Thumbs down Am I the only one...

Am I the only one who is NOT looking forward to seeing Brock Lesnar? I know a deal hasn't been made, but from what I've seen Brock has all these fanboys who want to see him back. Hass, Morgan, Maven, The Dudley Boys, Matt Hardy and other talented wrestlers are out of a job from a company they busted their asses off for, for an industry the love and respect.
Brock had everything the business had to offer handed to him on a goddamn silver platter, the things any talented wrestler can only dream about, and he spat in the face of the industry. What did he do? He talked about killing internet fans, admitted he hates gay people (I have a friend who recently came out so that sorta hits me hard), and tried to take World Wrestling Entertainment to court because he didn’t read the fine print.

“Like I said yesterday, professional wrestling is in my blood. This is what I want to do.” Bullshit Brock! It’s in the blood of every second and third generation star who was raised to respect the industry. It’s in the blood of every seasoned veteran who earned their titles. It’s in the blood of every small time indy worker who does it for a chance and doesn’t leave it so they can try to make more money. From a fiscal standpoint Lesnar made a calculated choice to increase his wealth.

Hulk Hogan can make a lot of money just by being Hulk Hogan. Sell his face and name to a fitness club.
JBL is a self made millionaire.
Ric Flair can retire quite nicely.

Why are they still in? I don’t think it’s for the money. It’s because even though they can very easily find a nice source of income without the impact. Brock is a sellout. If it were in his blood then he would have stayed with what’s in his blood. But what about chasing his dreams?

No, I can't wait to see Brock on my tv again. I've no doubt I'll tire of him within several weeks but that initial mark-out moment when he comes out and destroys Batista will be worth it.

Don't believe the shit on WWE.com. He's signed. And if he's not, the WWE is foolish for publicizing it because the deal could fall through. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if those interviews were written by the writers.

If the WWE is putting Lesnar in a program with Batista, I don't see any way the WWE could have Batista go over in the end without making Brock look weak. Lesnar NEEDS to go over if the WWE plans to utilize him correctly.

At least Brock'll up the ratings on whatever show he lands on. And I rather enjoyed most of his run as champ. Y'know, except for the Hardcore Holly fued. I rather enjoyed the fued with Cena though. Except, that was back when I found Cena likable, instead of the loathing I have for him now. And to make the Big Show look good? ...Yeah, I'm looking forward to his return.

I don't mind the idea of him coming back or not but he'd have to be on Smackdown, I'd like to see if a Lesnar - Orton fued would go well or not.

Always450: That was an excellent post and I can disagree with absolutely nothing you said about Brock's lack of respect for the business.

That being said, I'm looking forward to his return, simply because I liked what he did in the ring. He was physically imposing and could actually wrestle along with being a straight brawler.

But yeah, it does seem really unfair.

If I can enjoy JBL despite his total backstage assholeness, how can I hold it against Lesnar, a far better wrestler, that he "did it for the money?"

With the way the WWE is trying to blur the lines between a wrestler's persona and his actualy personality, I'm sure Lesnar's first promo will have him blasting the fans for their reaction at WM20 and then saying that he hated being in the WWE because it was a step down for him.

People don't like Brock Lesner because he just left the WWE flat and deside to try for the NFL, they don't like him because he said he wanted to kill internet fans, they don't like him because he hates gay people, and they don't like him because he squabbled over a multi-million dollar contract. I say with absolutly no sarcasim that all of these are valid reasons to detest this guy.

However, I for one always like Brock, from the second he came out and demolished every one in the ring at Monday Night Raw, to when he flipped off the people at Madison Square Garden during Wrestlemania XX. Was he pushed too far too fast? Of course he was. Does he have more natural ability then Hass, Morgan, Maven, The Dudley Boys or Matt Hardy? Of course he does. Like him or not, just months after his debut he was putting on quality matches and his promos were continually comming along. His match against Kurt Angle at Wrestlemania XIX was one of the greatest Wrestlemania matches of all time.

His in ring ability can't be argued with. What he brings to the company, is another guy that can put on good matches, and another legit main eventer. Some people dislike him for what he does out of the ring, and that is your decision to make I for one don't care what someone does out of the ring, that doesn't effect who I like. If I let what people do out of the ring effect how I like them I couldn't like Steve Austin, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, JBL, The Undertaker, Randy Orton, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and various others. It may just be me but I could dislike a guy out of the ring and like him in. But that's not to say I don't understand how people could feel this way, I do, I just choose not to let it bother me.

Nice one Didn't know about the gay people thing. what did he say? was it ultimate warrior quality gay bashing?. But yeah, you're exactly right, he was a prick in what he did after leaving, but if he comes back I'll still like him. because the guy was gold in the ring and I can at least appreciate that.

Imagine if he comes back, say on Raw Monday Night, because both sides are trying to "woo" him. IT's been done before, but if done right, it could be interesting, and buy him some time on both shows...It would work best at the double tapings they've been doing, since one of Lesnar's issues before was travel...

But ultimately he should end up on Smackdown. He's been a Smackdown guy, back when it was kicking RAW's arse weekly. The amount of changes Smackdown's gone through (theme music, changes in the arena set-up,theme music, general managers), it doesn't have a consistent identity. Now that Cena, Angle-the guys who were Smackdown-are gone, it just feels like Smackdown changed too much. At least with Lesnar back on Smackdown it would feel more natural (to me anyway).

Christ reading that back, I sound like a whiney bitch

how so?

You got HHH, HBK, Angle and Jericho to feed Cena. Putting Brock on there too would clutter up the heel spot.

On Smackdown you got JBL and yea, just JBL as the main heel. Add Christian and Hassan as the up and comer heels. Bring in Brock to feud with Batista and you got your money match for Mania 22.

oh and Guerrero on Smackdown too, but I just don't see them giving him the main heel spot any time soon.

I can see Lesnar appearing on both shows for a while, but he needs to end up on SmackDown! when all is said and done, though.

Brock Lesnar vs. Chris Benoit, Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton & Brock Lesnar vs. Batista are three feuds the WWE NEEDS to run with Lesnar. Besides, RAW has John Cena right now, so Brock could really pick SD! up out of the ashes with help from Batista and Rey Mysterio.

I'd like to see him interested in Raw, but Long insists that he was Smackdown! Talent and that's where he will stay. Then he can go and hate the Smackdown fans and the Smckadown wrestlers, and go on from wherever.

It's out of continuity (The Rock, Hogan, Nitro, others have come back and moved directly to the other show), but I mean, really, who looks for continuity in wrestling? How long ago was it that Kane was a party animal?

I sense that in a few months when Brock is back in the ring we will all forget this and just be praising his work in the ring because he was good. His return should also cause some interest.

Like KK said if people here can start enjoying JBL, then I have no doubts that people here will enjoy Lesnar when he comes back.

Brock will cost $$. Raw has more network coverage, that's why Lesnar will go to Raw. More return on the investment.

Where's Hogan?
