The trailer didn't look too great, doubt I'll bother with it.

And you think this is over-saturation? Just wait until all the Marvel films with their less well known characters get off the ground.

I've not heard major details, but the only major changes I know of are Doctor Doom no longer being the ruler of Latveria, but rather a billionaire industrialist who funds the trip into space that gives the Fantastic Four their powers and goes with them. And that his metal faceplate and armour is now the result of being mutated by the same cosmic rays as the FF rather than being to cover disfiguring injuries.

Only in the sense that it's a Marvel film, neither the writers or the director had anything to do with those films. One of the writers was involved with Hulk and The Punisher though.

Been going to a lot of movies as of late, so I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up seeing this. I know nothing about these characters, so I don't know what's "wrong" about it's plot, etc, etc. Don't care either.

I honestly don't give a shit if it differs too much from the source material. As long as they remain faithful to the characters and the tone of the stories, they can change as many details as they want.

I was a big X-Men comic fan as a child, but it didn't bother me when they futzed around with things for the movies. The movies were about what they needed to be about, they were well-written, they were well-directed, and they were well-acted, so what did I care if Rogue wasn't the right age and Mastermind was Stryker's son?

I don't have high hopes for FF, but I'm seeing it on Friday. As long as it's fun, I'll enjoy myself, as that's all I ask for from a comic-book movie.

Anyway, it was really shitty and they show pictures and reviews of it. Pretty funny.

That's all I ask for too when I see a comic book movie. That the movie itself is fun. Hell, even Batman Begins was fun and that shit was kinda dark. Still a fun movie though.

I've seen it. It wasn't as terrible as I expected, but it was still pretty lame. The production values were pretty bad. Whenever Doctor Doom spoke, his lines were muffled, because they didn't have a mic on him inside the costume.

Saw it yesterday and really enjoyed it. I was a little bothered that they pretty much copied Norman Osbourne's backstory from "Spider-Man" and slapped it on Von Doom.

Aside from that, it was a lot of fun. Evans and Chiklis were easily the two best parts. The effects were quite good, and the script (after what I would guess were about the first ten pages) was well-written.

I like that they left it open for a sequel, but I hope they don't rush into making a second movie. Give it three/four years for the DVD to catch on and for people to start getting excited again.

Was it as good as "Batman Begins?" No. But it's hard for any comic movie to measure up to "Begins" for a while, I think.

Saw it yesterday, and it was pretty damn good.

I liked how the origin was real quick in the beginning and it moved right on to how the actual "Four" dealt with each other until a major disaster struck where they had to work together.

Saw it last night.

Two things bothered me.

1) How quickly the movie moves. IT was as condensed as Daredevil, without the continuity holes though.

2) What they did with Doom. This is a minor issue. but it is kinda annoying. I didn't even mind the shared origin bit, makes things easier.

The one he called lame was not the current Fantastic Four movie but the one from 1994.

And I was. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Was it perfect? No. Was it the same "quality" as Batman Begins or Spider-Man? No. But I wasn't expecting it to be. I accepted the flaws and went along for the ride and had a good time. All that I wanted out of this movie and for me, it delivered.

Saw it tonight. I enjoyed it, but the chick's acting was stale. But she was hot and you got to see her in underwear so I'm not complaining. The rest was great I thought... but meh, not as good as other superhero movies. It went too fast, and then there was only the one fight and it was over. BAM.. just like that

The chick was stale mostly because she was there for T&A primarily.

I thought it was a pretty good movie....

I was only disapointed at some of the graphics....the length in the movie...and then the final fight of the Fantastic Four Vs Dr. Doom.....those were the only bad points of the film to me.

And also it made a very crappy game...its like X-Men Legends but with all the fun taken out of it....but I guess that needs to be saved for the video game forum.

The Length was the only real thing for me. I mean, MArvel movies kinda have iffy graphics at points. No big deal. It really pissed me off how agile Spidey was in the air, but how stiff Toby was in comparison when they showeed him...POWER RANGERS, anyone?

So I got used to the inconsistencies. They do a good job at packing the plot in, though it should have been longer.

It's a decent popcorn film, I'd probably have enjoyed it a lot more if they hadn't wrecked Doctor Doom. I also agree with everyone else that the movie needed to be longer. I liked the fact that they actually spent time building everything up, but the fight scene needed to be longer.

The main pluses of the movie:

- Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm were perfectly casted.
- They spend time actualy developping the characters, a rareity these days
- Reed Richards was somewhat well charcterised (a little young for the role but other than that pretty decent)
-The inclusion of Alicia Masters.

Negatives:

-Too short
-Jessica Alba wasn't right for Susan Storm at all. (easily the worst casting decision)
-All that made Doctor Doom, such a fascinating villain was absent from the movie.

yea.....

Michael Chicklis and Chris Evans were perfect for there parts...

Ive liked Chris Evans from Cellular and thought he was really good in that. This just goes to show that he is gonna be good for future parts...

Michael Chicklis I actually imagined in the roll since the movie was first announced to be made. He already looks like The Thing before the suit is even on him and he is a great actor. Anyone who has ever seen the sheild would of known that.

Jesus Christ. They wrecked Doctor Doom by not making him a villain that took almost 30 years to fully develop! That's it! Break out the pitchforks, we're gonna right over this affront to God!

Regarding the first movie, I remember reading stupid comic book mags like "Wizard" and "Hero" back in the day proclaiming that the 1994 FF movie would be the one to finally end Marvel's big screen losing streak (which started with the aborted Spider-Man movie, continued with Howard the Duck, and ended with Punisher).

Now it's the poster child for the bad old days of Marvel movies, mainly because it was rumored to be so bad that it wasn't even released direct-to-video. Weird how things end up.
