Predictions for the Six Man Elimination Match.
Who will be crowned the Smackdown champion. Will they even win the belt? Will something come up? Anyway, out of them all, I wanna say Booker T because I think he deserves it.
But I'm gonna have to go with JBL. Sadly, I just think that's the way WWE's going. I can't see Undertaker winning, he can't be champion as he barely talks. Chris Benoit may win, but I highly doubt it. I'd give him, a 30/100 chance. Muhammed Hassan is too midcard to win the Smackdown Championship, I expect they'll all get him out first. The Big Show wont win, he'll get screwed by Matt Morgan. So I'm saying JBL. |

I think something else will come up, the world heavyweight champion(Batista or Triple H) may be drafted to Smackdown and it will be turned into 'whoever wins faces the WHC at The Great American Bash'

This match makes little sense to me. On one hand Muhammad Hassan has been added to the match, yet a former WWE Champion and Royal Rumble Winner is not. Then there's also the man who has beaten that former WWE Champion and Royal Rumble Winner, and he's not in the match either.
There will also be two draft picks next week on SD!, and they are not scheduled to be in the match either. When creating a title, shouldn't all your best and brightest be in contention? I seriously doubt we'll see a definate conclusion next week, which leads to a tournament or something for The Great American Bash. But assuming the WWE does crown a SmackDown! Champion this week, I doubt it would be The Undertaker. I have actualy entertained the idea of a new Championship beginning with a reign by The Undertaker a few months ago, but he doesn't need it, the title doesn't need it, and 'Taker has programs elsewhere, which can be used to juice up TGAB buyrate. The Big Show likely won't win, because he has a feud going with Matt Morgan. Big Show wouldn't be a great first-pick for a World Champion, either. The same goes for JBL. He's completely free of storylines, ATM, but he really isn't the best choice to kick-off a title's credibility. You've then got Muhammad Hassan, who has won no other Championship, debuted in the WWE this year, and is still developing as a character and a wrestler. He wouldn't be the best choice. This leaves Booker T and Chris Benoit. Booker T winning would be a great way to immortalise Booker, and it would make up for him not beating Triple H at WrestleMania XIX, and the WWE avoiding putting a title on him in the last few years. Granted, he may not be what he used to be, and he may not be an icon of the business, but if he wins this match he may just become one. I'd have to give the edge to Chris Benoit, though. He's an 18-year veteran, former four-time IC Champion, former US Champion, he's won the World Tag Team Championship with Chris Jericho once and Edge twice, he kicked off the WWE Tag Team Championship with Kurt Angle, he's had some of the most fantastic matches in history, he's only the second man to ever win the Royal Rumble after entering #1, he's had some great battles over the WCW Television Championship, and I'm sure there are other WCW and ECW Titles I am forgetting. He was also a former WWE Light Heavyweight Champion, if you want to bring up the ancient history of the title, dating back before Taka Michinoku became the "first" LHW Champion. Benoit has already commenced a title in the WWE, he's big given their greatest honour (winning the World Title in the WrestleMania main event) & he's been in practically every kind of match, save the Hell in a Cell. Benoit is probably a better choice for SmackDown! Champion for this reason. |

This is kind of a tough choice, but I don't see Hassan winning yet and the others are just a possibility. I'll say Benoit because I can picture him getting the upset victory.

Think of it this way - it's the last night of the draft, they probably wanna do something big. Naturally, the more people that see this "huge" event, the more you'll have wanting to see what comes of it in the following weeks. (Word of mouth is one thing, but actually witnessing the events unfolding - bringing you that much closer to the action - really whets the appetite.) But say this huuuuge surprise event is the draft of either HHH or Batista (depending on the HitC outcome) to Smackdown, bringing the WHC with them (and bringing the story of this draft full circle). Because draft picks and trades, by nature, can't be built up and advertised in preceding weeks, like a match can, they have to find other ways to bring in viewers (who will then get the added bonus of witnessing this "OMG THIS WILL CHANGE THE WWE FOREVER!" occurence). Ergo, the six-man "championship" match; it's big, it tells the viewers they're gonna see something new, it's got everything that'll attract an audience. Then, the WWE swerves 'em by bringing an already-existing title to SD (albeit one that is new to the show). Showing off the new SD title would be another huge attention-getter. That way, the audience thinks, "Oh, that's what they're fighting for;" and that reinforces the "special" feel of the match. I don't think the WWE would pass up this opportunity to squeeze out a few more viewers...especially after seeing the WWE so effectively stock the RAW roster to boost Vengeance buyrates. Since it seems their ultimate goal for this draft was to switch the championships and their respective shows, this was actually a rather creative and (generally) unpredictable way to do it. (And, hell, I've said it too much already, but it's worth mentioning again that Teddy Long himself - passing down word from Vince McMahon - said the title situation wouldn't be addressed until after the draft. In this case, it seems WWE was right in figuring its viewers would forget that after two weeks...but I really don't think they would've had Teddy make that statement so forcefully and definitively if this SD title was really in the cards.) |

I'm betting it's JBL.
But I'm thinking something like a double-elimination between Benoit and JBL will occur and they'll have to face-off at GAB for the title. |

Why not Hassan. Great way to establish him as a number one heel?

I think something else will come up. As been said, I think whoever has the World Title will be a draft pick. It'd be absolutely retarded to have 3 Heavyweight Championships in the same company. It's bad enough having two. I have a bad feeling that something stupid will happen before that draft pick. Something stupid as in the winner of the "Smackdown Championship" will win a trophy or some shit like that.

There won't be 3 Titles. I'm like 99.999999% sure that Batista or HHH will go to Smackdown with the World Title. I'm betting Batista because I think they're planning on Orton being the top heel soon. You have JBL there and then Orton. I just don't see HHH moving, unless he turns baby.
So I think Batista will get drafted with the Title. He'll challenge JBL, who will win the tourney, and they will face off to declare the real Champ. |

It all seems a waste to have the SmackDown! Championship pop-up, then. Even the most un-intelligent fan will bethiking "Why didn't they wait until the draft was over?". I think if they're having a SD! Championship, they should unify the WWE and World Heavyweight Championship, in a mini-tournament event at Summerslam. Have the SmackDown! Championship contested in the main event (I dunno, with a match like Chris Benoit vs. Brock Lesnar or something), and with matches like The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton, the event should have no problem selling.
Personally I think they should stick this through. Next week, have HBK and Kane drafted to SD!, and have them interfere in the match. With the loss of two SD! wrestlers (presumingly near the main event scene), you now have eight men in site for the title. Have a one night tournament at The Great American Bash, where Shawn Michaels wins and becomes the first-ever SmackDown! Champion, defeating Chris Benoit in the finals. The World Heavyweight Championship is basically lineage-less as well, so you may as well merge it with the WWE Championship to make it seem bigger. |

Hassan will win because he deserves a push... not to mention with these superstars debuting on the new shows and winning their debut matches, Hassan will win it.
