That would make it a 0.66, which is lower than New Years Revolution and Backlash.

It says "early estimate."
Altho I'm not sure why it says "early" since it's been three weeks. I saw some outdated news on the Observer just right now... like a newsbit posted today that was an article written two weeks ago. *shrug* |

Hey, how many of you remember that one commercial, where the two kids are sitting there, one with some chocolate, and the other with some peanut butter, and somehow it gets mixed up? One kid complains that the other dude got his chocolate in his peanut butter, and the other kid says that he got his peanut butter in his chocolate? You remember that? They both ate their stuff, and they were happy with how it came out? That’s how I feel about the whole ECW PPV with the WWE in it. Only it’s more like peanut butter and salmon. Two things I totally enjoy, that shouldn’t be on the same palate.

Its a real number, its from WWE.com, which is the official site for buyrate info.
Anyway, this was just bad journalism by a certain site that allowed a "reporter" (what a joke) to report a buyrate 2 days after the show, which is not possible. I swear I gotta start a site, just make up lies and half truths. And Ive already trumped all the sites on a certain something; you'll be reading about it in coming weeks. |

I had LOW expectations for this PPV because of the WWE involvement in it...some matches kind of matched up with that (or rather, parts of them...Jericho doing the Boston Crab, Rey and Psicosis doing a few WWE-like spots)...but nothing could prepare me for the authenticity this PPV held. Sure, there was no Raven, nor Shane Douglas (two HUGE names in ECW, the latter of which pretty much set ECW on the path that it took)...but for the limited time they gave, WWE really put ECW over. The fans really made it ECW, hell, even KURT ANGLE took it extreme, which I found hilarious. Everything from the Joey Styles commentary on Mike Awesome to RVD and Paul Heyman's shoots, to Sandman's entrance...was just classic. Seeing Rhyno actually do a freakin' piledriver for once was great. The DVD version of this probably sucks (because of the edits), but in the "blur" and "patch"-age of WWE, that's to be expected. But the live event...was definitely the best thing WWE had put out in years... |

Honestly, I wouldn't doubt that WWE would give out false numbers, as not to make their own product look less superior by comparison. I mean, why did it take so long for the numbers to get out? And what's to stop them from doing so? They have no real obligation to give the fans the true numbers for the PPV buyrate.
Still, it probably is the real number. Let's face it - most marks (which make up about 80% of the WWE's fan base) had probably never heard of ECW up until InVasion. |

Not saying that the show did poor numbers, but it just falls in with the rest of the PPVs. I think that the WWE's product right now is better than ECW's ever was or ever could have hoped to been. My opinion, anyway. |

Stop being morons people. The numbers weren't made up in a conspiracy to bury the memories of ECW...
Just accept that it didn't completely destroy every PPV ever. It did good though. |

nah, it's on the corporate section of the site. Those are definately real. If anything, they would want to bump up thier numbers to show off to thier investors/potential investors.

We'll see how the DVD sales do tho. Remember that most people didn't expect much. So yeah, I think the DVD sales will be a better indication of how it went over.

nothing would be gained. I said "If anything" to make the point that they would want to make the numbers higher, not lower, if they were trying to screw with the numbers at all.

actually, it's almost common practice today and in the past that wrestling companies always bumped up their attendance figures. Don't know what a few extra thousand would do other then make people feel better though.
WCW actually fucked up one time and subtracted there attendance figures for a a huge show, which they drew 41,000+. They said they only did 38,000 or so and it actually hurt them a little in the wallet |

I doubt that anyone would go so far as to hurt their own numbers, but the WWE has always seemed to artificially restrict the "other" talent, even under their own roof. That combined with the fact that people WANT ECW to have had a HUGE success rate, and beat the WWE even after they've been bought out and killed off if why people are crying conspiracy. I don't blame them, but I don't really buy into it either. I've always wondered how far the WWE would go to "get back" at another promotion, or prove the "superiority" of their talent, but thius seems asinine, even for the pettiest of people. |

But like I said, they probably are the real numbers. It's just interesting to speculate on the inner working and possible political maneuverings of the WWE. |

Plus there are about a dozen things that are illegal about a public corporation releasing false information about their sales figures on their own corporate website. The buy-rate wasn't spectacular, but it was decent and ECW fans should be happy to know that there's a market to have an othe rone of these soon. Remembers, there were planty of non-ECW fans who probably became 'converts' simply by seeing this show. |
