be living their lives like anyone else just being a good person. If you take notice and like what they're doing, you can start to live your life like they are too.

I have no problem with people who find God. I have a problem with people who use their religion as a marketing tool (His T-Shirts), or embody so many negative aspects not supposedly of their religion.

What annoys me is Christian rock, Christian Wrestlers, and anything else where they have to add "Christian" to it. I hate when the mediocre gets elevated simply for being "Christian." Let's celebrate Jesus by honoring such a "Good Christian" like Michaels.

I just agree with TS6 that people need to realize not all christians are bible thumping "JOIN US OR BURN!" people. I don't agree with HBK's merchandise. I would rather he just wore the christian shirts he did when he first came back (aka the shirts that just had a verse on them or something) if he wants to wear christian themed shirts. However, I laugh whenever I think of a segment on WWE Confidential (RIP) when Shawn said (not verbatim) "Its going to be weird in a few years when I have to explain all the stuff I did then to my kids."

The millions of people who use Christ to preach hate and war. The people who segregate themselves by treating Christianity as "above" this world, instead of "apart," as the Bible actually states. For FUCK'S SAKE! Even Pat Roberts gets that, and he thinks there's a dyke conspiracy to promote abortion!

And what bothers me most about Michaels isn't his attitude (Though he's had problems even recently, we don't need to go back to before he "found God"), it's the fact that he's selling offensive Merchandise. It's offensive because he's cashing in on Christ. Nut naw. I'm anti-Christian instead. It's the cross that bothers me, not the merchandising of religion, or these organisations that are pointless, or the need to segregate yourself to actually get recognised (especially for Michaels, but hey, he likes to milk Jesus, so he probably welcomes this).

It said in the bible, (not verbatim) "If you are fasting, do not decline to groom yourself. Wear your best robe, go out and greet the world." I think that this can be directly applied to bible thumpers, and even people who wear religious shirts. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. If you are a good Christian, people will be able to tell by what you do, not what you wear or what you say. Christianity has become a fad, and that sickens me.

Christianity is about setting an example, and real Christians are about trying to liberate us from shame. If somebody does otherwise and claims to be a Christian, they're not a very good Christian. Just like there are good and bad Muslims. We shouldn't hunt down and kill every Muslim because a vast minority of them are terrorists. Be angry at the individual, not the organization.

If this is true, then why have there been 3 (debatably 4) crusades? Is that because Christianity is all about accepting people who are different? I think not. Its because throughout history, Christianity has been about converting everyone, smiting the wicked (ie anyone who is different), and controlling anything they can. Want to argue? Lets talk about the inquisition then!

Basically, Christianity (largely those who Find Jesus or are Born Again... or anyone who is blindly obsessive) works on a McCarthyistic principal. (McCarthyism = "Big lie Theory" = Tell a big enough lie, to enough people, and eventually they'll believe it) McCarthy is translated to Christianity by people thumping their Bibles loud enough, or wearing enough Religious Based clothing that the fact that they "look" like good Christians will hide the fact that they are "NOT" good Christians.

I have no problem with religion. But I completely loathe people who try to push anything ANYTHING on another person.

Its ok, I'm Catholic. Therefore I'm right.
